This is very much an insta love story. I found the young adults too young - especially Maddy. She let herself be constantly swayed by the opinions of others and didn’t know her own mind at all. Yet when others try to give her good advice she doesn’t want to listen to them. The only reason she gave up Greg, I think, is because he found someone else when they were on a break. I liked Jackson more but was annoyed that he fell back to an old hook up (even though they ultimately didn’t sleep together) when Maddy did not hook up with him right away. Yes he admitted to it but should not have done it in the first place. It was also incredible that she would not figure out Jackson’s family business in this day of google searches. Too much of the story seemed very old fashioned and stilted - and frankly a little demeaning to young women like Abby and Maggie. I’m usually a huge fan of Tule books but this one didn’t do it for me.

Rookie in Love by Sarah White
He’s beneath her…and that’s what she wants.
Hotel heiress Madeline Stone has always played it safe and been the good girl. Since the death of her mother, she’s let her father and older brothers dictate her life, but this is her last year of college and perhaps her last year of freedom.
So when she meets sexy star quarterback Jackson Rider, she’s tempted to take a risk. His sexy combination of bad boy and sweet makes her feel alive and reckless with passion she never imagined. His encouragement and love helps her develop the voice she never had. She knows Jackson checks none of the boxes on her family’s life plan. But she has new goals for herself and new dreams. Can she find the strength to stand up for what she
This is Madeline Stone and Jackson Rider's story.
Taking in the moonlit lawns littered with passed-out frat boys and half-empty red cups, I fight the buzz-fueled giggle that bubbles up in my chest. I mentally check off a list of things I’ve been warned against. Young woman walking alone, check. In the presence of inebriated frat boys, check. Impossibly high heels, check. Tiny dress and a tinier purse—containing only a key, a phone, and a small tube of lip gloss—that is noticeably too small for any weapon or attacker deterrent, check. I should be terrified but I’m not. This is what freedom feels like—well, freedom and two feet covered in blisters.
I hop around and struggle to remove my shoes without tipping over. I’m not drunk, but I’m not exactly sober and the uneven sidewalk along Fraternity Row is making these ridiculous heels impossible. With my shoes dangling from my hand, I take the last few steps toward my building, an old frat house that has been converted into living space for students. The sounds of a pool party echo through the night from the house next door, and I roll my eyes as a gleeful girl-scream pierces the air, followed by a large splash.
“I’m Madeline Stone.” “Nice to meet you, Madeline. I’m Jackson Rider.”
Then it hits me. This large, completely male being that stands below me, grinning as I burn from embarrassment and excitement, is our football team’s quarterback.
“So, my beautiful rookie, what are we doing up here?” My heart speeds up at the realization that he just called me “his,” and even though it may have been a slip, a thrill of pleasure rushes through me at the thought. It takes a moment for me to remember what I came up here to do, and I shake my head to clear the fog.
“There’s a meteor shower tonight. It should happen any minute now, and in order to see it best we need to be above the lights.” That’s right, that’s what I’m doing up here.

Loved this story of following your heart and not what your family expects you do. Maddy was dating the perfect gentleman, at least that is what her family thought. Maddy loved him but not really loved him. Then meeting Jackson, the quarterback on the football team, there was an instantaneous connection, But now she needs to decide what she needs to do.

Maddy and Jackson were just perfect, an explosive chemistry between them. Jackson was so patient with Maddy. My favorite line, "Once you accept how much you love someone and surrender to that, all decisions get easier." This is my first book my this author and will be looking for more.

Jackson meets Madeline when she is returning drunk from celebrating her 21st birthday. She is trying to climb up to watch a meteor shower. He stays with her watches the shower and takes care of her. Her family has her life all planned out and it does not include the star quarter back. When he checks up on her the next day you can't help but fall a little bit for Jackson. The more time they spend together the more Madeline wants to alter her well laid plans. Very cute read.

Madeline and Jackson’s love story is so cute, their chemistry is over the top, leading them around and letting the chips of life fall where they may.
New author for me, and I will watch for other books by her cause I enjoyed this one.

This is my first book by this author. I thought it was pretty cute. I really liked Jackson, Maddy was a little wish-washy for me. But overall it was a nice quickly for an afternoon read.

Rookie in Love is short and sweet story about first love and being accepted for who we are. The chemistry between Jackson and Madeline was instantaneous and smoking, but the understanding and comfort they felt with each other was beautiful and what everyone strives for in a relationship. To be loved for who we are, not what we are or where we come from. This was my first book by this author but it won't be my last.

I love sports romances. So I was looking forward to reading Rookie in Love.
I really wanted to love it, but it sadly missed the mark for me.

The book started out strong with the way the characters met. I was excited.
And then it was a series odd encounters. A lot of them getting to know each other was skimmed over. There wasn’t any witty sexy banter that I crave in my favorite romance novels.
Madeline is young and it showed. She was immature, wishy-washy and unrelatable.
Jackson was just okay. I really wish we had his POV to read and compare.

