I received a free ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. A cute follow up to the first Megabat book. A light, silly story aimed toward younger chapter book readers.

Megabat is such an adorable little creature and he's just as lovable in this book as in the first! This is a great series for early readers.

This is the first book I’ve read with a bat as the main character! I don’t like bats, because we had one in our house years ago and it was very creepy. However, this Megabat is adorable!

I loved the way Megabat speaks. He sounded like a child. He uses the wrong verbs and pronouns, which was cute and innocent. He is dating a pigeon, called Birdgirl. The bird only coos, and doesn’t speak English. Megabat has a continuous feud going on with the squirrels in the yard, which he calls “puffer rats.” I loved the way he saw the world.

In this story, Megabat doesn’t like that Daniel has a new pet cat. He doesn’t like the attention that the cat receives, so he does a series of things to get the cat in trouble, but he only ends up getting himself or Daniel in trouble instead. Though he is a bat, this story could be relatable to kids if they get a new sibling or classmate who threatens their position. They would have to learn how to accept this new person rather than get rid of them, since we all have to deal with new people at some point in our lives.

This was a fun story! It would be great for kids or adults.

Thank you Penguin Random House Canada for providing a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is the second mega bat book I have read and yet again I loved it. Such a tender book for children about friendship and acceptance. I will be reading this to my class of 7 year olds as I know they will love it just as much as I did.

Megabat and Fancy Cat is the second Megabat book written by Anna Humphrey and illustrated by Kass Reich. While those that have read the first book will have a better grasp on the characters andknow how they came to be friends, I think all readers should be able to pick things up pretty quickly. All they need to know is that Megabat is a talking fruitbat that lives with his human best friend.

Megabat was looking forward to Christmas morning: presents, playing toys, smooshfruit and watching Star Wars. But then Daniel opened his last, most special present. Daniel thinks this might be the best Christmas present yet: a beautiful cat named Priscilla! He's always wanted a pet. Megabat is not sure he likes this cat. She tastes most hairy. Daniel loves his new cat! She's fun to play with, and she's so soft and fluffy. Megabat is not soft OR fluffy. He's not purebred and he doesn't have a big, beautiful swishy tail. What if Daniel loves Priscilla more than Megabat? This is truly a disturbance in the Force. Megabat and Birdgirl must find a way to get rid of this trubble cat once and for all! Calamity ensues as Megabat and Birdgirl try to come up with ways to get rid of Priscilla. But is there more than meets the eye with this furry menace?

Megabat and Fancy Cat is a fun story about friendship and compromise in the guise of an adorable bat feeling pushed aside by his best friend. When Priscilla joins the family only Megabat and Dad seem to be less than pleased, but soon only Megabat and Birdgirl are unhappy. Megabat feels left out and unloved, so comes up with a slew of crazy schemes to get the cat out of the house. Of course things backfire, and a good conversation solves the majority of the problems, as is true with many book for children and adults. I found Megabat's speech patterns and typing to be cute and fun, although it could be a mixed bag with young readers. Some might be glad to see a character that struggles with something they struggle with, or it might further the issue if they are really struggling with spelling. I think the story is a fun read that many kids will relate to, weather it is because of a new shifts in family or friendships- the explanation of love growing and always having enough is one that everyone sometimes needs to hear.

Megabat and Fancy Cat is a sweet and entertain read with plenty of fun and solid lessons to adsorb. Great choice of transitional and emerging readers- as well as animal lovers. A fun read for anyone that picks it up.

Megabat is back! But along with his pigeon friend, there's a new addition to the family. One that Megabat isn't very excited for!

It's almost Christmas, and Megabat is settled with Daniel's family for good. But, as the family is ready to celebrate the "dead tree day" with presents, Megabat will witness an unpleasant surprise: there's a new member in the family. A beautiful cat. And Daniel is excited! Megabat? Not so much.

As Daniel starts paying more and more attention to the newly adopted family member, Megabat is scared that he won't be loved anymore. Surely, he can find a way to get rid of this hairy four-legged thing? This is definitely the beginning of a new adventure!

A dearly loved character our friend Megabat is back! This is the second book about the adventures of this adorable little bat in his new home, and it's absolutely delightful! Funny at times, and serious when it needs to be, this is a story about jealousy, insecurities, friendship, but, above all else, a story about love. With the help of our little friends, young readers will spend their time enjoying a delightful story, while at the same time they will learn that love isn't divided; instead, it multiplies, and it grows stronger and stronger.

Megabat is a tender story ideal for middle school children, and it's especially useful when a new member is about to join a family. It works great as a read-along with the parents, too! Highly recommended.

Adorable chapter book where a bat and cat become friends, great book for young to middle grade readers to read on their own or with parents. Story is cute for all children and the writing style and word choices are a good amount of challenging.

A big thank you to NetGalley and Penguin/Random House Canada/ Tuundra Books for the ARC.I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is children's book. I believe it is part of a series. I was a bit confused why does he have a bat? How did he get it? A little background would have been helpful. I actually enjoyed the book, the story was interesting g and engaging. Learning to deal with a new family member, and jealousy is an important part of growing up. The graphics were.cute. I rate this a 4 star.

The first book in this series, Megabat, was on a book award list for my library and quick;y became a fast favorite for my students. All year they have asked "Will there be a sequel?". Now I can tell them, Yes! This time out, everyone's favorite fruit bat is feeling threatened by his best buddy Daniel's new pet - a cat. Kids will love reading Megabat's continuing saga, as he and Daniel make new friends and continue their fascination with all things Star Wars. A guaranteed winner
