A cute, fun, light read. I enjoyed it a lot. Jill Mansell is a reliable writer. The Cotswolds - always a lovely place to visit.

Brilliant plot, excellent main characters that you invest in. I read this book in one sitting and I would highly recommend it.

Mimi arrives in Goosebrook and tragedy happens. She finds that she can't be with the man she finds attractive because he is married, so she moves on and finds love isn't easy when she gets cheated on and then she gets a job abroad and acts as cupid for her boss. I liked this romantic tale and the other characters: Lois, Felix, Cora, C.J but I'd have liked to have got to know Paddy better! My only criticism was that I didn't understand why Mimi felt attracted to Cal. I didn't feel the chemistry on the page and think the energy actually lay with Paddy or even C.J! Cal was a bit too bland. A page turner and really feel good. Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for letting me review this book. I would recommend.

This was an enjoyable reading for me! It had romance, drama and many funny moments. I liked the side characters and their stories, they were a great addition to the book, but at the same time I wished there was more focus on the progression of the main romance plot, in my opinion it developed too slowly, I couldn't really feel the chemistry between the main characters and resolution is only reached too close to the end. In general, it was entertaining, I would recommend it, but I didn't feel the spark necessary for this to be a page-turner for me.

I couldn’t get through this novel because the heroine enthralled with the widower just made her seem silly and very different from the strong woman she is with cj

Thank you to Netgalley, Jill Mansell and Sourcebooks for my ARC of Maybe This Time. I received a copy of this ebook free in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
Synopsis: when Mimi first visits her father and his boyfriend in their beautiful new home in a quiet Cotswolds village she falls in love with both the village and its inhabitants, especially gorgeous Cal. But with a job in PR a quiet country village isn't exactly the right place to be. As time goes by Mimi visits regularly and her and Cal's lives continue to intersect but it seems it's just never the right time.
This was the perfect novel for me right now, I was really in need of something cheerful, bright and uplifting and Maybe This Time really hit the nail on the head. The characters were fantastic, easy to read about and engage with, I loved Mimi there was just something so refreshing and honest about her. The secondary characters were also great and I felt like everything I read about could really happen, there were zero tropes and it's refreshing to see that these days. The plot was fantastic, yes there was an element of tragedy but the beautiful writing, setting, plot and wonderful characters made this book uplifting and delightful in spite of it.
I wouldn't expect anything but the best from Jill Mansell who has been a firm favourite of mine for many years and will no doubt continue to be for years to come.

Every time I read a book by Jill Mansell, it makes me feel like I personally know all the characters. This was a lovely story tinged with a bit of sadness. I managed to read it in a day as I needed to know if everyone would have a happy ending. If you like an easy read that will keep your interest, you must read “Maybe This Time”

Started off sad but an amazing book of second chances. I love Jill Mansell if your a fan this certainly won’t disappoint.

I thought this book was cute! I loved seeing Mimi go through the highs and the lows made it more realistic. The opening where she’s trying to save the sheep was very cute. I only wish she had realized where she was supposed to be sooner. A sequel with more on Cal and Cora and her father in law would be great. I would have loved to read more about Mimi and Cal afterwards. Overall a cute read!

A story about love, loss, and finding what you didn't know you were missing. I love Jill Mansell, she is a great storyteller, and even though this starts off sad I find it being one of my favorite stories. She weaves small stories into one large main one.

I liked everything about this book, the setting, the characters and the fast pace. Very nicely developed characters and storyline. It was funny, but also poignant. A very entertaining read. Thanks to the author, publisher, and Net Galley for the opportunity to read an advance copy.

I have read pretty much every Jill Mansell book over the years, and this one is just as enjoyable as all of the others. This book was a little bit sadder than her usual books - the death of two village members (don’t want to ruin it by saying who!) was unexpected, but the story of Mimi and Cal’s friendship, together with the interwoven stories of Mimi’s boss, CJ, and her friend Lois, are really lovely and charming. A thoroughly enjoyable read, and highly recommend this,, as well as all other books by the same author.

Charming doesn’t begin to describe this book. The characters are lovely and the town is delightful. It was predictable, in a comforting way. I think the story moved fast, but the book was too long. I’m certainly glad I read it.

