I really wanted a chance to read these manga, but unfortunately the files expired before I had a chance to get to them. Based on cover design and description, a majority of the books sound interesting. Perhaps next time I will have time to read the eARC sooner.

I liked this manga, it was romantic and dramatic but I did take a start off for Christophe, he was so rude and standoffish with Erin. Instead of giving her the benefit of doubt he just assumed she was guilty and tossed her off. The situation was cleared up but it could have been cleared up way before if not for Christophe.

Book Review
Title: The Secrets She Carried
Author: Keiko Yamada
Genre: Manga
Rating: ***
Review: The hotel where Erin works has finally found a buyer…but it’s her old flame and former boss, hotel mogul Cristophe Donakis. She was his devoted worker and passionate lover, but as soon as he’d had his fun, he left her high and dry. Now he has Erin’s back against the wall. He claims he has proof that she stole twenty thousand pounds from the hotel he’d trusted her to manage, and Erin can’t prove her innocence. He says he’s willing to keep quiet on one condition… He wants to spend one last weekend with her! While this may seem like a standard synopsis for a romance story Harlequin Mangas have always found a way to surprise me.
This was a standard romance story with a few twists throw in. We learn that Erin and Cristophe were in a relationship and now he is trying to buy the hotel she works at and he intends to fire her straight away from stealing a lot of money from him. Erin can’t defend herself without giving away the identity of the real thief, so she keeps silent. However, Cristophe says she can keep her job if she has dinner with him, so she agrees. They begin talking about their relationship and he accuses her of cheating on him which she never did she was always faithful.
As the pair get closer, Erin can’t keep her feelings for Cristophe at bay, but his arrogant attitude helps. Eventually the truth comes to light and Cristophe tries to make things right between them, but Erin has her children Logan and Nuala to think about. However, she doesn’t want to keep them from Cristophe as he is the children’s father and when she reveals this to him, he is happy and wants to marry Erin.
Before the marriage can take place Cristophe wants to inform his parents and he learns that his mother was behind everything and he is heartbroken. Erin now has the power to fix things which she does, she forgive Cristophe’s mother and even introduces them to their grandchildren. Even as the wedding approaches, Erin is still under the impression that Cristophe is only marrying her for the children’s sake and he tells her that he loves her, and she loves him too.

I am giving 4 stars because I loved everything that had to do with the manga part, but didn't, like the story. I loved the little intro on how we are supposed to read mangas and the illustration. I liked that in the important moments the book was in color and it was highlighting them. I wasn't a fan of the story because Cristo was not a good man and he married another woman shortly after he broke up with the heroine. And Erin took him back too fast and easily for my liking. The story doesn't go so in-depth as a novel would go, but it was still enjoyable and I would certainly read another one.

Secrets and misunderstandings have kept apart two people who were meant to be together. But love finds a way in the end... enjoyable yet unimpressive manga romance, a nice read before a good night’s sleep.

An unbelievably arrogant man!

A woman who was just so sweet and misunderstood but also a bit mousy although she came into her own at the end!
I was just so glad when she poured a bottle of wine over his head. It was the best part in the story!

I thought this manga romance was really enjoyable but there were far too many misunderstandings and these kinds of storylines are just so common. The reader already knows what is going to happen and I read a very similar manga romance just a few days ago. That kind of takes the shine off a story. I think the prose version would have been very different but the manga stories just end up being the same story in a different context.

Nevertheless I still enjoyed this.

There were cute children in the story and then the somewant predictable ending. The arrogant hero has an epiphany and discovers his mistakes. He also finds out that he is a father and there are lots of revelations all ending with a beautiful wedding.

It is a very familiar trope but I have to admit that seeing it in a manga version is still really enjoyable and very satisfying.

As usual the artwork is great and the drawings are so expressive.

The power games in the couple are not completely to my liking, so this one is not one of my favorite....

I giochi di potere all'interno di una coppia non mi piacciono molto, quindi questo é lungi dall'essere uno dei miei favoriti.....

THANKS NETGALLEY FOR THE PREVIEW!

Book title : The Secret She Carried

Author : Lynne Graham; Illustrator : Keiko Yamada

Release Date : 1 November 2018

When a new buyer comes to the hotel where Erin works, she was surprise that he turns out to be Christophe Donakis, the millionaire whom he happens to be her ex lover. Christ certainly comes for a mission: revenge! He accuses her for stealing some money from the previous company. As the drama continues, he demands our heroine to stay with him over the weekend. His agenda is for her to please his male ego in the pleasure department. Unfortunately, our heroine later remembers her children at home. Long story shortened, the hero comes to our heroine's house and find out about the twin she has and realises that when he dumps her years ago, she's pregnant. They later try to work some things out. The end of the story is surely cliche but a happy ending one.

I really love it when the author and the illustrator provide the readers with some kinds of flashback. It gives the readers an understanding on how our hero and heroine meet, how they build their sweet romance during their youth over swimming race, and how they're attracted to one and another. The story in manga style is definitely a bliss one should read!

A story of typical manga I can say.
In a melodious tone and amazing graphic I can say that the story was very good , i liked it , in a fiction it is set.

What I have taken from the novel:
All I can say is never let your eyes and ears make you believe a thing you first believed in , it sometimes creates an illusion and in real life if don't get to live again. Choose your moments you want to spend on what!

Surely for a happy ending lovers like me this is a good read.

I received this manga from Netgalley in exchange of an honest review.

A new buyer arrives, and of course it her ex. Dum dum dum. Who is a pretty boy, and I can imagine she fell for him so many years ago.

I loved that the author took us back to flashback heaven with showing us how these two met up. While our MC is swimming (apparently she is pretty good at it and even was scouted by people) she races with the one guy in the swimming pool, they hit off and that is the start of a romance. I was absolutely squealing with how cute these two were together. But of course, this is Harlequin, and thus the drama started quite soon. I was quite saddened to see their romance end like this, and I definitely wanted to shake them both (and mostly him for being such a jerk). Then again, this is Harlequin, and yeah he had a reason. Dang man, you didn't even try to find out if it was true or not. *snorts* Accusing people, classy.

I wasn't all too happy about him forcing her to have "stimulating" weekend or else he would tell. So, she needs to do stuff to you to make sure you won't tell? That is just ewww. No. Bah. And I was disgusted that he forced her to kiss him.

And the rest of the drama continues as she says to the weekend, but of course when mister doesn't get the sex he immediately goes back to dickwad mode. URRGGHGH, what is up with these people in these books. I was definitely applauding when she threw a whole bottle of fricking wine over him. Whooooohhoooo, go girl.

I am glad the twins are now known to Cristo, even though he is a jerk, he does deserve to know that he has kids. One looks exactly like him, the other like her mother. I am glad to see that he can be kind, I loved how sweet he was when they met him and he went along with what they said.

Be prepared for more drama, but also and thank you, also some romance. I am seeing a different side to Cristo, and while I still think he is a jerk for just blatantly believing anything, I am liking him more and I do think he will be a good father for his kids.

We find out who set up our MC, and I can say I saw it coming. What a bitch move, am I supposed to feel sorry for the woman? Because really? I am not.

The ending was very sweet though, I am so delighted with it. And yes, I did have some tears in my eyes.

The art was just fabulous. I loved the character designs, the romance scenes, the flowers (because this kind of manga needs tons of flowers).
