Going down is a super short book by Barbara Bell. The heroines had some fun at the bathroom stall at the office's Christmas party, but there was some misunderstanding and since then things have been awkward between them. Now though, they are trapped in an elevator together and they are forced to face each other and their feelings.

The book might be short (13k words), but I was very happy with what we got. It's like a second chance romance, so there is no insta-lust or something similar. This is the story of them been brave enough to get their happy ending. It was a little angsty but in a good way. You should be prepared for a quicky read with some hot scenes.

I think the use of third person limited narration just didn’t work for me - as a character, Ellie lacked the personality and charisma necessary to propel the story in a way that was entertaining for me. She was so nervous and unsure that I felt uncomfortable for a lot of the story, which did not make the experience enjoyable for me. The story also felt very one sided. I wouldn’t discourage anyone from reading it, but it just wasn’t a winner for me. 2 out of 5 wine glasses.

This was pretty darn cute, well, if you can call a novella involving fisting “cute.” Boss + employee and forced proximity are some of my favorite tropes, so while I’ve find the Dirty Bits line a bit hit and miss, I’m happy to add this one to one of my favorites!

“My boss said to phone the fire department so…” He trailed off as if expecting them to tell him that they weren’t really stuck. He didn’t need to phone the fire department. This was all just a big misunderstanding.
Except it wasn’t and the prospect of being trapped in three square meters of space with the woman she had barely been able to speak to without imagining naked was becoming terrifyingly real.”

Three months after what Ellie views as a one night stand with her boss at the office Christmas party, Ellie’s become an expert at avoiding Casey. Though Ellie’s bisexual, she’d never previously been with a woman, so when Ellie put the brakes on their encounter, Casey misunderstands and leaves. For her part, Ellie believes that Casey leaving means that she’s rejected her.

“I didn’t want you to tell me it meant nothing,” Ellie continued, just to escape that silence. “I mean, I already knew that. You’re…” beautiful, successful, able to get anyone you want “…my boss. And I’m…” me “…your employee. I knew from the start it wasn’t serious. It couldn’t be. And then you walked out and I knew it and I… I just didn’t want to face it.”

Ellie is adorably awkward, though I could see how she could be annoying to some readers. She’s so reluctant to interact with Casey that in order to avoid their usual pre-ONS coffee dates, she gives up coffee completely. Being stuck in an elevator with her is literally her worst nightmare. Casey is a bit more of a cypher, as we don’t get her POV. Ellie calls Casey’s aesthetic “broody stoicism” and I think that fits pretty well. She’s not exactly an ice queen, but it does seem like she’s reluctant to express her feelings, though some of that can be attributed to her believing that she had used the power imbalance in their relationship to force Ellie into a relationship. I liked how, through a lot of awkwardness, they were forced to confront their misunderstandings (and then, of course, have sex).

I liked the little touches of humor – like Ellie freaking out when she realizes she’s wearing her laundry day underwear, or when Casey gets her hand stuck trying to take off Ellie’s bra. I found Ellie’s voice hilarious in general. As for cons, it does have a bit of a sex-by-checklist vibe – besides fingering, there’s also fisting, the titular “going down,” and some grinding. It felt a bit more like trying to force in all these different experiences rather than the characters spontaneously just having sex.

Overall, I quite liked this one, and would recommend it to anyone looking for a quick and steamy f/f read!

There is Hot and then there is Steaming Hot and that is what this book it. It is not a one and done encounter. The characters process what is going on , what went on, and when they finally talk to one another, even their dialogue sizzles because what they are saying is so real and raw to expose themselves to one another. I love erotic books and this one is one of the best I've read. Do yourself a favor and get this book.

This is a short novella and entirely well done. Despite the limited number of words, the book has all elements of a full-length novel: angst, resolution, sex scenes plus a little bit of getting to know the MCs.

Ellie and her boss Casey had a one-off stand in a Christmas party. However, after that, Ellie has been keeping her distance and even blown off Casey’s overtures of friendship. One evening, they are trapped in an elevator (one of the most popular tropes and perhaps fantasies also). Their chemistry reasserts itself and this time, Ellie doesn’t let it end with awkwardness.

A one-sitting ‘quickie’ read which is quite good.

I needed something short, hot, and steamy to cleanse my reading palate from my last novel, and this down and dirty novella fit the bill perfectly! It’s totally and unashamedly pure erotica, but somehow it managed a (surprisingly well formulated) plot and actual feelings between MCs. Thats exactly the type of smut that gets my motor running :)

My only complaint... I really don’t understand the whole <spoiler>fisting</spoiler> thing, especially on what’s essentially a first time with a partner, but whatever. To each their own. Surprisingly though, I managed to move on fairly easily. Only a slight amount of cringing for that brief moment...