This storyline had a lot of potential but it felt rushed, awkward and unnatural. Sadly, I can’t say I’d recommend.

This is my first book by this author and it won’t be the last because I really enjoyed Rookie in Love.
I loved the characters and the storyline it drew me in from the first chapter and kept me interested to the very last line. The hero is a cool, rough loveable jock who knows how to charm the ladies but underneath his cool bad boy image is a loveable guy who when he falls he falls big....
This is a quick entertaining fun hot read it will make you smile it will make you swoon and it has the perfect mix of humour, passion and angst, it’s easy to read and the story flows really well. Looking forward to reading more from this author.

Sarah White’s Rookie in Love is a sweet, sexy story of finding love in college. Madeline has well-meaning if controlling male family members that have her life all mapped out, even down to who she should marry after college. The fact that she slowly breaks away is not as much of a surprise as that it took her so long to do so. She does so with another college student, Jackson. Jackson has the star player reputation to go with his star football playing ability. Still I liked him better than Madeline’s family family’s choice.

The story is a fun escapism read with the usual misunderstandings, drama, friends and family angst that comes with young adulthood. While the story may have seemed predictable, the man who I wanted to win Madeline’s heart did. This make it a satisfying read for me.

Madeline and Jackson’s love story in Rookie in Love by Sarah White was truly enjoyable. Hotel heiress Madeline Stone has lived the life of the perfect, good girl since the death of her mother; allowing her father and brothers to dictate the life she’s been living. She is afraid of making waves or living life like a normal college coed. That is until she accidently encounters the college’s sexy quarterback, Jackson Rider, after celebrating her birthday. Jackson enjoys life, living it to the fullest, unlike Madeline. Jackson makes Madeline feel alive and reckless, tempting her to enjoy life and stand up for herself. Jackson would not check any of the boxes for Madeline’s life plan, set by her family, but she has suddenly developed new goals and dreams for herself. With Jackson’s love and encouragement Madeline just might find that happy ever after.

I admired how strong Madeline was but worried about the expectations her family demanded of her. I loved that Jackson taught her how to live life to the fullest before her anxieties caused her to retreat and bow to her brother’s demands. In the long run, she needed to do what was best for her, not her brothers or father; it was her life to live and learn from any mistakes she might make.

Ms. White wrote a wonderful, sexy and emotional story that is not to be missed. She provided a tale rich with sexual chemistry, amusing banter, and endearing characters giving Madeline and Jackson a chance at having a true love. I highly recommend Rookie in Love to other readers.

This is my first book by Sarah White and I really enjoyed it. It was an easy book to read. The words flowed seamlessly, the characters were fabulous and the storyline, even though done before, was just superb.
I adored Jackson. He is very much a mans man, but the way he fell for Maddy and fell hard was fantastic. It had me cheering for not only their relationship but them as a couple.
It took a while for Maddy to grow that backbone, but I was happy that she finally did.
I would definitely read more from this author in the future.

Rookie in Love has been a quick, fun and sexy read. Stars Maddy (Madeline to her controlling but loving family) and Jackson (football jock, hunk and all round good guy) are both easy to love and I found myself loving them both very quickly, though at times I wanted to slap Maddy around the ears and tell her to get a life. She spent much of the story worrying that her family wouldn’t let her love Jackson. Of course that all got resolved in the end, but still ...
The story itself is pretty much your classic college love story with a bit of humour and a hefty dose of angst thrown in. It flows well, is easy to read and hard to put down and generally an entertaining read.

Madeline has accepted that she'll follow whatever her family wants her to do - marry a perfect guy, produce perfect children, become the perfect wife. But she wants time for herself first. And she meets Jackson.

Overall, the book had an engaging plot. I was concerned it would be a little insta-lust-y but it wasn't. It did jump a bit too fast from Jackson and Madeline getting to know each other to "I think about you all the time" but it wasn't completely out of nowhere.

Madeline was a likeable character in an unlikeable situation, Jackson seemed a little too-good-to-be-true. Despite hiding a secret, he didn't really seem to have any character faults, which I love in a romantic hero.

The writing and dialogue seemed a little forced at times, especially when the characters were trying to be flirty, and the sex scenes were the absolute opposite of sexy. The foreplay scenes were quite explicit then the sex scenes were half a sentence? Eh.

Greg was super wishy-washy and I was actually really glad with the end of his storyline.

The supporting romance was cute and enjoyable.

Overall good, probably wouldn't reread but wouldn't dissuade anyone from reading it.

Rookie in love was a book I expected to love so much but just... didn't..
I felt like it all went to quickly, the two main characters hit it off from the get go and I didn't like it that much.
Such a shame, but I am sure that there will be others that will love it more than I did!
