Bobby and Teagan...I love them! Talk about experiencing pain and hardship, but never giving up. Both of them went through what has to be two of the most painful events I can imagine, and the emotion and steps that they shared in this story were told brilliantly and beautifully.

I was excited to return to the Shaughnessy Brothers and family as that is one of my favorite literary families and with Bobby being in the mix I knew there would be fun times, snarky moments and love. Samantha Chase delivered that and more by introducing him to Teagan, showing his relationship with his parents, nieces/nephews, Quinn and more. I could not stop smiling and chuckling over all the couple interactions and “gotcha” moments between characters. These stories have such loving and funny family moments, but they also have great lessons and moments to reflect about. Bobby’s dad is a wise man and I loved when Teagan was able to change how Quinn looked at Bobby by asking a simple question.

I adore this family and am so glad we got to see how everyone was doing, as well as the Shaughnessy band!!! Great read and most certainly recommend it!

Thank you NetGalley, Samantha Chase and Sourcebooks Casablanca for the chance to read this book and share my opinions!

TANGLED UP IN YOU by Samantha Chase is the seventh novel in the popular Shaughnessy Brothers series. It was so nice to go back and visit old friends and make some new ones along the way! This author’s strength is in her story telling. She puts together a solid story that not only tugs at your heart strings, but also leaves you at the end with a group of characters that have become part of your life. Most importantly, she leaves you wanting so much more.
There are many wonderful, complex characters to capture your heart. We met Quinn Shaughnessy and his wife Anna earlier in the series. They are here to support Anna’s brother Bobby Hannigan, a policeman who is dealing with a life-changing injury. This story also belongs to Teagan Shaughnessy, Quinn’s cousin, who has just recently moved to town to begin her teaching career. She is looking to get a fresh start with her young son after her fiancée was killed after being deployed overseas. Teagan brings her parents with her as her support system.
The love story that develops between Bobby and Teagan is very tender and heart-felt. It is at times funny and at other times heart-breaking. It is especially difficult to watch Teagan as she wants Bobby to make a full recovery, but at the same time, she is terrified of losing him if he returns to work. This is story telling at its best.
Over the years, I’ve come to expect well-written, 5-star reads from Samantha Chase, and TANGLED UP IN YOU does not disappoint. The Shaughnessy family now seems like the family next door to me, and I hope we’ll be visiting them again soon.
I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader Copy of this book and the views expressed are my honest opinions.

Stephannie 5 Star Review:

Samantha Chase’s Tangled Up In You is an amazing story of man who gets injured in the line of duty and struggles to accept the fact that he might never go back in the field again and be stuck behind a desk for the rest of his life. He is angry and not the best patient when family tries to help him deal with his new realty.

Teagan Shaughnessy is a single mom who moves from Colorado to North Carolina when her parents decide they want to move. It's a great move because Teagan found her dream job as an elementary school guidance counselor here in North Carolina. Teagan son Lucas’ father died before he was born. So she has worked hard to put herself through college while raising her son with some help from her parents. Teagan doesn't date ever but when Bobby shows up at a family barbeque.

This was a great story. I didn't read the previous books and could still enjoy this one. Teagan and Bobby start out as friends and the chemistry and their feelings change things quickly. that they can only be friends but, that quickly changes. Even Bobby and Lucas develop a relationship.

The problem is Teagan is afraid of Bobby is a cop and his hope is to go back out in the field. Teagan has dealt with someone dying. She is scared. She wants to be with him but isn't sure she should take the risk. Can she find it in herself to be with Bobby? I love this story and book. It was a amazing read and so heartfelt.

Having read all of Samantha Chase's Shaughnessy Brothers and Band on the Run series, I have been fully invested in the lives of the Shaughnessys and their extended family. Chase's wonderful writing style and engaging characters have given me many hours of reading enjoyment, and I'm sad to see the series end.

Tangled Up in You features police officer Bobby Hannigan, Quinn Shaughnessy's brother-in-law, who was shot when he happened upon a robbery while off duty. His recuperation is uncertain, and his future as a cop is in limbo. Teagan Shaughnessy is a single mother who has moved to North Carolina to be closer to the family and take a new position after getting her degree.

The attraction between Bobby and Teagan is immediate, but both are afraid to risk following up on it. Teagan dealt with losing her son's father while he was deployed overseas and is afraid of the risks of Bobby's career, while Bobby is terrified of the depth of feeling he has for Teagan. Chase's deftly deals with their apprehensions and places the focus on what's really important.

"Wasn't life about taking risks? Wasn't love about taking risks?"

Bobby and Teagan overcome their fears and earn a hard-won HEA.

"You brought laughter and joy and all that goes with it into my life."

I received a copy from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I heartily recommend this book and both series.

