“Wickedly seductive” is one way to describe this novel, it is also witty, entertaining and exciting. “It’s Getting Scot in Here” is an amazing start to an addictive new series and if there is one writer who knows how to write witty and sexy highland heroes, it is Suzanne Enoch.

In order to honour the promise that their Scottish father gave their English mother many many years ago, the MacTaggert brothers find themselves going to London to each find a English bride. Considering that these three brothers have never set foot south of the border and spend their days farming and living the rough life of a highlander, you can just imagine the fun that awaits you on the pages of this hilarious and yet highly seductive book.

It was the eldest brother Coll who had drawn the straw and was to be wedded to the bride of their mother’s choice, but Amelia-Rose Baxter is not the timid, biddable English rose that the brothers had imagined and hoped to find. Instead they find an independent and smart young lady who isn’t afraid to speak her mind. Niall, the youngest MacTaggert finds himself as the peacemaker who is trying desperately to show Coll in the best light possible. With the fear of loosing their father’s estate if they don’t keep their promise to their mother, the stakes are high and they need to get on with marrying as soon as possible.

While Amelia-Rose May be the exact opposite of what Coll is looking for in a bride, it seems that Niall has found his match. But with no title to offer can he really find his happily ever after?

Absolutely loved this book! Suzanne Enoch continues to mesmerize!!!

I guess I need to read more Suzanne Enoch!

Amelia-Rose (Amy) and Niall are an extremely sweet couple, and their relationship is built on understanding, compromise, and active consent. Enoch brilliantly navigates a rather difficult trope (woman set to marry one man falls in love with his brother) and avoids the common pitfalls associated with it (there isn’t even a hint of disloyalty). And despite the fact that this was set almost entirely in London, it never lost its Highlander side. I also really appreciated this beginning of what is sure to be a series-long arc of familial bonding. I do wonder if Eloise will get her own book—if so, I understand her sparing appearances in this one. If not, that’s regrettable, because she is a delight.

All in all, a sweet, fun historical romance and the beginning of a series I will look forward to in the coming years.

I have read some of Ms. Enoch's novels and I enjoyed this one as well. Lady Amelia-Rose Baxter puts on a facade to society, when she really is outspoken and enjoys reading. Her parents agree to a betrothal to Coll MacTaggert, a Highlander. Amelia-Rose enjoys London and has no plans on leaving. However, she feels she must obey her parents. Things change when she meets Niall MacTaggert, her supposed betrothed's brother. Niall and his brothers are forced to return to London based a document signed by both their parents. I did like the backstory and how it is incorporated into this story. It gives another perspective to it. Niall is stubborn, tall, shears sheep, gets into fights....in other words a Highlander that does not want to be in London. He is immediately interested in Amelia-Rose. As they spend time together, feelings between them grow, but with her being betrothed to his brother as well saving the Scottish estate, and her parents wanting her to have a title, their relationship seems hopeless. Amelia-Rose needs to decide what she wants, to which Niall gives her a choice...the only one who asks her what she wants. A great read for a new series! I cannot wait to read the next novel!

4-4.5 stars

This is the first book I’ve read by this author, and I am now a fan! I really enjoyed this book. I loved the main characters, I loved the relationship among the brothers, and I loved their sister and mother. Whatvreally set this book apart for me was the vividness of the supporting cast (so to speak). The characters were well-developed and memorable, and I wanted to learn more about almost all of them (okay, not Amelia-Rose’s mother, who is awful). I’m excited to read Coll’s and Aden’s books, and dare I hope Jane gets her happy ending?

Thanks to Netgalley for the eARC. All opinions are my own.

Another great Enoch read! Thoroughly enjoyed the characters and setting. Looking forward to the other two brothers' stories, maybe more on the sister and I'd love to have a bit of a happy ending for the parents to! This will be ordered for the store for sure.

Oh, you're going to love this! It's Getting Scot In Here by Suzanne Enoch is a fantastic historical romance. Ms. Enoch has presented us with a book that is well-written and populated with characters that are outstanding. Lady Aldriss has summoned her three sons to London from their home in the Highlands. Or maybe you'd say blackmailed them. They must find English brides before their younger sister marries. Amelia-Rose has been tasked with marrying the eldest McTaggart brother. He disappears for days within minutes of their first meeting leaving his brother Niall to fill in and make excuses for him. Amelia and Niall's story is loaded with drama, humor, action and steamy sexy bits. This story captured me on the first page and didn't set me free until the end. I loved reading It's Getting Scot In Here and can't wait for the next book. It's Getting Scot In Here is book 1 of the Wild Wicked Highlanders but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book that I received from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

A fan of Suzanne Enoch, I thought the story was delightful and entertaining..

Amelia-Rose Baxter's parents want nothing more from their daughter in that she makes a match that comes with a tilte to elevate them in society. Very outspoken, she's determined to stay true to herself and marry someone who will accept her for with all her shortcomings. Unfortunately they would need to reside in and love all of London.

In strolls rugged Highlander Niall MacTaggert and his brothers...One betrothed to Ameila-Rose. Coll, the eldest must marry or lose the ancestral estate but Niall becomes infatuated with Ameila-Rose and eventually takes her as his own when she is released from her marriage agreement with Coll.

Niall tempts to court Amelia-Rose, despite her reservations but succumbs to his charm. Her family opposes Niall, and tries to pawn her off to someone with a title and no money. Determine to keep her for himself, Niall plans an elopement and Ameila-Rose agrees although the results would cause a scandal for her and her family.

Again, this was a nice story that I truly enjoyed reading. Although there were some parts that dragged a little, it had it's share of conflicts. Some parts were very predictable but the story was still good. I also did not care much for the over use of the Scottish brogue at times. It became a bit overboard. Regardless of those drawbacks, it was still a delightful and entertaining story.

This ARC was provided by NetGalley and St. Martin's Press in return for a fair and honest review. All opinions in this review are my own.
