If you’ve ever read a Jill Mansell book, then Maybe This Time will feel like coming home. There's a whole cast of characters to meet and fall for, and her wonderful, flowing writing. Mimi visits her dad at his new place in Goosebrook, and falls in love with the place and the people. Every time she returns, she falls a little harder, especially for Cal. He's handsome and welcoming whenever they cross paths, but they can't seem to get their romantic timing right.

Mansell has a knack for weaving together the lives of a group of characters and unraveling a story in a witty and patient fashion, and this book is no exception. I spent the whole book wondering if Cal and Mimi would get together, and I’d be lying if I didn’t say I wanted more of them in the book. That’s not to say this wasn’t a lovely story. I loved all of the villagers save for the one who was manipulative. I won’t say more about that to avoid giving spoilers. Overall, it was a lovely read. I just wanted more Cal and Mimi.

This is a very sweet but dramatic love story. Mimi, a city gal, is visiting with her Dad, who lives in the countryside and ends up falling in love with the town (and maybe a man as well 😉). Mimi meets many of the residents and we learn about their stories and backgrounds. You meet a sweet girl who has been through more than an 11 year old should.
I enjoyed the story and fell in love with the town as well! It was a little long and drawn-out in my opinion, which is the only thing dropping it to a 4/5!

Mimi has a dramatic start to her visit to Goosebrooke when she meets the obnoxious Henrietta and then the funny incident with Cal and the sheep, but she soon starts to enjoy the village life and tries to help her father and his new partner Marcus to join in in the community or at least give the pub a try! She is soon making good friends in the village, but there is always the pull of Cal...... will there ever be a right time for both of them!

Another lovely story by Jill Mansell, I always jump at the chance to read one of her books and this one doesn't disappoint, as always warmhearted with a great cast of likeable characters and lots of zany incidents. Great light summer read.

I spent a large majority of the book wondering if Mimi was ever going to get together with the man she blatantly has a massive crush on. After all her timings with him whenever they meet are always off.

Oh, Jill Mansell has done it again! This might be my favourite Mansell novel. There was just the right about of twists and turns. The characters were likeable for the most part, or at least had a redeeming quality or two.

Mimi, Cal, Cora, Martin, Lois, Paddy etc... existed in a small town. The tragedy and ability for the characters to overcome these obstacles made for a great read.

I LOVED. This, and I totally didn’t expect to love it as much as I did. I thought it would be really predictable boy meets girl and they keep trying to get together - but for some reason can’t. I was wrong! Some seriously heartbreaking parts in this book along with the contrasts of the feel good moments, it’s just wonderful. Brilliant bath time reading!

I've read a couple of Jill's books in the past which is why I didn't hesitate to request this one. I love that it is set in the beautiful Cotswolds which is only an hour away from where I live and such a pretty area with its honey coloured stone. The reason I gave it 4 stars rather than 5 is because it took me a while to get into this story, and to warm to the characters. I did eventually and was so glad there was a happy ending for Mimi and Cal. Not one of my personal favourites but I did enjoy it and do recommend it.

I really enjoyed this book. I haven't read a Jill Mansell book for years but I’ll cerainly be back reading them now.
Mimi was the main character, circumstances making her leave London for Goosebrook in the Cotswolds, where her dad and his partner Marcus live .
The story followed the lives of the villagers , Cal and his family, Paddy, Lois , Felix and not forgetting Henrietta .All the main characters were strong and I loved how each of their stories carried on through the book. You felt you were part of the village reading this book
The story followed Mimi and Cal, Two friends . They were clearly meant for each other but the timing was never right.
This is an uplifting story with very likeable characters, it follows the characters over a few years and covers how their lives unfold.
This was a very enjoyable book and I will certainly look out for the next one.

I’ve wanted to read a Jill Mansell book for an awful long time ... it was worth the wait. You know how it is ... you’re looking for that ‘inbetween’ read, just to lighten things up but not be too syrupy. This most definitely fulfilled that wish. I enjoyed this story that is mostly set in a Cotswold village and takes place over a number of years, allowing characters to develop and grow.

Mansell’s books follow that set formula - boy meets girl, they form a connection, there will be some dilemma or obstacle before you get your happy ending. Sometimes you just need to take that comforting journey, resting solid that you know where you will ultimately end up. This, however, was a step up from your usual ‘chick lit’ as I found it had a lot more substance. There is love and laughter but shade is also provided through grief and sadness. Jill provides the perfect balance.

