I keep on loving this series so much and can't wait for more! The storylines and characters continue to keep me wrapped up in their loves, laughs and lives.

This is definitely a case of the Reader making a big mistake! First, I love this author and I love her books and simply fall into her series. Unfortunately I couldn’t do that with this one. It says it’s a stand-alone but IMO the best way to understand all the characters is to read the series... otherwise it can feel a little character overwhelming. I should have started this series from the beginning and didn’t. I would absolutely recommend this author and all of her books to anyone and now I’m off to read book ONE!

Ok, I haven't read every single book in the Colorado High Country Series (*hangs head in shame*) but I have read most of the I-Team series. So, this book is a collaboration of these two amazing series in an action packed way. As usual, Ms. Clare has the knack for drawing you in. It was hard to keep track since there was an abundance of characters but it worked. I got choked up. I even cried at certain parts. It was real and intense and I love Ms. Clare's ability to just bring it all together.

I'll be honest, I've been a fan of this author's work since I first picked up Extreme Exposure, but like any author, I've had my ups and downs with her work, and that, to me, is perfectly acceptable, because a book can't please everyone. However, I am extremely pleased to say that this is my favorite of the Colorado High Country books to date!

I had a suspicion that when this was announced as a crossover novel with Ms. Clare's I-Team series that she'd use the same writing style that she had in Dead By Midnight: An I-Team Christmas, where she told the story from multiple points of view, and I was right. However, this time I wasn't as annoyed by it. It seemed that no one hero or couple was in the spotlight too much, rather that they all had an equal share of it, which I really appreciated, especially with all the I-Team cameos in the book. I actually think that the multiple points of view actually helped heighten the suspense of the story!

Speaking of the story, I was taken on a wild roller coaster ride! Having never lived in the west, I don't know what it's like to live with the fear of wildfires spreading out of control. This book let me experience the tiniest bit of that situation for myself. It was so gripping that I couldn't put it down and wound up draining the battery on my Kindle and staying up entirely too late reading the story! The events were life altering for the town, and I can't help but wonder where things in the series will go from here!

For me, this was an amazing story from start to finish, and one that I highly recommend to readers of both Contemporary Romance and Romantic Suspense!

I’m a big fan of Pamela Clare and love both the I-Team (hard-hitting romantic suspense) and Colorado High Country (straight contemporary) series. So what could be better than a crossover novel?

I must admit I was initially a bit wary that CHASING FIRE, the aforementioned crossover, would end up being all fan service and have very little substance. But, boy, was that a completely misguided worry! Ms. Clare was in top form as usual, delivering a highly emotionally compelling story of courage, loss, and recovery and weaving that complex emotional tale seamlessly across favourite characters from both series. Considering the villain in this story is a forest fire gone rogue, I was incredibly (but pleasantly) surprised to find myself compelled to keep turning the pages to see what happened next, as I would with an I-Team novel. Definitely recommended for fans of either series!

What’s not to love about this book, it’s by Pamela Clare and it’s about Firefighters. The characters really grab your attention with their story and really having you turning the pages to see how they get their HEA. The chemistry between the characters is hotter than the flames that erupt throughout out the story. Loved it! Totally recommend and can’t wait for the next book.

I'm a big fan of Pamela Clare's Colorado High Country series featuring a mountain search and rescue team and have read all of the books in that series althoughI have to admit, I haven't read the I-team series, because I don't usually read romantic suspense. In this book, Pamela brings together characters from both series in a suspenseful plot line involving a massive forest fire that threatens the town of Scarlett, where the search and rescue team is located. Meanwhile, quite a few of the I-Team characters get involved in various ways that don't seem at all contrived just to fit them in.

This isn't a romance, but rather an ensemble book that gives a bunch of past characters/couples another chance to shine, and a gift to readers of either or both series who wanted another look at their favorite characters. There was also lots of fascinating info on how wild fires start, grow, move, and are fought - particularly apropos after our devastating wildfire season here in CA. For a reader who was familiar with only one of these series, I thought the author did a great job in introducing all of the characters, keeping them straight, and fitting them into the plot, as well as half-convincing me to overlook my usual aversion to romantic suspense, and give the I-Team series a try. There were lots of adrenaline pounding moments, tender scenes, and friendship, and one of the final scenes involving Winona (a side character throughout the CO high country series), and her wolf, Shota, moved me to tears. I've been hoping Winona would get a book of her own, so maybe that's coming soon?