Teagan and Bobby were both people healing from wounds. Bobby's was definitely a more recent and obvious wound in that he'd been shot. Teagan was still healing from losing her son's father when he was killed while deployed overseas. As one quickly learns when dealing with injured people, they aren't always rational or understanding. Bobby is embarrassed by what he feels like are weaknesses brought on my his injury so when it happens, he often strikes out and is angry with others. Teagan simply has refused to put herself back out in the dating world since the death of Lucas' father. She has not wanted to risk the heartbreak to herself or for him.

I love the protective nature Bobby feels for Teagan and Lucas almost instantly even though Teagan is a strong and capable woman. It does get old hearing the family talk about what a "manwhore" he was in the past and how they can't move past it to see that maybe he's changed. I found that part a bit frustrating.
Everyone has a past, good or bad, they should be able to move on from it. There were things with Teagan that were irritating at times too. I understand that the loss of Lucas' father was a defining moment in her life but when she started seeing a police officer, she should have understood then that he was a "police officer" and accepted all that comes with that. Instead, it led to some drama that felt unnecessary - - but I know that happens in the "real world" too. Sometimes we aren't rational people, especially after loss.

Overall, I really enjoyed the romance built between Teagan and Bobby (and Bobby's relationship with Lucas as well). I found the ending that Ms. Chase gave them to be a perfect HEA.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Tangled Up In You – Samantha Chase

I was fortunate to receive this book as an Advance Reader Copy from Netgalley, in exchange for an objective review.

Teagan Shaughnessy is a young, single mother, trying her best to raise her young son Lucas and gain an education. Having lost Lucas’ father to a military demise, she devotes her life to raising their son. She has just moved from Colorado to coastal North Carolina, where she’s landed her dream job.

Bobby Hannigan is a police officer who, while trying to thwart a robbery, took a bullet to his shoulder, that may just end his career. Angry and humiliated that he has to rely on others to assist with his care, he is staying with his parents until he is independent enough to return home to Myrtle Beach and the life he knows.

At a family picnic the two chance to meet and sparks fly immediately. But Bobby remains angry at his disability and and continually isolates himself from Teagan and the things he is beginning to feel for her. Similarly, Teagan is attracted to Bobby, but her determination to forgo a relationship and raise her son has her back-stepping from Bobby. Can these two star-crossed lovers find their way through their difficulties and learn to love?

I chose this book more for the setting (North Carolina) than the storyline, as I used to live there, and I found it to be a quick sweet read! A little dry at times for me, but Lucas was a show stealer quite often. I loved the backstory, and repartee between Bobby & Quinn as well! A part of a series if you love the characters, but easily read as a stand-alone as well. The perfect beach read!!

Although this is the 7th book in a series, it is really a spin off of the original Shaughnessy family. We have met their neighbor Bobby in all of the previous books. This is his story and he gets all tangled up in the Shaughnessy's when he meets cousin Teagen Shaughnessy.

Sparks fly from the start with these two but as with the previous books, there is a slow burn and friendship building before they actually come together. Both Bobby and Teagen have some baggage and need to work on what it means to be in a relationship.

Overall a sweet read. Lot's of humor and Teagen's adorable son made worth the read.

This is book 7 in the Shaughnessy Brothers Series and I loved this book.

This one covers Teagan Shaughnessy and Bobby Hannigan. The chemistry between them is off the charts and hot AF from the moment they meet.

Bobby was shot and injured his shoulder after intervening on a robbery and is struggling with how extensive the damage is and the fear he may not be able to go back to active duty.

Teagan is a single parent an has moved her and her son from Colorado to North Carolina. Her world revolves around her son Lucas and she is still dealing with the loss of his father after he was killed in action before Lucas was born.

I will be honest and say, whilst I loved Bobby and Teagan instantly I did struggle with Teagan at certain points. Her indecisive hot/cold attitude really annoyed me. Whilst I could understand her fear she was extremely unfair on Bobby knowing how he felt about her.

Samantha Chase writes small town romances brilliantly.

3.75 stars--TANGLED UP IN YOU is the seventh instalment in Samantha Chase’s contemporary, adult THE SHAUGHNESSY BROTHERS romance series focusing on a tight knit group of family and friends on the Carolina coast. This is thirty-six year old, police officer Bobby Hannigan, and twenty-seven year old, social worker/guidance counselor Teagan Shaughnessy’s story line. TANGLED UP IN YOU can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Teagan and Bobby) TANGLED UP IN YOU follows the acrimonious relationship between thirty-six year old, police officer Bobby Hannigan, and twenty-seven year old, social worker/guidance counsellor, single mother Teagan Shaughnessy. Several weeks earlier police officer Bobby Hannigan became a statistic, while off-duty, when he was shot in hold-up gone horribly wrong. Fast forward to present, wherein Bobby, impatiently on the mend, and feeling sorry for himself, reluctantly attends a family picnic where he will come face to face with his future. Enter Teagan Shaughnessy, Quinn Shaughnessy’s cousin, and the woman with whom Bobby will fall in love. What ensues is the back and forth, petulant relationship between Bobby and Teagan, and the potential fall-out as Teagan is unable to come to terms with Bobby’s profession and his past.

