The Cowboy Meets His Match is the second book in the Haywire Brides series. This is a marriage of convenience between a Texas rancher and a mail-order bride from Boston. Emily Fields is running from Boston. Her family is involved in scandal and she believes that in Texas no one will be aware about it. She later finds out how wrong she is. Chase McKnight is a rancher who's father passed away and stipulated in his will that he needed to marry in order to keep the ranch.
I loved this story! It caught my attention from the first pages. I liked how they ended up being married. They mistakenly marry the wrong person without them knowing until the deed is done. Since there's no getting out of the marriage, they agree to stay together for a year. I consider this a slow burn romance. I liked how they slowly began to know each other, though they were attracted to each other. They fought against their feelings because they didn't know each other very well. It is her past that gets in the way of them having their HEA. Luckily love prevailed!!
It was a delightful read that I highly recommend!! This is a new author to me and I enjoyed her style of writing. I will continue with this series and I will go back to reading the first in the series.

Like the first book in this series, this was a pleasant, easy read albeit rather unremarkable. I liked the hero and heroine but, much like the first book, found the mystery to be more interesting than the romance itself.

I love this book!!! I love mail order bride series, but this one was never dull, married the wrong partner, both bull headed, but cared deeply for each other, and when threats against the home place or one another feeling ran deep

I haven't read any books by Margaret Brownley but I will definitely be checking out other stories by this author. This is a sweet historical romance set in Texas with a mail order bride. It is not however your typical mail order bride story and it caught my attention right from the start and kept it throughout the story. Brownley creates real characters with excellent descriptions of people and places. I would recommend this especially for readers who enjoy historical western romances.

Publisher synopsis:
His first mistake was marrying her.
His second was falling in love.

Chase McKnight will do anything to secure his family's ranch—but marriage to a complete stranger? That's a hard pill to swallow. Yet the will is clear: Chase needs a wife by his side if he wants to keep his home, so he meets his veiled lady at the courthouse steps and reluctantly says "I do."

Too bad he married the wrong bride.

When Boston runaway Emily Fields agreed to marry a Texas stranger to escape her family's scandal, she wasn't prepared to get hitched to the wrong cowboy! Stuck in a secret compromise, she has one year to learn the ways of the ranch and convince Chase's family they're happily married. But when the lie becomes true, the past catches up to them and they must save the love they never expected..

This book was so fun to read. It was pretty clean, so there was the slow burn and the tension you could cut with a knife. I really liked the mix up and how the events unfolded, even from the beginning. There was a lot of good chemistry, a lot of misunderstanding and a lot of determination to get through in the most respectful way. This is a really good book, one you could read again and again!

Talk about an accidental bride. Emily is at a loss that takes her a few days to figure out what to do with her life. Chase has his all figured out and hers to if she's willing to go along with it. Might be the best decision of her life. I really enjoyed reading, The Cowboy Meets His Match.

Their exes should get together.

I like Ginny. I wish she could learn Braille.

His step-brother is slimy.

Unfortunately, Joe's attitude was pretty common.

Aw, Rusty, tell her you love her!

I have never heard of Tall Barney Beal. How tall was he?

Drought and a lightning storm are a bad combination.

Small towns, man.