For what this was, a short novella that’s shamelessly centered on the horizontal tango, I loved it! If you need some quality smut in your life and can handle a brief cringy moment too, I can recommend this one. 4 stars!

This is a short Erotica is about a Boss - Casey and employee - Ellie trapped in an elevator. They had a previous fling at a Christmas party a few months ago. I thought this was a good erotic short story. They have had almost no communication since Christmas so they are really awkward with each other initially. Once they are able to communicate with each other they have some very hot sex.

Again, I thought this was a good short erotica piece. At times the flow could have been better and I feel the novella could have worked better in the present instead of going from present to past.

I will rate this one 3 stars.

This is short and sexy read. I really enjoyed it. Ellie and Casey are co-workers and this is about a misunderstanding. It is a fun and hot novella that'll leave you wanting for more.

*Bisexual heroine.
*Hot for the boss.
*Second chance romance.
*Consent is sexy.

This is a short f/f erotica novella. Ellie and Casey had a making out session that ended badly and the book starts three months later with both of them trapped in an elevator in their workplace. So now they have to actually talk about their feelings .... could this be love?

I usually hate flashbacks but I didn't mind here, it suited the novella and it made things more interesting.

One of the obstacles that these two have to overcome is the fact that Casey is her boss and I liked how it was handled. Both of them know that Casey is in a "position of power" but she doesn't manipulate Ellie in any way.

The sex scenes were well written and hot and consent was an important part of the foreplay. (Consent is always present but here they used the word and they talked about it, and asked what the other wanted). There was only a tiny sex scene that I found more painful than pleasurable but that's just me.

I don't want to say much because this is a really short novella but it was a sexy and sweet f/f erotica romance.

Cute and short story. Rhe only thing I do not like about short stories is that we don't get to know the characters that well. Overall this was a good though. Getting stuck in an elevator always leads to sexy times lol.

This was a cute short sexy read.

Ellie and Casey had hook up at a Christmas party. Since Casey is Ellie boss she been avoiding her until they both get stuck in a elevator.

As they wait to get rescue they talk about what happen and one lead to another they realize they have a deeper connection then just physical.

Ellie and her boss, Casey, may have crossed a line in a bathroom stall at the previous work Christmas Party. It’s been months and Ellie has been avoiding Casey and only speaking to her boss about work matters when they used to be friends with each other. It takes getting trapped in an elevator for a couple of hours together for Ellie to relive the mind blowing experience, and try to figure out where they went wrong.

The sex between the two is going to leave you fanning yourself and wondering how Ellie could have ever let Casey disappear out of her life as a potential lover. There’s a specific part that I wasn’t really into and I’m finding this in a lot of lesbian erotica, check the tags for that spoiler, but the rest of it was great. I’d definitely want to visit Ellie and Casey again to find out how their relationship has progressed.

Another quick dirty bits read about Ellie and her boss Casey and an undeniable attraction that has become a misunderstanding. Can being trapped in an elevator allow them to sort things out. A sexy story with a HEA.

A very sexy short story featuring a rekindled attraction between a boss and the woman she had a bathroom fling with at their last holiday party. Hot, great eBook library lending addition. I wish there were more F/F romance novels out there!

Part of the Dirty Bits series, Going Down is a lesbian erotically sinful short novella. With a inner office romance that is trapped in an elevator, what ever should two women do to spare their time?

For me, there wasn't much to this storyline, yes, there was a little bit of self-pit party of emotions and a whole lotta erotic nature (which we all like, right?) but I wanted more plot personally. I have read other Dirty Bit novellas and I feel like this one just didn't make the cut.

That was a sweet, sexy HOT short read. Great dynamics, really just the two characters, and a great page turner.

Reading more like a short story than a full length novel, Barbara Bell’s “Going Down” features an erotic lesbian romance between corporate boss and employee. Forced to deal with an abruptly ended sexual encounter at their staff Christmas Party a few months prior, Ellie and Casey find themselves stuck in an elevator late one evening. Waiting for a rescue from the fire department provides these succinct but well detailed characters the perfect scenario to face each other - emotionally and physically - without a route of escape. Steamy yet stereotypically set-up sex scenes follow suit as both women act on their attraction to one another and reveal deeper emotions alongside their physical connection. Thanks to Netgalley and Carina Press for an ebook adavanced readers copy in lieu of an honest review.