Teagan Shaughnessy is a single mother who lost the love of her life years before. Meeting Bobby Hannigan stirred something long thought buried and dead, but something Teagan struggled to release and let go. As a single mother Teagan’s first priority is the raising of her son, and falling in love was never on the agenda. Bobby Hannigan struggles with the slow healing process of his injured left shoulder, an injury that could end his career as a police officer in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Battling his family, his attitude and his feelings for Teagan push Bobby’s patience on more than one occasion.

The relationship between Teagan and Bobby is one of immediate attraction but Bobby isn’t in a good place; anguishing over his uncertain future finds Bobby unsure of who he is and what he wants. Teagan endeavors to be the perfect mother but sometimes motherhood is difficult, and in this Teagan has issues of trust, when it comes to her future, and that of her son’s. The $ex scenes fade to black or are mostly implied.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and energetic secondary and supporting characters including Teagan’s cousin Quinn, and his wife Anna, Bobby’s sister. The fracture family dynamics between Bobby and Quinn plays heavily on Bobby and Teagan’s growing relationship.

TANGLED UP IN YOU is a story of family, friendship, uncertainty and trust. The back and forth, yin and yang, tumultuous relationship between Teagan and Bobby is oft times disheartening and fuelled my anxiety. Teagan and Bobby had to be one of the most frustrating couples with a roller coaster of emotions, give and take, want and need. Misunderstanding, miscommunication, issues of trust, and uncertainty continued to fuel a relationship that was already struggling with distance and time. The premise is engaging; the romance is full of ups and downs; the characters are energetic but their attitude and behaviour left me discouraged.

I will add that I appear to be in the minority with my take on our story line couple. In no way does the character’s actions reflect poorly upon the author’s ability to write but affects on my overall enjoyment of the story line romance.

I adore the Shaughnessy Brothers and the entire series!! I've bought almost every book in the series. I love that my favorite characters are back--Quinn was always my favorite along with his story. I have been waiting for Bobby to have his own story--he finally does! I was not disappointed with him. I did have a few points of confusion about Teagan's relationship with Ian. For three chapters Ian and Jack, Teagan's father are cousins but the remainder of the book Ian is her uncle. I hope this is fixed before it goes live. It is confusing. I wouldn't believe the relationship closeness if Ian and Jack are cousins versus if they are brothers. Having Jack as a military man explain why we as readers haven't heard about him or his family. At first, I didn't think it was quite believable how protective Quinn is of Teagan. Quinn was almost acting like Bobby did when Quinn and Anna were dating. In a way, Quinn's actions are more about Quinn getting back at Bobby for attempting to keep Anna away from Quinn than protecting Teagan from Bobby even though Quinn states that he's doing it to protect Teagan.

I'm glad that Bobby returned from Myrtle Beach--closer to his family. He is the perfect uncle and family man I imagined him to be. The build up between him and Teagan was almost an instant attraction where she tried to deny her feelings, attraction, and longing for Bobby. It's sweet how Bobby took care of Lucas and bonded with Lucas, and fell in love with that little boy just as much as his mother.

Teagan has never dated since her fiance was killed. She focused all her efforts on raising her son--a son that would never know his father. She's had the help of her parents the entire time. Now, her parents want to move to North Carolina to be closer to her father's family now that her father has retired from the military. She hasn't spent much time with her extended family over the years, but whenever they did venture back--she loved it! Loved the loud, boisterous extended family with all their hyjink and tons of love. But Teagan has to look out for Lucas and make sure he has stability in his life. She keeps Bobby at a distance since his job is more dangerous than Lucas' father, Logan's job. Bobby is at risk of being shot and killed every day and every moment he's at work. Logan was only at risk during deployments. What scares her is how deep her feelings are for Bobby--if something happened to him, she wouldn't be able to recover like she did with Logan.

Loved this offshoot from the Shaughnessy Brothers Series. Bobby is Anna's brother, friend/foe to Quinn Shaughnessy, his brother-in-law.

Bobby finds himself back home after an accident at work leaves helpless and in need of his family. He isn't in the best of moods finding himself back in the mix with his sister and her husband's perfect family. But while home he meets someone who completely changes his world. Now he must make a decision on whether to start living his life to the fullest or go back to what he thinks is safe.

I loved this sweet novella bringing all our favorite characters from the series back to us and giving us 3 more to fall in love with.

Fans of the series will love this add-on and if you are new, no need to read the other books in the series as this can be read as a standalone.

