Second in a series based in the small town of Angel Falls, The Way You Love Me,has plenty of charm. A single father hero, Cade, resettling into his hometown and a new job, finds himself unwilling attracted to one of his creative writing students. Gabby just hit thirty and made partner at her law firm but discovering a box of writings from a mother she lost at a young age, has her searching for ways to connect not only to her mother but herself.

Who was this man, who seemed kind of uptight and strict in the classroom but seemed so wonderfully vulnerable and human— not to mention sexy—after hours?

In a style, tone, and pace that felt like women's fiction, this also provided a good focus on the relationship trying to develop between Cade and Gabby. Cade's background of having a smaller family with dead beat father and absent ex-wife leaving him to care for his young daughter, provided great foundation for his not wanting to ask for help and self-contained personality. Gabby also was a flushed out character with a larger, strong, and self-sufficient family that left her feeling even more insecure about her desires to bounce from careers and hobbies, explaining her personality traits of not feeling good enough. The main characters were clearly well thought out and were the stronger for it.

This is second in a series and I'm wondering if characters from a connecting series make appearances as there were couples and plenty of friends that could be waiting in the wings for their own stories; I felt lost a few times with all the names. There is also a slight secondary romance brewing with Gabby's brother Rafe and her friend Katilyn that will capture you attention (it looks like their book is next in the series). The geographical setting of Angel Falls isn't really gotten into but the author has you feel the small town through the characters' relationships, which she did a good job of. The overall network of characters and how they feel about each other, emotions and connections, is a highlight and what I think people come for when they select small town romances, you'll get that here.

While friends and family connections were felt, I didn't fully grasp Gabby and Cade's connection. The author handled Cade being Gabby's teacher in a wonderfully mature way and while I think their beginning dance of touch and go took me in, the middle or meaty part of their relationship was missing for me. They kind of hop to instant attraction, sexual tension, then strong enough feelings to be together forever, a very rushed emotional aspect ending. I felt I didn't get to experience them interacting or bonding enough to believe in or enjoy them as a couple.

I'm not a huge fan of children in novels but Cade's daughter made enough appearances to bring the feels (Cade watching Youtube videos to figure out how to French braid her hair) but was absent enough to not interfere with the romance aspects. Cade's ex-wife, father, to some extent, and a few other secondary characters made quick little for drama's sake splashes but didn't quite have the time or depth for heavy emotional hits. I also thought Gabby's job seemed conspicuously absent, as she just made partner. However, if you read the first in the series or recognized characters from other books by the author, you'd probably enjoy the glimpses and human connections placed here instead of Gabby dealing with her job.

As I mentioned, this had plenty of charm, if not a lot of spark. The almost women's fiction feel, but with stronger focus on Gabby and Cade's romance relationship building, will provide a great slow down and lose yourself into a fictional small town world for a while. There were plenty of secondary characters to hope for future books and I myself need to find out what happens between Gabby's brother Rafe and her friend Kaitlyn in the next installment.

This was a new to me author and I'm glad I took a chance!

I could relate to Gabby in so many ways. She is a woman who will do anything to make others happy even if it doesn't make her. She is someone who is searching for her "passion" but in the meantime doing what is expected of her. I admire all the classes she has taken to try and find that one thing that makes her tick. I'm glad she finally did and she isn't letting any negative comments stop her from trying to succeed.

My heart broke for Caden. He has been put through the ringer and because of this it has made him start to doubt himself and his abilities. Because of this, he has decided that instead of following his passion, he will do the more sensible and stable option. He has his daughter to think about and while I think this is an admirable trait, writers need their outlet and to stop I believe it hurts their soul.

I loved reading about theses two both trying to do the right thing with outside influences trying to sway their decision.

Meant to be by Alison Bliss

I have been a fan of Alison Bliss's for awhile. I have been waiting to get Brett's story.

This book did an amazing job and showcasing just how far Brett has come from a previous book. He had some serious anger issues that he needed to take care of. It almost resulted in his sister disowning him but it did make him lose the love of his life.

This story picks up a year later when the two of them meet again. Sidney expects that Brett will be the same man she left and wants nothing to do with him. Brett desperately wants to show Sidney that he has changed and with therapy he is still working on it.

