Art is lovely, but the text is unreadable. Hopefully, the publisher will release a better quality version soon.

Teens will enjoy this story about toxic high school romance, how to be a better friend, and living for yourself rather than being codependent on a mate. Some may say that Freddy makes dumb choices but she is a teenager and I think this accurately portrays teen decision making. TW: abortion, sex with minors

I'm dying to read this and hopefully review it before school breaks for the summer. Unfortunately the galley copy was totally illegible as all other reviewers noted. Really a pity because this is exactly the kind of book we need.

I have heard nothing but wonderful things about this book, but unfortunately I was unable to read most of the text in this particular digital file. The art is beautiful, but it's hard to formulate a full review without all the text. I'm looking forward to reading and re-reviewing this book when it releases in May.

The art style and use of space is excellent, but unfortunately, most of the text is unreadable in this review copy. I am nonetheless excited to read a finished copy of what seems like a complex and moving queer story.

I received a copy of this ARC from the publisher and Netgalley, Unfortunatley, I really couldn’t read the text.., and from what I saw of the art it wasn’t as beautiful as I had hoped from the cover... but maybe it will all look better when I get my hands on a higher quality copy and can see it all clearly?! I don’t feel comfortable giving it a star review because I wasn’t able to read it. The site makes me post a star rating so please ignore my three star rating... it seemed safest to the rating of the book.

This is a hard one to review because it is an awesome book and what parts of it I could make out were amazing, but the galley copy is abysmal and almost impossible to read.

Freddy is in love with Laura Dean. But Laura Dean keeps breaking up with Freddy. Her friends know Laura is not good for Freddy and Freddy knows she is not happy with Laura. Still the cycle continues. After Laura breaks up with her for the third time, Freddy writes to an advice column, goes to a psychic, and finally starts to see the negatives to Laura. As the two continue to come back to each other, Freddy meets a new girl in town and her best friend Doodle goes through a serious situation. These seems to open Freddy's eyes to Laura and she is able to finally move on.

I will preface my review with saying the eARC I received was not complete. The text was difficult to read on my ereader and the ending was missing a few pages. From what I did read, I really liked the story. This is a teen book we don't see a lot. It looks at unhealthy relationships and manipulative relationships and how difficult it is to get out of them. There is a diverse cast of characters and Tamaki's art is beautiful as always.

I will definitely seek this book out when it is published to see the finished version. I would recommend this book for purchase.

I'm familiar with Tamaki's work so I feel comfortable awarding this four stars even though I could barely read the text in the PDF. Furthermore, I found the formal elements of this graphic novel to be absolutely stunning. The choice of grey and light pink for the color scheme are mesmerizing and deliver a really aesthetically pleasing look. I also found that layout and position of different panels was also very well thought out and created a manga styled feel. I was also taken with the stylization of each and every character; they felt original and had their own personal style with the attention to detail.

As far as I can tell, the story is about Freddy, who is dating Laura Dean, a female football-jock stereotype and all around Lothario. Of course, Freddy is completely smitten with Laura Dean despite her behavior and the graphic novel mainly deals with Freddy slowly realizing that she can do better than her current girlfriend.

Beautiful art, but I couldn't read any of the words due to the low quality of the pdf. I contacted the publisher in hopes of fixing the issue, but I have heard nothing back.

Really amazing art, however I was unable to read this graphic novel as the low scale resolution made it impossible to read the words...
