I do enjoy anything to do with camping! The Angelino Family head out camping for their family vacation. They swim, play badminton, and hike the trails. Through some experiences along the way, the family is presented with some great teachable moments. The children learn how to react when you come across a wild animal. They also learn why it’s important to dispose of your garbage properly.
I enjoyed this little book and think it would make a great camp series!
Thank you to BookBuzz, J. A. Angelo and NetGalley for this e-copy, my opinions are my own.

First of all, this book was very difficult to read, because it is not adapted to be read on Kindle.

Such a short book makes me think it would be suitable for children of 6-8 years. A walk in nature is therefore a good idea,. If that is the case, more senses like color, sounds and smell should be incorporated to dramatize the events.

The cover is joyful and pretty.

The ending is open, "they still had to face the consequences". For small children it might be better to describe an action so that they can have an example of a possible consequence. In my experience some small children might become anxious if there is an open ending like that.

Angelo's story tells a short story centered around a camping trip by the Angelino family. While the story has a good moral , do not lie to your parents, there are many things that prevented me from really enjoying the book. The characters do not have names. They are simply "the three boys" throughout the story. Everything is explicitly stated, which leaves little to the imagination. It reads less as a story and more as a parent "telling or lecturing" their child on what not to do . Overall, the illustrations were cute, but a very flat story.