What I loved most about this story was you could tell the love was still there between these two. It was a true case of the heart wants one thing but the head is telling them another. Reading about them reconnecting and falling back in love was wonderful to read.

This is a quick read and a heart warming story. I felt that even though Gabby said she wanted to take charge of her own life, she was still way too concerned about pleasing people and what they would think of her life choices. Cade ran hot and cold, but maybe that was the way for the author to create tension between Gabby and Cade. All in all a good read, but I did feel that the story was missing something to make it stand out and unique.

Gabby is a people pleaser who finds herself struggling to find her own happiness. She decides to take a writing course to see if it's her real passion. Along her journey to seek happiness she learns about vulnerability, dependability and love.

I really enjoyed this sweet and sexy story about Cade and Gabbys journey to happiness. After a bit of a rocky start I found I fell in love with both Gabby and Cade and couldn't put the book down because I was invested in these characters. This was a true story about second chances.

I cant wait for Kaitlyn and Rafe's story next!

I received a copy of The Way You Love Me from Netgalley and this is my honest opinion

Gabby has just made partner at the law firm, moved, dumped a fiancé and is still feeling like something is missing. In fact, she’s spent almost all of her thirty years on the planet searching for something to bring her joy – and with this new writing class, run by a former NYT author, she’s thinking she just might have found her niche. But, she’s also too worried about her father’s reaction, her step-mother’s constant attempts to ‘fix her up’ and her Nonna’s struggles with dementia. There’s plenty on her plate – and it never quite seemed as if she actually spent any time on any one thing with conviction.

Cade has returned to take a professorship at the local college: after leaving town for university and never looking back. Now with a three year old daughter, an ex-wife, he status of being a former NYT bestseller whose career exploded spectacularly after his wife’s claims of ‘stolen ideas’ and his own inability to put words on paper. He’s not only guarded and angry – he’s frustrated with his mother’s forgiveness of his father, unable to believe that the cruel and offhanded drunken father he knew could hold regrets or be able to do better. Gabby is a breath of fresh air that keeps him intrigued, even as he’s doing everything to ignore that – despite her coming in to rescue him from mega-tantrums from his daughter.

The story here felt unnecessarily complicated with situations that were discussed yet rarely shown, at least not in ways that would engage me emotionally. Sad, as I wanted to like this couple (and Gabby) far more than I did. True areas for growth and development were often hinted at, then dropped and left hanging, only to pop up resolved in later pages – and the charm of the small town setting, the large, loud families and even the connection that developed more than the electric chemistry was missing and just never appeared for me.

I received an eArc copy of the title from the publisher via NetGalley for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review, all conclusions are my own responsibility.

A fun and heartwarming love story. Family issues galore. I want to know more about Nonna's past. Rafe's tale will be interesting, too.

I hadn’t read anything from this author, but the reviews on NG were so high, so I took a chance.

Gabby and Cade were just okay. I liked that she wanted to learn different things and that’s probably the best thing I can say. Their relationship lacked chemistry and passion and there was a lot of telling, not showing. Cade’s daughter was the easily brightest spot in the story.

Plot wise, it was just meh. There wasn’t any real show of time movement, so it seemed like they had been hanging out for a very short while before the ending and proposal. Too many threads of plot made for something more convoluted than it needed to be and in that, nothing felt fleshed out.

Overall, I liked the small town setting and the idea of the angel fountain, but sadly, I was mostly disappointed. I doubt I’ll be reading any others in this series.

**Huge thanks to Forever for providing the arc free of charge**

I love this series. I've been anticipating Gabby and her brother Rafe's book but, back to Gabby. Gabby is going through inner battles about her life. She isn't satisfied with her life at the moment, and always wanted to be a writer. So, she takes a class on writing, and none other than Caden this famous author is the teacher. They have chemistry from the first time they meet in the parking lot of the college. Cade is going through a rough time, trying to get his life together after a terrible divorce from his ex. She really put him through the ringer.

This story was good. I enjoyed it very much. I loved the story of the fountain and how it intertwines all the couples together. Wonderful story, I can't wait for Rafe's story.

The plot was mature & interesting—and the setup for the next book is everything I’m a sucker for, so probably will be reading.