I received an early preview copy of this book from Netgalley in return for an honest review.
Mimi visits her Father in his new home in a Cotswold Village, when she encounters Cal for the first time. She is instantly attracted to him, and there is a rapport between them, but she soon finds out that he is happily married, and destined to only be friends.
It was obvious early on in the book that the characters were destined to be together, but it was sad, how Cal became single. The storyline jumps from months to a couple of years, when Cal and Mimi meet again. There is always some obstacle that keeps them apart, usually in Cal's life, which at times is very frustrating to read.
The book is easy to read, and has a mixture of tragedy, humour and romance. It has a great variety of characters, good and bad. I have read all of Jill's previous books and enjoyed them immensely. They are well written and delightful. This book was pleasing to read, but I felt that the ending was a little rushed after the long and drawn out will they or won't they storyline. I would still recommend this book as it is an enjoyable book.

I love Jill Mansell’s newest book! Even though the beginning was sad, it is still a wonderful, romantic book of second chances. Mimi finds her way in life, job, family/ friends, and finally love! Another great read and I can't wait for the next one from this author.
(Will publish on Amazon/ Goodreads once book is released.)

I always enjoy Jill Mansell's books but I think this is my favourite. I loved it from the first page to,the last and was sorry when I reached the end.
Mimi is the central character who works in London and travels down to the Cotswolds to,visit her father and his partner Marcus. The pair haven't lived in the village long and have tended to hide away thinking people would not accept their gay relationship. Mimi decides to get them more involved in village life but will she regret that decision
The first person she meets on her long walk to the village is Cal who she is immediately attracted to. Cal has a wife and child who Mimi immediately likes and they become friends. There is a terrible accident that changes the village and its people including Mimi.
Mimi heads back to the village four years later when her relationship with her boss breaks down. She gets a job working for an author but has to leave the village and live in Majorca where he is writing his book. Although he is a difficult man to work for Mimi helps him change his life - another lovely story running alongside Mimi's. Her friend Lois, who is married to Felix, has encountered a life changing experience and the way her story is interlinked is really beautiful.
Jill Mansell has a gift not just for story telling but also for introducing us to likeable but true to life characters
A book I am happy to recommend

Mimi is in for an adventure on the way to meet her Father, who has just moved! Mimi is so full of life and the characters are all so light hearted and fun, which is to be expected in most of Jill Mansell’s books. An enjoyable story!

Jill Mansell excels in writing the ultimate feel good book. You will be left with a big smile on your face after reading this one. She has an amazing ability to create hugely likeable but also relatable characters. The plot of this one is heartwarming and engaging. I’ve read all of her books but this is definitely one of my favourites.

This is Jill Mansell at her best. She begins this beautiful story with brilliant descriptive writing and you could be easily fooled into thinking it's another predictable love story scenario but there are many twists and turns along the way both happy and sad. I will be recommending this book to all my friends who love this author. Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to read this

Such a lovely book, i love Jill Mansell's books and this one didn't disappoint.
Coming in from London Mimi visits her father Dan & his partner Marcus in the lovely Goosebrook village in the Cotswolds, she discovers they haven't yet been to the local pub or socialized with the other villagers. and feels they are afraid there will be side whispers because they are gay, Bullying them into visiting the pub one evening with her, they have a wonderful time, are accepted warmly by the villagers and encouraged to get involved in all the activities the villagers put on.
Mimi has also run into Cal whom she is very attracted to, but soon discovers he has a wonderful warm caring wife Stacey and a little girl Cora.
Mimi returns to London as she has a good job as a PR which she loves. But she is faced with a sadness that makes her go running back to Gooosebrook, to lick her wounds and bury herself away to heal.
The story unfolds in a pleasant way with believable likable characters but has a tragedy that made me gasp and sad it also had situations that made me smile.
It had a warmth about it that made me feel like i was curled up in an armchair in front of a roaring fire.
I loved every page as it was a boy meets girl, the frustrations and tribulations of will they won't they and the barriers that kept cropping up to stall them.
If you want a lovely story that makes you feel like you've been cuddled this one is for you.
Congratulations Jill another triumph
Thank you, NetGalley for the opportunity x
