This was a middle of the road read for me. I wanted to like it more, but it just didn't jump out and grab me.
The story is told in multiple POV's, which I normally enjoy, but there were so many transitions and no way to keep up. When I thought one was talking, it really was the other.
Aside from that, the story is filled with a lot of mystery. The roommate was certifiably nuts! I don't think that situation yielded a good result in a novel of a widow finding love, but that's just me. Finn was an ok guy, which was refreshing until the author threw in a couple of things that seemed out of character for him. I guess we never know what really is vs. what we want people to see.
All in all the romance was sweet once you get away from the distractions.

DNF around 40%
Was really disappointed in the lack of warning for the rape that occurred. I also felt like the characters lacked depth and their feelings and actions were told to us almost strictly through dialogue instead of shown via descriptions.

I had a hard time getting through this one. It just wasn’t written with a natural flow and the twist was a little too ridiculous. It was like we sacrificed great story for a few “steamy” scenes that really weren’t all that steamy or realistic. Not my favorite.

I'm not much for the erotica. Really I'm not, but this cover and the synopsis called my attention!
And it really pulled off. Finn? WOW did not expect all that from when we first met him, and I really did love him! And our heroine? Miss Lily (great name by the way, I love Lily) was such a nice character! And I really DID NOT expect that start of the book! Not even 1% of the book and I was already shocked to my core. Little Bell's was the salvation to my heart!
For those who like a little hot romance, totally go for it! It's a smooth fast read!

This is a great start to a promising series. The style is a little different from a lot of books in this genre, but I liked it! The characters are entertaining, and the plot is interesting. And hot?! Holy smokes!
I also laughed myself silly in some parts, but it's not all funny.
I look forward to reading more from this author.

This would make for an excellent first series erotica if it weren't for a few structural issues with the writing style. This was written in a multi point of view which is great but the author shifted from one to another with no warning leaving me a bit confused as to who was speaking. The intrusion of the crazy roommate also seemed out of place in a novel about a women exploring her sensual side after grieving the death of her husband.
Finn is a fine hero, perfect for the heroine but when we initially meet him we don't get the sense that he was so adventurous in bed. He seemed like your normal average Joe loving the company of a good woman. The author does not prepare us for his sexual prowess and penis piercing! Seemed completely out of character.
Anyway, this is would be a fantastic sexy read if we had reliable characters and smoother point of view transitions.
