Title: Seduced into the Greek’s World
Author: Keiko Okamoto
Genre: Manga
Rating: *****
Review: Again, the synopsis of Seduced into the Greek’s World sounds like your typical romance which it is given the kind of books these manga were adapted from. Natalie is a single mother whose everyday life is filled with work and caring for her little girl, leaving no time for romance. When her work takes her to Paris, she is invited to a dinner with her boss, millionaire Demitri Makricosta. Her heart flutters at his passionate gaze but she tells herself she’s there to work. Still, when she has dinner with him, she struggles to resist his charm and soon finds herself in his bed. It was supposed to be just a one-night fantasy. But maybe the future holds more…
Natalie is a dedicated single mother trying to maintain her hard-built career and be a present mother to her young daughter Zoey. However, this life isn’t easy as it has meant sacrificing almost any chance at having a happy relationship. Natalie has also had a hard life as it has been spent caring for others, first her brother Gareth who died young, then her mother until her passing and finally her daughter.
Demitri on the other hand, seems to be a playboy through and through but there is actually so much more to him. He is the youngest of the Makricosta children and has a hard relationship with his sibling because they are always pushing him to settle down when he isn’t ready. Demitri also had a hard life as his father who abusive and because their mother wasn’t around the children bore the brunt of their father’s violent temper. However, Demitri was spared most of it because he was the youngest, yet he could stand by and watch his brother and sister being beaten so he often caused trouble to spare them, taking the beatings himself.
After a chance meeting while Natalie is on a business trip in Paris the pair go to dinner but not because Demitri wants her but because he thinks she is having an affair with his brother who is married. Natalie quickly sets this rumour to rest but doesn’t tell Demitri the whole truth. Demitri reminds Natalie that she is still a young woman and she soon finds herself in a sexual relationship with him but nothing more is expected.
However, one night Demitri is there when Zoey calls Natalie from back home in Canada and she can immediately tell he isn’t up for having a relationship with a woman who has a child and things go south from there. Things get worse when Demitri is called into his sister’s office and is reprimanded from having a relationship with an employee which is prohibited, but Natalie steps in and tells her boss that Demitri didn’t hit on her and how their relationship is different from the ones he has had in the past. As she waits to be fired Natalie learns that Demitri has resigned from the company to save her from being fired and she is overwhelmed with love for him, but he is gone.
Upon returning home to Canada she finds Demitri waiting there for her with Zoey and he tells what happened in the time they have been apart and that he feels he is ready for a family but only with her. The story ends with them engaged and preparing for a child of their own with a large and happy family beside them. I loved how this story focused on some darker elements like child abuse and the repercussions that can have on children in later life. Highly recommended!

Dimitri is your typical Harlequin hero, but I was still expecting more from him. The heroine could have had some strong moments, but she was mostly on the steady to weak side of the characters. Still, these two worked well for each other and that's enough. I would have liked to see Natalie's son more and his interactions with Dimitri.

The manga side was very good. I loved the illustration and everything of the manga part. Keiko Okamoto did a great job at bringing this book to life and I think that you should give the manga a chance, even if you have read the original story.

Demitri is a billionaire playboy who is apparently deaf and blind to all cares... except his family. He approaches his employee Nathalie to warn her off his married brother, but ends up being ensnared by her charm himself. Except he got Nathalie all wrong. She is a single mother whose priority is her son’s well being. Demitri runs off at this discovery, scared by the added responsibility, but what if her love for her family is what makes her special in his eyes after all?...

This is a lovely story and very realistic too. Natalie has had a hard life caring for her brother and her mother both of whom have passed away. She married at a young age only to find that she married someone who had no sense of responsibility. Natalie is now a divorced single mum on her first business trip to Paris and there she bumps into one of her bosses.

Demitri is attracted to Natalie on sight and he pursues her relentlessly and so Natalie decides to indulge. She is in Paris, single and excited to explore a no-strings affair with Demetri but employee/boss relationships are forbidden by the company and before either of them know it strings have wound themselves around their hearts.