Ive only read some of the two series so I wasn't familiar with every character. It did seem pretty stuffed with characters and more of an update book. The action was well paced and I loved the setting of Colorado

Chasing Fire is a fabulous romantic suspense and a wonderful read connecting both the I-Team and the Colorado High Country characters. I loved the story and the characters and was thoroughly engaged throughout. Ms Clare is an amazing writer who brings her stories and characters to life and takes you on a journey with them

CHASING FIRE is the seventh book in Pamela Clare's "Colorado High Country' series; as well as being a crossover to her fabulous "I-Team" series. It starts with a small flame, then the wind picks up and embers begin flying everywhere. In a moment it becomes a raging fire; and it's racing to the small town of Scarlet Springs.

The recuers/firemen have no immediate back up and members of various law enforcement agencies are in the woods participating in a training exercise using paintballs. There's also a missing group of children and their counselors; who haven't heard that they are in the way of a huge fire. There's panic as people are trying to save pets and forest animals, evacuating as many people as they can; and the women worrying about their men who are at the very core of the raging inferno.

CHASING FIRE is packed with action, and thrills. Jumping off the pages are the fear and worry that envelop the reader. It's a nail-biting experience as a helicopter is shot down by a drone and the four men survive the crash, only to land right in front of the fire. Great Romantic Suspense as only Pamela Clare's can provide to the reader.

An interesting story, but keep in mind this is not recommended if you have not read the series so far. A lot of mentioned of other characters, and I read this is a combination of two different series, so made it even harder to keep track of people and couples. I did like it enough to finish it, but tended to skim a bit as a most of the points from the past didn't mean anything to me. A good story, with a lot of couples dealing with issues besides the danger of the forest fires. Would recommend, but not as a first book.

This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.

I have read the I-Team series so that was a great surprise to see a new book with previous characters in a cross over with Colorado High Country series. I have not read the Colorado High Country books so I was not familiar with those characters but there was enough explanations of who people were that it was not important plus there was the troubled romance between Libby and Brandon.

What an emotional book with the loss of property during the fires, the injuries, and the devastation when wives thought their husbands were killed by the fire. There were three separate groups that found themselves in danger and had to find creative ways to stay alive.

I always love when we get more updates on characters from a series that you have read through and loved! I was even funny how Marc's escape into the mountains was mentioned as they were returning to those mountains! I just can't say enough that this book is full of romance, family, humor, heartbreak, and most importantly hope and recovery.

Well I started the New Year off with a bang from two of my favorite Colorado gangs. Hey look that rhymed lol. Anyways this book was pure genius. I love both the I-Team series and Colorado High Country series. So taking current events like the wild fires and two of my favorite series and putting them together in one action packed, heart melting book was like giving all the fan-girls and guys a bookgasm. Seeing all my favorite past characters as they fight to save lives and the town of Scarlet Springs had my heart racing almost the whole book. I don't know if you have read my review on Dead By Midnight An I-Team Christmas, but after I read that book the I-Team wasn't the only one to suffer from PTSD. I swear thinking my Marc was shot had me losing my shit! So when Marc and other beloved heroes almost lost their lives in this book I had some really ugly fan girl freak outs.

After scaring the crap out of my husband and kids by yelling every 20 mins or so " OMG Noooooo Please NO NO NONOONONONOOOOOOOOO." I had to go into my bedroom with the door closed and read so as not to disturb my family. To say this book was action packed is an understatement. It was pulse pounding, edge of your seat. I loved every freaking minute of it. Of course Marc, Julian, Nate, Gabe, Jesse, Eric, Vicki, and Sophie were the shining stars of the book for me. Marc Hunter being my all time favorite Pamela Clare hero. He is just panty melting delicious. Any book with Marc in it will be a hit for me. Truly though this book had a great plot. After watching and praying as wildfires devastated California it was moving to read a story related to it with a shining light on the everyday heroes that put their lives on the line in these situations. I don't know about anyone else but it gave me a look into how hard their jobs are. I mean I know they are hard but getting a deeper look into all they do to protect us, all their families go through worrying that they may lose their loved ones, it humbles me. And even though this book is a work of fiction, you can tell Pamela Clare did her research. This book really was a fangirl dream and if you liked the I-Team or Colorado High Country series then this book is a must. And if you haven't read them and you are looks for some great Contemporary/Romantic Suspense books give them a try.

