A sweet love story, the art is very nice and the storyline flows well as a manga.

I really wanted a chance to read these manga, but unfortunately the files expired before I had a chance to get to them. Based on cover design and description, a majority of the books sound interesting. Perhaps next time I will have time to read the eARC sooner.

I love some work office romance. Anna is Parker's assistant and one day he sees her stepping out of the shower and he starts to see her as a woman and not just an assistant. Things get complicated when someone in the office is a spy and since Anna was previously accused of being a spy at another company, the suspicion falls to her again. Even Parker doubts her, and where there is no trust there is no love.

Book Review
Title: The CEO's Scandalous Affair
Author: Yukako Midori
Genre: Manga
Rating: ***
Review: The synopsis for The CEO’s Scandalous Affair seems interesting to say the least: “Anna is a secretary in a Miami company. Her boss, Parker, is a good-looking man. Needless to say, she is attracted to him, but she never lets it show. One day Parker has a family meeting to discuss leadership of the company after his father’s sudden death. After the family meeting, Parker decides to go to London on a whim and tells Anna to come with him. Anna can’t help but feel excited by his invitation but reminds herself that he’s still her boss. Little does she know that he’s begun to have feelings for her, too!”
Anna is an assistant to Parker who is the CEO of an influential company, however, after seeing Anna getting out of the shower Parker admits he finds her attractive and admires her skill and determination. After going out to dinner the pair realise that they are attracted to one another but want to keep their relationship professional for the time being since Anna has a past, she can’t talk about.
However, things get difficult when a spy is suspected at the company and Anna is nervous as she was accused of espionage in the past and despite being declared innocent it didn’t change what the papers wrote about her. While Anna is suspected at the beginning of the investigation Parker thinks she is innocent, and they soon transfer their relationship from professional to romantic. Things take a turn when information is still being leaked and now Anna’s past has come to light, she is the number one suspect and is let go from the company.
On her way to move back to her home town where her life fell apart in the beginning Anna is heartbroken as she really liked Parker but a phone call from a man named Bally Lynch changes everything as he confirms Anna story that she is innocent and was used by the man she was dating at the time. Parker realising he was a fool to doubt Anna rushes to stop her moving and tells her that she is needed by the company, by him and that is all it takes for her to stay with him.

Anna has tried to avoid being noticed since a terrible mistake in judgement almost ruined her career. She is now the demure secretary to ceo Parker, but not so demure he does not see her beauty once he catches her having a shower in his office. The two start a relationship, but Parker’s business suffers because someone is leaking information to their competitors. Could Anna be involved?... An interesting variation of an otherwise traditional ceo-secretary play, an a definitely enjoyable read.

Due to some kind of error, I had trouble downloading the file, and then I guess it expired? It was impossible for me to read the book due to these errors. NetGalley won’t let me post this without a star ranking.

This was ok. Not really a favourite for me. It is a story about a young woman whose boss falls for her but she is suspected of being a company spy. Eventually the truth comes out that she isnt the spy but is it possible for her to then move ahead by falling for the man who sacked her?

I thought this was ok and I enjoyed the artwork.

Another a secretary and boss relationship from our romance supplier Harlequin. Meet Anna, a secretary in Miami company. Parker, her boss, is a good looking man who happened to see her when she was bathing. Since then, Parker could not get Anna's image from her mind. He was just into her. He then looked for a way to go with Anna and a trip to London was one of the ways.

The gloomy London has become a place where they finally attracted to each other either physically and emotionally. Sadly, our Anna still resisted on it because she was haunted by her past. She was afraid that Parkee found out what happened to her in the past.

Despite of its end of the story which is pretty predictable, this romance in manga-style comes up as a sweet thing to read. I love the chemistry between the hero and heroine. Needless to say that the heroine is portrayed as a strong woman who does not easily crawl over men. Ah, defo a sweet romance, a manga lover would cherish!

Rating 1.5/5

This story was immensely flawed. It was poorly written and way too cheesy to be a romance. While the plot line was there, the writing fell through and the delivery was a failure.

The stories between secretaries and bosses are not exactly my cup of tea....

Le storie tra i capi e le segretarie non sono proprio le mie preferite, anzi....

THANKS NETGALLEY FOR THE PREVIEW!

I received this manga from Netgalley in exchange of an honest review.

Oh my at this cover! The faces are a bit off, but I do like the sparks that fly between these characters. A secretary and her boss relationship, mmm this could go many ways. Ending up in romance or ending in tragedy. Either way, this is Harlequin, there would be drama (and from the start there is a secret past, oh!). :P

Um, I understand that you are muddy and wet, but to use your boss his shower? Without him knowing? Um. Um. Um.... Why?

And dude, Anna is still very pretty and a beauty. Just because she dresses somberly, has her hair up, and all that, doesn't mean she is not beautiful. :| Urgh. The same happens later when Anna shows up in a dress with her hair loose. Everyone is commenting on how beautiful she is and how she is totally different? Really? Am I the one who is blind? I don't see much of a change, and Anna is always gorgeous. No matter what she wears.

The secret is not out yet, but we finally get a glimpse in what happened in her past and why she is hiding. I am not too sure how I feel about our girl now. I know, I know terrible for me to judge her, and maybe there is more to it, but I don't like people who cheat/deceive. Ah, we find out more about them, mm, from what I could gather now it is not that she deceived someone, but that someone was deceiving her. Weird.

They finally had the talk. They are clearly attracted to each other, and I am happy to see that they are now talking about things. Anna wants to keep her job, she can't do that if she gets a relationship with Parker. Parker is readily suggesting that he would help her out with another job, but she is not budging. I am glad he respected her opinion.

Oh good grief. I know Anna is suspicious, but really? You don't even think any further than that? You aren't even going to find more proof? You are just going to blame her? *sighs* And then it is all solved so easily that it made me groan.

"Work is very important to me... but I may like your kisses more." OK, not the right moment, I am still not happy about the whole spy thing, but I was also swooning and delighted that they are finally taking it a step further. Also, no, I don't see this as a spoiler. Anyone who has read a harlequin (manga) knows that the characters will always end up together.

*sighs*DRAAMMMMMAAAAAAAAA. Of course he immediately assumes, of course he immediately gets angry. Thankfully, she was able to put in her word, that is a change from several other Harlequin Manga I read.

The ending was a bit rushed, especially the romance part, but I am still happy with it. Still happy that these two got their happy ending (again not a spoiler, these Harlequin Manga are pretty much cookie cut and all have the same Happily Ever After Ending).

I did have fun reading this one, and I do love the art style (although Anna's hair could use some more work).