I appreciated the depth and breadth of characters provided in this tale and feel sure there will be either person or traits that the reader is sure to identify with. Jill takes everyday occurrences and in equal measure, either sheds light laughter or logic to make it an engaging read. I enjoyed the real community feel this village had in providing a solid base of the range of scenarios that were to play out.

To have a range of people and situations did take away slightly from the main characters and their developing relationship with the ultimate happy ending. It does evolve rather slowly and at times somewhat frustratingly. All up, I enjoyed my first Jill Mansell read, the comforting tale that soothes our weary souls and confirms that love wins out in the end.

‘This was the thing about people: you could be friends with them while at the same time being aware of their various faults.’

Jill Mansell is one of my go-to authors when I want to read something light and funny. Her novels have always been fun to read and this new offering is such an enjoyable one, as well. Though not everything in the book is light and funny, as there's some sad things that happened, it was still a feel-good read overall. I love the characters and feel so invested in their stories. Definitely entertaining.

I used to be an avid Jill Mansell reader but this is my first new Mansell read in awhile, as I have missed the last few books before this one. I am both pleased and disappointed to report that all the hallmarks of a Mansell read are represented here in full force. Disappointed because there are the same character tropes and archetypes as there were in many of the ones I read before my hiatus, and it makes me feel as though I’m reading the same book and the same story over and over. But pleased because there is also the likeable main and supporting characters, as well as the humour that is ever-present, and that is a comfort to me, and why I will always want to come back to reading Mansell again and again. Mimi is, I think, one if my favourite Mansell main characters. And I’m glad she got her HEA. Oh, and, it was lovely to see “the dashing Mr. Darcy,” such a fun Easter Egg.

This was a lovely story! I’ve only read a couple of books by Jill Mansell and each one I read just makes me like her more and more. I must admit I did wish for another chapter or two as I wasn’t quite ready for it to end when it did, but it was fab all the same. Definitely recommend this one.

I love Jill's stories. They are always about a whole community and their connection, interferance, but most of all they take care of each other.
I loved that we were following stories of a different couples, who eventually got together.
Story is funny and witty but at times also really intense.
Mimi is a brave girl, who in times of need takes a dramatic change in her life, which turns out to be the best decision of her life.
Cal is a nice guy who takes care of his daughter and doesn't have time to throw an eye on other women. That is until he sees again the woman who indeed caught his eye.
I received an earc from the author and am voluntarily leavinf an honest review.

Maybe This Time by Jill Mansell is a sweet contemporary romance/chit lit that I really enjoyed. Mimi has been visiting Goosebrook in Cotswolds where her dad lives over the years. She has falling in love with the town and the people who live there. Mimi visits back and forth as she concentrates on her career. Mimi is attracted to Cal, but it never seems the right time for them. Will they ever get together? An easy to read and fast paced book that kept me enthralled from beginning to end. Maybe This Time was the first book I’d read by this author but it definitely won’t be the last!

I reviewed a digital arc provided by NetGalley and the publisher. Thank you.

I am a big Jill Mansell fan and always look forward to her book releases. This book did not disappoint. There are a lot fewer characters in this book than her other ones, and the concept is much simpler than her other books which I really liked. It's very straightforward and the characters are very endearing. If you are a fan of contemporary and/or women's fiction, I highly recommend this book.

This is my first time reading a book by Jill Mansell, and unfortunately I did not enjoy it. Maybe This Time began with a cute story of girl meeting boy, but soon we find out that boy is married. We know they will be together in the end, but how can we want that when his marriage is perfect? No worries! The author will just kill off the perfect wife! It's hard to enjoy a romantic comedy of a book when one of the characters has to be killed in order to have a happy ending.

Then, add to that, the cover art on Good Reads shows a car driving down a winding road. Really?! All of the characters in the book lose loved ones in a CAR ACCIDENT! So you think a cute cover should highlight that part of the book?

Then it is the typical comedy of errors that keeps the couple getting together. I don't mind that so much. It's formulaic, but still makes for a fun summer read. Only this couple has so many wacky miscommunications that I sincerely just wanted them to hate each other so the book could be over.

The part I did enjoy was any scene with her boss, CJ. That was a fun character, and his banter with Lois when she visits is amazing!

Thank you to Net Galley for the ARC of this book for an honest review.