CHASING FIRE by Pamela Clare is a roller coaster of a ride! Full of heart stopping action with decisions being made in the fly! Wow! This is an incredible emotional story with warm feel good touches.

You can’t go wrong reading a Pamela Clare novel. Chasing Fire is simply awesome. Bringing the Scarlet Springs community together with some of the I-Team to battle a common enemy was wonderfully developed and written. I especially like the realistic enemy of the wildfire as opposed to a human villain. Perhaps that is because where I live across the country from where the fires raged this fall, it brought to life all those news reports that I would see each night on the news. Real people facing real danger and devastation.

Bear is always a character important in his own way to Scarlet Springs. A Colorado High Country book wouldn’t be the same if he didn’t make an appearance. Thank you for including him and for reminding us that community includes more than the big and strong.

I think anyone could enjoy this book even if they haven’s been reading the two series. I have missed one of the I-Team books but had no problem with any of the character’s background. Still I found it an amazing nail biting story in which I was able to catch up with some of my favorite characters.

An ARC of the book was given to me by the publisher through Net Galley which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This was so extremely intense, and so educational.
I’m from the Midwest. I am clueless when it comes to wildfires.
Clare writes details beautifully and it never feels like fluff.
It was nice to catch up with so many great couples from both series.
I received an arc from netgalley for my honest review.

This gorgeous crossover is the ultimate gift to Pamela Clare fans. Such a joy to catch up with my favorite characters, like "Darcangelo"! But more than just catching up, there was so much heart-racing action and tension as a massive wildfire threatens Scarlet Springs, Colorado. I had to pause reading several times to either catch my breath or wipe away tears.

There is a sweet new love story that threads this story but the real romance is found in how our favorite I-Team and Colorado High Country couples endure the wildfire. There's an added bonus in discovering the history behind Scarlet Springs' beloved hermit, Bear.

I loved this return to the world of Scarlet Springs and I-Team so much; I can only hope this means Pamela Clare is not done with their stories.

4.5 stars

An I-Team/Colorado High Team crossover? Be still my heart!! I can't wait to read this book. I'm picturing a hot bubble bath, dozens of candles and a bottle of wine. Close to heaven. It wasn't that long ago that California experienced some deadly forest fires and this book is chilling in the depiction of people caught in the path of a wildfire. This is not a traditional Romantic-Suspense. The romance, for the most part, is about couples from the previous books in both series, but it's really hot. The suspense is the fire bearing down on the town of Scarlet Springs. I couldn't put it down. I cried. Really a wonderful, fantastic, edge of your seat book. If you have read all the books in both series, you will LOVE this book!

Scarlet Springs Fire Chief Eric Hawke knows it has been a dry, hot summer and all the pieces are in place for a catastrophic fire, like the one that destroyed the town in the late 1800's. Early one morning his worst fear comes true. As Eric and his crew battle the entrenched bureaucracy and the fire, he gets help from an unexpected source. I-Team Hotties, Marc Hunter, Julian Darcangelo, and Zach McBride, are training in the forest near Scarlet Springs and join in the search and rescue efforts. The fire knows no boundaries and doesn't respect friendships or loved ones, it just burns everything in it's path.

Pamela Clare is a powerhouse in the romantic suspense genre, penning phenomenal nail-biting tales. Chasing Fire is no exception and with it she offers her seventh book in the Colorado High series and ninth in the I-Team series.

Eric Hawke has spent a great deal of time and effort trying to prepare his team at the Scarlet FD for the worst case scenario: an uncontrollable wildfire that will burn down his town. When a small fire breaks out in the nearby mountains, he and his crew will do everything to stop it but wavering officials threaten to turn it into his worst nightmare.

When Marc Hunter, Julian Darangelo, and Zach McBride, who were training in the mountains, see smoke, they don’t hesitate to join Hawke and the Rocky Mountain Search & Rescue Team to do everything to help, but will it be enough?

OMG I don't know how Pamela Clare does it. She has been writing for a very long time and one might think her storytelling could wane or be impossible to top, but she’s written an even better, unputdownable tale in which she incorporates characters from two of her series in an expertly balanced way. She takes her characters from sweet, sexy moments to real life threatening ones with vivid descriptions that take the reader on a heart pounding adventure.

Fans who have enjoyed either series will find that Chasing Fire hits the perfect emotional stop. If you’re new to her, perhaps you’ll need to keep closer track of the characters with the chills and thrills will be there nonetheless.
