Rookie in Love is the first book in the Love Offside series by Sarah White. It was my first story by this author and I liked it.

Madeline met Jackson on her birthday and he gave her the reassurance that life could be so much better. Her dreams mattered and she didn’t have to simply follow her family’s wishes. Fina.ly embracing life she will find the happiness that alluded her for far too long.

Such a cute book! A fun and quick read, I enjoyed the story of Madeline, a good but quiet girl, and Jackson, the hot quarterback. Madeline facing her last year of college wants nothing more than to find herself before embarking on the life planned for her by her father and brothers. Jackson, the stud athlete, doesn't plan on banking just on his talent on the field. This story goes through the ups and downs of their relationship and individual issues and how all that ties into whether they can make this last. I thought the writing was good and the characters likable. I did want to yell at Madeline a couple of times but that's normal in these types of books where you just want the characters to see both sides of the story. Jackson was such a great character I would read more just for him. All in all a good read especially if you're into sports romances.

There is something about a sports romance that I just can't get over. Rookie in Love by Sarah White was no different. This was my first book by Sarah and I wasn't disappointed.

The chemistry between the main characters, Jackson and Madeline was off the hots. I loved seeing how they complimented each other and checked all the right boxes... when they were willing to let them.

I really enjoyed reading Rookie in love. Its the struggle of Madeline and Jackson trying to find true love. While one is bound by family obligations, the other wants to be accepted as a person without any frills.

A nice read, with a few life lessons.

Rookie in Love by Sarah White is book number one in the Love Offsides series. This is Maddy and Jackson’s story.

Maddy’s family has picked out who she is supposed to marry. Will Maddy do what her family wants or will Maddy choose love?

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

He’s beneath her…and that’s what she wants. Hotel heiress Madeline Stone has always played it safe and been the good girl. Since the death of her mother, she’s let her father and older brothers dictate her life, but this is her last year of college and perhaps her last year of freedom. So when she meets sexy star quarterback Jackson Rider, she’s tempted to take a risk. His sexy combination of bad boy and sweet makes her feel alive and reckless with passion she never imagined. His encouragement and love helps her develop the voice she never had. She knows Jackson checks none of the boxes on her family’s life plan. But she has new goals for herself and new dreams. Can she find the strength to stand up for what she wants?
I’m not sure why, but I had a big problem liking Madeline from the beginning, making it really hard for me to get into this book. DNF

This was my first time reading this authors work and a great start to a new series. This was a sweet story about first love and being yourself. Madeline has always played it safe and done what she is suppose to. She is starting her last year of college and what may be her last year of freedom. She wasn’t expecting Jackson the sexy quarterback. He was perfect for her and now she just has to decide if she can have him and be herself. I really enjoyed Jackson and Madeline’s story and can’t wait to read more from this author.

ROOKIE IN LOVE is a quick story that packs a powerful punch, and perhaps a few life lessons as well.

The only person who is responsible for your happiness… is you. If you don’t seek it out and accept what is expected of you by family and others then that was your choice… one that could have ended differently. Maddy is about to finish college and head into a future that is not really of her own choosing. Her family expects her to marry the “right man”, one who will be an asset to the company and their social standing – whether they actually love each other or not is not their concern and completely beside the point of a power marriage. They have him all picked out for her, basically all she has to do is show up at the altar and speak her lines.

Jackson and Maddy’s romance is a lovely first love-last love story that captures your heart very easily. Of course, there are obstacles to overcome and choices to make. I enjoyed their journey very much. Yet what truly drew me into this story was Maddy’s growth over the time spent with Jackson and the realization that her own happiness mattered more than following decisions that were not her own. So often women and men do what is expected of them by others and end up wondering why happiness or love eluded them. I cheered Maddy as she made her choices for she was deciding on her own future, her own happiness… and that is what really matters most.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

A sweet romance filled with self discovery and oppurtunity. Madeline is struggling, floundering under the weight if her families expectations, whilst Jackson is trying to find acceptance for who.he is.
Whilst onenis open and honest, one holds a secret that threatens the fragile love building between the two.
A heartwarming story of secrets, discovery, choices and love.

This one has left me feeling a bit underwhelmed. Maddy is used to following what her family wants but marrying a man she feels nothing for? That changes when she meets Jackson. The star quarterback for the school she is attending.

Really it’s an insta love romance with her family not approving. The whole story felt like it could have been more but lacked any depth. I was more interested in Kyle and Abbey than Jackson and Maddy.

Ooooooh this book was so much fun to read! I flew through it in a day!

While this story is very insta-lovey, I feel like it worked for these characters. There are plenty of steamy/sexy scenes throughout, but you could also tell that these characters genuinely cared so much for one another.

Definitely recommend this one if you’re looking for a fun, light college romance!

Excellent love story which defies odds between two unlikely protagonists. Sarah White produced a sweet love story that kept you rooting for Madeline and Jackson the entire way through.

Madeline Stone is finally taking the chance to live her life regardless of the plans her father and three brothers have for her. She has met and is falling in love with Jackson Rider, college quarterback and someone not from her rich life. He is everything she has needed and more. He is her friend and lover and gives her meaning. The big problem is that her brothers will not back off and let her make her own decisions. Maddy is determined to live fully and with Jackson, her brothers be damned.

I had such high hopes for Rookie In Love despite the negative reviews but after starting it, I didn't like any of the characters. The romance started off just wrong. Madeline was just an annoying character and so was Jackson.

I ended up DNFing at 36%.

I would have liked this book better if the heroine didn't have a boyfriend and wasn't consumed with thoughts about family obligations and what would look the best for her family, especially when we know that he is going to end up with Jackson. Jackson was the best character in this short story if you ask me. He easily won me over and I thought of him as the voice of reason. Madeline was almost a hypocrite sometimes and it was bothering me that she had double standards. What surprised me is that we had some character development which is unusual in short books like this one and it scored major points for the book. The book wasn't bad despite my tone when I began the review. Madeline was not my favorite person in the beginning, but she is slowly developing her personality and it worked on the book's favor.