This is a really nice story boosted by a huge dose of reality. This is something that could happen to someone and real life and that gives the story a kind of edge to it, Also it is just a lovely story about two people who meet, love and have the courage to make changes to their lives for each other.

Book title :  Seduced Into the Greek's World

Author : Dani Collins ; Illustrator : Keiko Okamoto

Release Date : 19 December 2018

Nathalie, a single mother and also a hotelier in Canada. Her life is filled with work and also her family leaving her nor even a second for romance. When she moves to Paris for temporary for her work, she is invited to a dinner by her millionaire boss, Demitri Makricosta. Ah, who does not know Dimitri? A womaniser, cute and charming as a cobra, and flamboyant. She later feels the butterflies running around her tummy every time Demitri lays his gaze on her. Yet she still tells herself : She is in Paris for WORK! Those kind of defence mechanisms do not work under Demitri's spells as soon, Nathalie finds herself in Demitri's bed. Their conflict begins when both of them could not resist their one-night-stand and expect more stands- LOL- no strings attached eh, Demitri? It gets spicier when the hotel management finds out about their relationship. No matter what, I give you a spoiler: you will see an interesting scene that shows Dimitri as a domesticated guy.

I personally like the story. The drama is spicy even when it is turned into a manga-style, I feel like some parts are missing. Well, hey, this is manga! everything has to be concise. The illustration is also good makes it a sweet romance that one should read.

I didn't lie so much the way in which Dimitri was drawn down, but ok, the story was not so bad...

Non mi piaceva poi tanto il modo in cui era disegnato Dimitri, ma la storia non era poi cosí male...

THANKS NETGALLEY FOR THE PREVIEW!

I received this manga from Netgalley in exchange of an honest review.

The Harlequin manga madness continues. After this one I still have 5 left to read! I am so happy that a ton of them were added to Netgalley, and while the stories (and art) are hit and miss I still LOVE reading these.

Another Harlequin manga about something something Greek. :P I was definitely looking forward to this one for the cover, but then when I read the blurb it got even better. It sounds so romantic, and I was hoping for as little drama as possible between the characters.

Demitri, could you please shave yourself? The moustache is just not fitting for you. He looked 10 years older with it.

I did think it was a bit weird that he would ask an employee out for dinner, but eh, there have romances that started in even less appropriate situations, so I could live with it. Though I was hoping for a bit more romance, and less of him flirting with her and then warning her to stay away from someone (and her reaction was very much on point, I would also have done the same). I am glad that both of them could talk though, now he knows a bit more about her. Her feelings and why she is so happy to be in Paris. Thankfully, very much thankfully, we get some more romance. Plus, I can imagine she went for this. She has been working so hard, caring for so many people, she is still young but has already experienced so much. I was happy that she decided to do this.

Oh my! Oh my! I am loving this story so much. Though I am worried. When will it go wrong? I know, this sounds terrible. But I am reading a Harlequin Manga, and things do go magically wrong. By one word, one sentence, or just a movement. It is very amazing, and annoying.

And yep, here we go. Dramarama when he finds out she has a daughter. As she also said, it is on her resume. But did you read that one? No. :| Urgh. *sighs* Can we just have one Harlequin without drama? Just sweet tender romance?

But thankfully this time the drama is short. *breathes a sigh of relief* I am happy that the author managed to cram a bit of Demitri's backstory into it, which explains some of his actions/reactions.

Ah, no, I am crying again. Dang you Harlequin, dang you! That ending. *cries* That was just so sweet, and I totally burst lose when he suggested that name. Awwwwwww.

So I really loved this one. It was cute, sexy, sweet, flirty, and it had a minimal amount of drama which makes me very happy. I also liked the art in this one. At times it looked at bit weird, but generally it was very shiny and sparkly.

I wish I had the chance to read the book but the publisher didn't include a Kindle version. My PC doesn't read acsm files. I can't a review for this. I hate that. Please change this in the future.
