Maddox Kincade and her team are tasked with stopping therelease of a deadly bio weapon. They have 48 hours to do it. Maddox has to convince her ex to help her. Trouble is Cole has bitter feelings towards Maddox and isn’t inclined to help.

This is my first book by this author and it won’t be the last. The book is filled with non stop action that will keep you on the edge of your seat, with the bonus of a romance thrown into the mix. Thank you to net galley for an advanced copy.

Thanks to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for an advanced read in exchange for this review.

Every Last Breath is the first of a new action trilogy by Juno Rushdan.  Maddox Kincade is tasked with neutralizing a bioweapon.  She recruits the love of her life - Cole- a man she supposedly betrayed and believed she thought was dead.  He's mad.  They are now working side by side to find the man responsible for the bioweapon.

This book is a fast paced action thriller.  I enjoyed Maddox's character.  I did think too much was spent on her relationship with Cole, but I guess the author wanted the book to take a sexy turn too.  Enjoyed the thrill ride with this one and look forward to the next in the series.

Smoldering passions, edge-of-your-seat intrigue and non-stop action explodes off each page in Juno Rushdan’s EVERY LAST BREATH!

Maddox is a top gun in an ultra-covert black ops unit, but her latest assignment requires the help of the one man who shattered her heart, Cole Matthews. In a game of life or death, can these two pull off the impossible? Undercover operations, a deadly auction and millions of lives on the line…and the clock is ticking…

Be prepared for raging tempers, questionable loyalties and a romance that simmers with garrote sharp emotions. This romantic thriller is simply brilliant and the pen of Juno Rushdan is like the baton wielded by a new maestro!

Let’s re-cap: Razor taut tension – Searing heat – Brilliant writing! Read it, you’ll thank Juno Rushdan!

Juno Rushdan’s debut novel, Every Last Breath, is intense. Suspense, action, and explicit sex scenes are about equally dispersed through the book. What is missing are the quiet sequels after the action to allow the reader to recuperate.

Protagonist Maddox moves in the world of the Gray Box, a covert extra-legal ops group that does work the CIA and FBI cannot. I loved the strength of special agent Maddox. She's capable and tough cookie who remains feminine and who refuses to crumble under pressure. She mourns the death of her fiance. Though shocked when she learns he faked his death, she must team up with Cole to save the world from a mutated version of smallpox.

Cole is a total alpha male, ferocious, strong, and emotionally-wounded. The couple must put aside old—and new—feelings and sexual attraction long enough to save the world.

I enjoyed reading the author bio and learning that Rushdan is a former intelligence officer herself. This background allows the verisimilitude that jumps at the reader from every page. A great book if you like the romance trope of second chance love and unrelenting action.

A white-hot, blisteringly sexy thriller that brings new authority to the genre. After tearing through this book that's filled with heart-pounding fight scenes, deep romance, and unforgettable characters, I loved getting to the author bio and seeing that Rushdan herself is a former military intelligence officer. So AWESOME. Super excited for the second book in the series!

Writing a Romance/Thriller is no small feat. The book has to deliver suspense, action, and simmering sexuality in equal measure. It's a delicate balance to find, and I'm happy to say that Juno Rushdan delivers on all counts.

The romantic leads have a believable will-they/won't-they dynamic, and their spark intensifies as the plot picks up steam. (Favorite line: "Not even Superman had the misfortune of being attracted to his kryptonite.")

The world of covert ops and layered espionage soaks every page, and the occasional POV chapter from a mysterious assassin keeps the action intense while still allowing the main characters the chance to catch their breath. It's a clever technique, and helps Rushdan create a setting that feels like it poses true danger to our heroes. There's no bruise-free James Bond types in this book-- physical combat exacts a toll, even from the victors. But while the operatives at The Gray Box team carry the physical and emotional wounds you'd expect, they can also find romance.

This debut novel tics all the boxes for the thriller and romance, and readers of both genres will delight in the story and look forward to the rest of the series.

First time reading this author and I absolutely loved this story. So much suspense, action, and sex. There is a cliffhanger and I can’t wait to read the next one. This will definitely keep you on the edge of your seat, so be prepared.

Every Last Breath by Juno Rushdan.
I normally prefer psychological thrillers rather than spy thrillers. That being said it was a good story but had way too much romance which I cant stand. I would have preferred a bit more mystery and some suspense. ⭐⭐⭐Three stars.

This is the first book for Juno Rushdan. It falls well within my wheelhouse of romantic suspense. The story follows Maddox and Cole and Maddox's team of super secret spies trying to stop a bioweapon from being launched. This novel was an entertaining read with lots of action. I enjoyed learning about Maddox and Cole as a couple (it's a reconnection from the past storyline). It looks like this is the start of a series for the author and I am excited to read the next book!

Thank you Netgalley for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This is a very well written book and my first novel by this author. I loved the strength and bad ass moves of special agent Maddox. She's tough but maintains her feminity. She morns the death of her fiance and is shocked when she finds out he's really alive. She enlist him to help her stop a madman from exposing civilians to the small pox virus. She's capable and is torn between keeping her distance from Cole who broke her heart when he fakes his death or give in and rekindle their love.
As for Cole's character I have mixed feelings. He's a ferocious, alpha of a male who's out for revenge and feels betrayed by Maddox. He says he feels hatred for her and yet when he's s around her he ends up showing affection and rubbing her feet. I mean make up your mind already. He gives up his anger towards her too easily to be realistic. Anyway, he ends up showing her how his love for her did not die and together they save the world.
Great book if you like action and second chance romance.
