Thank you Netgalley for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This was an interesting read. The author does an incredible job creating an imaginary world where Sentinals and Ancients fight for the preservation of their race. Harper is a strong willed young woman who finally finds out why she's always felt like an outcast and has to confront the bravery of living in a whole new world where the unimaginable is possible. Although I did enjoy the novel I did feel it dragged a bit, it took a long time for the reader to see the characters engage and relate the action. The author spends too much time building us up to what's to come and telling us the history of the two worlds.
It is beginning of what has the potential to be a great series.

I got an ARC copy from Netgalley. Unfortunately I had to DNF this around 15%. I couldn't connect with the characters and the dialogue was iffy.

I really wanted to like this book due to the amazing synopsis, but sadly, it was just to science fictiony for me with the odd names and what not. A fan of true science fiction will probably devour this book, it just wasn't enjoyable for this reader.

I was really looking forward to reading this book, I liked the sound of it.However although it started out promisingly enough, setting the scene it soon just became too weird for me, I was expecting a dystopian, type book, maybe I didn't read the blurb properly but it just became too weird for me.I like both dystopian and sci fi books but just couldn't connect with this one,and I didn't enjoy it.Thanks to the publishers and netgalley for an ARC,.

Glow is an interstellar novel based in the future when science has finally reached its high point, we follow a young girl who watches the very world she knows turn upside down as a new species comes in and causes an apocalypse that wipes out every region. We learn that the ones who survive are hybrids have human half ancient. I loved how we were able to picture each creature and the surrounding areas as we follow Harper and her friends to this new world and back to earth. The only disappointment I had was the ending seeing as the entire book was filled with action and adventure I felt the ending lacked that but this is a series so I hope the second book is as good as this one !

A fast and unusual ya scifi. While not amazing, I liked Harper and found the story interesting enough to keep me going. End was eh but I was prepared for that since it said book 1.

I really did not see his story coming it was so different from the first few pages of the book to the middle but it was an awesome twist. I liked this book but I feel like sometimes the author got lost in their own story. there were a few things that didn't make sense or became confusing throughout. Spoilers Next: one of the main things that didn't make sense was the creation of the backstory for the hybrids. It included this big thing on how they couldn't breed but then during a meeting they showed this man from a North Korean concentration camps life story and it included his pregnant wife (now this could just mean that his wife was cheating on him but I feel like they would have also included that in trying to show how terrible humans are ) another thing that came up was the weakening of the hybrids abilities however one of the hybrid was able to always use their abilities regardless while the others lost theirs( not including the whole gewd thing). There were also scenes that just kind of happened haphazardly and maybe need to be tweaked a little such as the scientist in the science department helping the main character. The book tellsme the book several times that helped but it's not actually clear. I feel like maybe this book just needs to be edited a little but more but I'm also excited to read the next one.

Thanks to NetGalley for a free copy.

The concept was intriguing but I couldn't really connect with the characters. I can see people really enjoying this book.

I love YA science fiction books that take you on a journey. I was taken on a voyage into a world where alien hybrids have more power than they realize. I knew that I would like the story by the first sentence. I can't wait to read more and delve into the world building that Hadley has created with this gem. It was a pleasure to get a free copy of this via NetGalley.

This wasn't for me. I found the concept intriguing, but the execution was lacking to say the least. I didn't really care about the characters, so the novel dragged for me. The writing itself sounded juvenile; I am aware the novel is YA, but that doesn't mean the writing has to be dumbed down. I felt like I was reading a bad middle grade novel. To be honest, some middle grade novels are written better than this. Less juvenile, less dramatic. The characters just TOLD us everything, almost nothing was shown. A whole page had every other sentence starting with "I" - branch out!

Thanks to Ruby & Topaz Publishing for providing me with a copy.

I really wanted to enjoy this story, I truly tried but after finishing it I just am left wondering. The story has plenty of technical term and biological references and a plot that is just flat. I have to admit there were parts of the story that brought the story to life and then it would quickly sizzle away. It is a slow read but that's not all, it's just poorly reminiscent of a bad sci fi movie that just ends but doesn't resolve anything. Aliens, Ancients, Hybrids, Humans it really could have been so much more and maybe with a little bit of tweaking it still can be. To be honest it just wasn't my style and I will not be continuing with the series.

I loved reading about the differences in the aliens and hybrids. The technology was cool and some of the characters were interesting. However, I didn't love it and I can't pinpoint the reasons of my dislike. It just didn't sit right with me. I wasn't captivated and I wasn't invested in the characters very much. Something was lacking and I struggled to finish the story.

I received a free ARC of this book from Netgalley via the publisher in exchange for my honest opinion. I wish I could have loved it.

Glow is actually kind of awesome! The beginning is kind of slow, but I think that's mostly because I didn't know what was really going on at first. There's a slow burn up to when the action starts and then it just kind of hits you in the face with what it's about and what's going on. Aliens and hybrid aliens. Wouldn't be my normal pick for a book, but it's good. Sometimes you get surprised by a book. I really enjoyed this book. I really don't want to give away too much of this story, because it's not out yet, but I was so into the book that when I hit the final page I was really surprised. It's so good! The characters, the build up, the whole world building of the story is brilliant and fresh. I really can't wait for a 2nd book. I hope there WILL be a 2nd book!! 5 stars and 2 thumbs up!!

I loved the idea of this book: Girl has never felt like she fit in, her mom is super strict (makes her stay inside all the time), then it turns out she's a hybrid human/alien.

The book starts off slow. The plot is pretty interesting. The hybrid's are "captured", their memories pretty much wiped, and then they learn about their alien DNA culture. However, it's not completely clear in the beginning, to be honest I was like what did I miss? And had to keep going back in the book to re-read. It was frustrating at first. With that being said, I really enjoyed the book and the cast of characters. They all had distinctly unique voices and I found myself entertained.

I also know that this is an ARC, the published copy will be more polished, I hope. I really think this novel can do well, if it's just cleaned up slightly. It's a great story, and fun!

Solid 3.5/5 stars. I would read the rest of the series for sure.

I tried really hard to enjoy this one, but it's just not good, in my opinion. I made it to forty percent before I got very uncomfortable. The aliens are clearly manipulating the hybrids - I mean, really obviously, they're not even trying to hide it - and I sincerely doubt their plans are as benign as they claimed, but I couldn't bring myself to keep reading to find out. I'm sorry, it's a DNF from me.

This is the most amazingly bad thing I have read in a long time. In the author's attempt to write YA, they create inexplicably bizarre characters whose actions make no sense, a plot line that borrows from the worst of 1950s low-budget, low-creativity sci-fi, and dialogue that is pedantic and expository to a ridiculous degree: dialogue that tells...and tells...and tells, instead of writing anything that shows. If this had been satire, it might have been funny. But since it's not, it's just bad.
