I love it when expert advice on stressful situations is told with wit, humor, and snark. I don't know about you, but I hope that I have this book nearby when shit hits the fan.

This is a fun little book full of information you may need and a lot you hopefully will not need. This book will make a great gift. Enjoy

This is a fantastic series and I still have the earlier version of this book. I enjoyed reading the updated scenarios, and will buy this version as part of graduation gifts. Part funny and part practical, this is a book that always gets read!

I've owned a copy or two of the typical survival handbooks, and have read more than one set of directions on how to built a lean-to if I should find myself trapped in the forest. While I enjoy these books and find them useful, I was pleasantly surprised to find that this book held so much more! What a modern take on the dangers of daily life. I found myself (digitally) flipping between scenarios and occasionally laughing to myself about the twists and turns that life can throw at us. This was the perfect balance between useful and funny, and I'm sure I'll find myself using the advice offered here in the future!

This book cracked me up. I don't know if I'll use the info, but I learned some fun things. Unfortunately, there was an issue with my e-galley so I wasn't able to read the whole book. Unfortunately, it froze in the part about how to identify a malignant clown? How am I going to know now? Intentional? Well-played.

Funny and ridiculous but enjoyable. Hopefully none of us will ever have to use these skills! This is an enjoyable series of books.

Not the best survival handbook out there. I know this because my husband has a billion of them. But it’s a good bathroom book.

I loved this book! I thought it was super interesting and put together in a really fun way. The humor mixed into it was outstanding and I felt like it was a great read.

Awesome book for emergency situations! Full of how to steps and tips and illustrations. Very useful and educational with humor added and some unlikely scenarios as well, but you just never know when you might need to jump from a moving motorcycle to car! But you also never know when you will need to escape other situations such as breaking down a door or getting bitten by a snake. It is filled with very useful information that I feel better knowing now. Great entertaining read!

Thank you Netgalley and Chronicle Books for this advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review.

To me this is one of those bathroom books. It was a good bathroom book but I never knew better until now what that meant. It is funny and I laughed out loud a few times so people might be wondering what your doing in there or why its taking so long. Some of these things would never happen and some depend on if you live in that type of area but all in all loved it.

This is not meant to be a lost in the woods type of survival book. Most of the situations documented here can be survived through common sense application but to see it written down gives the actions some legitimacy. The authors do give some tongue in cheek advice such as what to do if buried in a coffin. Advice on how to win a sword fight is somwewhat interesting but useful only if you can put in serious practice. All in all a fun read but mostly without much practical usefulness.

Delightfully entertaining and educational as always. I truly enjoy the illustrations and have a laugh while learning.

In 7 chapters, you'll learn how to survive many dangerous scenarios.
Some are possible:
- Snakebite
- Getting lost in the desert/mountains
- Earthquake
- Knife/bullet wound

Some are comically unlikely:
- How to leap from your motorcycle into a car
- How to win a sword fight

Fortunately, most of the scenarios are not jokes.
They are possible.
Also, it's loaded with illustrations.
Therefore, this book is practical, entertaining, and educational.
That explains why it's a perennial bestseller.
This is the 2019 edition.

The Worst-Case Scenario Handbook had me laughing and even learning how to fight off animals. It is a keeper. I think it is a handy book ...just in case. Lovely scenarios, you just never know. Get this and just take it all in and smile, learn and buy.
Thanks to the Publisher and NetGalley for the advance copy for my review.

A practical and useful guide on how to survive certain disasters and scenarios. Some of the extreme situations had me chuckling a bit (being attacked by a clown). Other situations scared me even more than I already was. For example, I am not a good flyer and often get extremely nervous when the plane hits turbulence, so on the section of how to survive in-flight emergencies made me even more fearful the next time I have to fly and experience the bumps and disturbances.

Overall, this was a quick read. I would suggest taking your time reading it though as it has a lot of useful information that, hopefully, no one will need but would be good to have in the back of your mind for those "just in case" emergencies.

This series is usually a bit funny, with a ridiculous amount of practical advice if you are in said odd situation. One of my favorite parts of this book is the "fang and claw" - basically how to escape any animal attack. The most practical advice for me at the moment was the entries on flying (how to deal with turbulence, stop a hijacking) and how to take a punch. They were helpful, with a smattering of humor mostly in the "pro tip" section.

I was sent a copy of this book from Netgalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

I have about 6 books in this series. I adore it. The update gives information about hackers and possibly murderous clowns in addition to getting away from a drone attack.

This book is a quick, easy read and packed with tidbits I hope I'll never end up using.

A nice updated edition to this book. I enjoyed reading these as a kid and hope that our patrons and parents will also get something out of them.