Tangled Up in You is the final book in The Shaughnessy Brothers series by Samantha Chase. The hero is Anna's brother from Always my girl (book 3) and Teagan is Quinn's cousin. Two things bothered me and led me to give 3.5 stars to the book. The minor problem I had was the epilogue. Since this is the final book, I was expecting to have a big epilogue with most if not all of the couples from the series. Instead, we got one with Bobby and Teagan only. That did not affect my rating in a negative way, but if I had gotten what I wanted I would have raised my rating.

The major problem for me and the one that had an impact on my rating was Bobby's past. Half of the book is focused on his dating life before he met Teagan and it's not the first half. He kept saying that he was not the person his family thought he was and basically that they were wrongfully accusing him of sleeping around, but the one time he and Teagan went out, she met three of the women he had slept with. 3. Not one, not two, but three women and one of them had been his ex-partner on the force. I don't understand why we had to hear again and again about his dating life and see the women. Two of them propositioned him with Teagan present. His family was not wrong when they were saying that the was sleeping around. And the worst thing is that Bobby in this book seemed like a grumpy, ungrateful manwhore who couldn't do the right thing. He was not boyfriend material.

Instead of mentioning the exes, we could have seen him do family activities with Teagan and her son. Lucas was only present when he was needed as a plot device to help Teagan and Bobby be in the same room. In the second half of the book, we mostly heard about him doing a sleepover at Anna or his grandmother's house. I was expecting something better from Samantha Chase since I am a big fan of hers. This is the reason why I am rounding down my rating instead of up.

Loved it!

Between Quinn, Owen and now Bobby, these are my favorite guys in this series. I listed them in order of my favorite but just know, they are all super close. This story was wonderful. I found myself not wanting to put the book down. Another hit by Samantha Chase.

So, somehow I've never read anything by Samantha Chase. I'm happy to say that isn't true anymore!
This was such a crazy sweet story! Somehow I'm going to have to find time to read the rest of the Shaughnessy Brothers books! I'm totally nuts for this family and want to know their stories!
Bobby and Teagan were such genuine characters with so much hurt between them that my heart was fully invested in their path to finding their happy ending.
Sweet with just a little heat this was a fun weekend read!I hope that you enjoy it as much as I did

Sweet, sweet book. Bobby was a cop on leave due to a shooting, leaving him with a bum shoulder. He was mad at the world when he meets this wonderful lady and her son. They had a rocky start, and middle to their relationship, but slowly it came together. This story was about dutyto your country, town, family and love. I hated putting the book down for any reason.

So sad this is the end to the Shaughnessy books. But if it has to be the end what a way to go out. I’m so glad Bobby finally got his happily ever after. I will admit it took me a bit to warm up to Teagan. I liked her in the beginning and the end, it in the middle I had a hard time with her. Overall though this book was a good read and as a single mother it gives me hope.

Teagan and Bobby's path is not an easy one. With lots of turmoil and angst, each have their own nightmares that need to be put to rest so they can move forward. With the love and help of friends and family, it's a beautiful story of overcoming obstacles that seem insurmountable, and finding love again. Their story is filled with so many emotions, it is a real page turner for the romantic at heart. A standalone read and the last in a great series, Teagan, Lucas and Bobby's story has many great moments in their path to a HEA. *I would like to thank NetGalley and Sourcebooks for gifting me "Tangled Up In You".* My opinion is my own. This is mine. 5 Stars for a great ending to a great series!

Mary Jo – ☆☆☆☆
I enjoyed this book. Taking two people who have had two completely different, major life events happen to them and having them really get to know each other and find their way to love.

Teagan is a single mom who has moved across the country with her parents to be closer to her extended family. She wants her son, Lucas, to be around family since it doesn't look like she will marry again.

Bobby is coming off an injury that could end his career as a police officer. Unable to really take care of himself, he goes to his parents’ house to recuperate. Unsatisfied with the progress of his rehabilitation, he wallows in what ifs.

Meeting Teagan is the best thing that has happened to Bobby in his life, but she's not sure she can handle being the wife of police officer. Bobby knows that Teagan must make this decision on her own, and he's willing to do what it takes to make it work.

I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This book is an installment from The Shaughnessy Brothers series, and can be a standalone story. Having said that, the author did incorporate many of the characters in the previous series, but you did not feel lost in the storyline.

Bobby and Teagan meet at a family barbeque and sense an attraction, however, Bobby is resistant to act on it because he is recovering from an injury from his job, and Teagan, a widow, just moved to the area with her son. Because of their connection to the Shaughnessy family, they seem to run into each other a lot and realize that they want to act on their feelings for each other. What starts as something fun, soon turns into serious feelings prompting each to confront the walls they have had up for years.

The story has a sweet ending and I love the interaction Bobby has with Teagan's son. This is a fun read when you want to escape with a "happily ever after" story.