I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley for my honest review.
This is the second book in the Angel Falls series and it centers around Gabby Langdon and Caden Marshall. Gabby is a bit of a lost soul, she flitted from one major to another until she settled on becoming a lawyer to please her father. She was engaged to a successful, but narcissistic guy, because she thought that was the type of man she should marry. Now, she is thirty, single and in a job that doesn’t make her happy. She has always wanted to write, so she decides to take a creative writing course taught by famous author, Caden Marshall. Cade is a bit of a mess. While he had a successful debut novel, he has all sorts of issues contributing to his writer’s block. Both Gabby and Cade are likable, yet flawed characters and the pacing of the love story is realistic. I loved that Gabby and Cade had to work through their issues to get to their happily ever after. This book also has a nice set up for Rafe and Kaitlyn’s story.

3.5 STARS

The Way You Love Me took me on a roller coaster with high highs and low lows. I had a love/hate relationship with this book. One minute I loved it and the next I wanted to quit. It was consistently like this for me. I’m glad I finished it. I loved seeing the hero as a single parent. His daughter was a scene stealer.
I cannot freaking wait for the next book. It is set up so nicely in this book. Some books you read and don’t love, but they set things up for books to come that you can’t discount that.

I voluntarily read an early copy from Forever Romance.

Another great Angel Falls book. 'The Way You Love Me' is a wonderful story about Gabby, an attorney, and Cade, a troubled author/single dad, and their struggles to fight their feelings for each other. Miranda creates a story that draws you in and keeps you turning the pages until you reach the end and discover what happens with the main couple and their happy ending.

Gabriella (Gabby) Langdon has lost her sparkle and is trying to reset her life. Fresh off a breakup, having just made partner at a law firm, and wanting to become an author, her life is full…full of busy days, full of trying to make people proud and keep them happy, and full of trying to get people to stop setting her up. She just wants to start another chapter of her life, so she enrolls in a writing class at the college.

Single dad, author and professor Caden Marshall, is completely focused on his sweet daughter, Ava. He has writer’s block after a disastrous backstabbing by his ex-wife claiming he stole her ideas for his book. He has just taken a position at the college teaching a writing class.

Nona, Gabby’s grandmother, tells a tale of true love that has been with the town for ever. The bridge on the edge of town has “magic”. Will Nona’s tale of true love come true for Gabby and Caden?

The Way You Love Me by Author Miranda Liasson was wonderful! I loved the characters, the storyline, the magic, the mystery, the conflict…sigh…just all of it! It was a sweet, non-angsty, romantic, love story! I loved the parking lot scene and the classroom part after! I would completely recommend this book!

I was in the mood for a heartfelt swoon-worthy delight and this book didn't disappoint. I was about to feel something for characters and root for their love story. I could see myself as one of the characters and living their life. The realism touched my heart and made me want to read more by this author.

This was a fun read and I really enjoyed it. It is book 2 in the series and it stars siblings who find love. This is Gabby's story and it is a standalone story though I did read book 1 as well. Gabby is a successful lawyer who lost her mother many years before and it really affected her.

Her mother was a writer and so she enrolls in a writing class taught by Caden. She is hoping to see if she can write like her mother and to feel closer to her mother. Caden is a divorced single dad and he and Gabby have a lot in common and are very attracted. There is this forbidden thing happening and Gabby really want to write. She sort of goes on an adventure discovering who her mother is/was and it sorta intersects with Caden's life as well.

This was a very sweet and fun romance and I really enjoyed it.

We are back in Angel Falls and once again, this talented author gives us a story that will touch your hearts.
Gabby Langdon is a lawyer who has always done things to make others happy, sometimes at her own expense. She is a lawyer but truly wants to be a writer and signs up for a writing class at the local college.
Cade Marshall is a writer who after writing his one and only book, is suffering from writer’s block. While the book brought him to the heights of success , it quickly brought him down .
He’s back in his hometown with his 3 year old daughter for a new start and hoping for inspiration.
These two meet by chance and from the first moment , the attraction is there. But obstacles are also in their lives.
The plot is engaging and the imperfect characters, complex and endearing. The book is at times heartbreaking but also heartwarming. A reminder that family, with all it’s imperfections, is important to have in our lives.
Hope, new beginnings and love can be within reach if we give them a chance.
Can’t wait to see what else Ms. Liasson has in store for us.
I was entrusted a copy of this book by Netgalley. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
