This author is just hit or miss for me. Unfortunately, this one was sorta boring and didn’t really grab my attention.

Thank you Netgalley for this ARC of The Second Wife by Sheryl Browne.

When Rebecca loses her best friend Nicole, she has a feeling that it wasn't as innocent of a death as it was presented. Nicole has only been married for a short period of time, and during that time, she acted quite out of character, and almost fearful? So when Rebecca goes to Nicole's funeral, she is determined to meet her late friend's grieving husband and get to the bottom of what happened. But it doesn't take long until Rebecca also finds herself smitten with Nicole's husband, and quickly finds herself taking her place. But does this mean danger for Rebecca, or was Nicole's death innocent all along.

A quick and satisfying read, one that didn't quite go where I expected, but not in an unpleasant way. Easy beach read!

Unfortunately this book was not for me, it was a bit slower than I would like and it just didn't hold my attention. I am sure other people will love it!

This book was impossible to put down, it was a very easy read, but yet had me wanting more. The twists and turns, this was definitely a great thriller and a quick and easy one sitting read. I highly recommend to my fellow thriller and suspense junkies.

Ended up reading in one sitting because I couldn't put it down. Very easy reading plus a great story - definitely not a light and fluffy story, in fact quite the opposite. It was that good I immediately searched the author and bought another one as soon as I finished it. I'm yet to start that one because I figure I need a good block of spare time before starting as I'm sure I won't want to put it down.

This book started off a little slow, with Becky attending the funeral of her good friend Nicole who appears to have died after her suicide attempt. Becky doesn’t think things are as they appear. What could have pushed Nicole to ending her life? Was there more to her concerning emails, letters, and texts that Becky began receiving shortly after Nicole’s marriage to Richard.? Becky decides to get close to Nicole’s husband who she met at the funeral and begins to look closer at the relationship between Richard and his daughter Olivia that may have led Nicole to end her own life…. Or was there more to the story?

Impossible to put down and filled with twists, The Second Wife was a fast, intense read told from two perspectives, Nicole and her best friend Rebecca. Alternating between past and present, readers slowly learn the truth about Nicole's relationship to Richard, his relationship with Olivia, a manipulative daughter, and how Rebecca manages to pick up the pieces along the way. I loved this book!

Thankyou to NetGalley, Bookouture and the author, Sheryl Browne, for the opportunity to read a digital copy of The Second Wife in exchange for an honest and unbiased opinion.
I'm sorry but I found this book a struggle. I couldn't get into the storyline and it just did not hold my attention.
Unfortunately, not a book for me.

This book was very predictable. It still was an ok read. Kind of slow in parts. Thanks to NetGalley, the author and the publisher for the ARC of this book in return for my honest review. Receiving the book in this manner had no bearing on my review.

The task of repopulating the senior library has been an exciting and daunting task aS in a boarding school our aim is to encourage all members of the community to read. Because of this, I have been searching down a wide and diverse range of books to read that will entice a wide cross-section of the school to come in, browse and find books that they love.
Books like this will ensure that the senior students in the school see the library as a diverse, modern and exciting place with books that speak to them and they want to recommend to their friends, classmates, teachers and tutors.
It is an engrossing and exciting read with fully-formed characters and a plot that ensures that it's hard to look away. It is as far from formulaic as it is possible to be and kept me up far too late in order to finish it. I immediately wanted to read all of this writer's other books as I loved their voice and found that it really drew me into the story and made me think about it even when I'd stepped away from this tale.
This is a thought-provoking read which I'm sure will be a popular and well-read addition to our new library; I'm grateful to have had the opportunity to read it and I know that the students are going to absolutely love it too!

I love when I’m swept off my feet from the beginning. It set the tone for what I knew would be an adventure. This has the perfect amour of drama, relatability and great writing!

The cover copy tells you that Rebecca has stepped into Nicole's old life, living in Nicole's house with Nicole's husband, surrounded by Nicole's things. What it doesn't mention (but is revealed early enough in the book that I don't think I'll spoil it by telling you now) is that Rebecca and Nicole were best friends who haven't communicated much since Nicole and Richard were married.

After meeting them at the funeral, Rebecca is drawn to Richard and his adult daughter...and she also wants to find out what happened to her best friend. The perfect house doesn't seem to line up with what she knew about her friend. The fact that Nicole has given up her beloved oil painting doesn't seem right. The chapters alternate between Nicole in the days before her death, and Rebecca as she tries to learn what happened to cause Nicole's death. There is a lot of sex in this book. Far more than I've ever encountered in a domestic thriller. More than in a lot of romance novels. It kept me intrigued, but it's not one of the best.

I’m just now reading some of my backlogged netgalleys and this is one of them. I enjoyed the pacing, the characters and the storyline.

Rebecca and Nicole have been best friends but distance made them drift apart so Rebecca was shocked to learn of Nicole’s suicide. When Rebecca meets Nichole’s husband Richard for the first time at the funeral she feels something amiss and steps into Nicole’s old life to find the truth

The Second Wife By Sheryl Browne is a dark twisty psychological read .It is a fast paced well written book which is made even more interesting due to the unlikable characters and a surprise ending that I didn't see coming

I would like to thank Bookouture & NetGalley for providing an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest and fair review.
