This book was neither compelling nor believable. I couldn’t even get through half of it. Not a recommended read.

Took me a long time to get through this one and for the story to get rolling. I found the ending to be slightly rushed. I also could not identify with any of the characters.

I found this book a little slow and confusing. The characters were unpleasant, but I guess I wasn't meant too. The plot was well crafted, but overall I found the book confusing. Sorry, not my favourite.

Interesting read, original story that is not at all what it seems. The perfect couple who seem to have it all are something quite different when you scratch the surface

A gripping thriller with tons of secrets and lies. Kept me riveted to the end. I'm a big fan of the author and can't wait for more from her.

With thrillers and mysteries, I always find myself making assumptions about what the big twist is, or where the story is taking me. I found myself constantly wondering what and how the twist would be in this book, so maybe this one really snuck it by me.

It was an enjoyable read!

I received an ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review

Dark mystery that sucks you into a different place. A nightmare where no one wants to be. Good read. Can’t put it down. Wondering where it’s going to go And which way to turn

This was a good book! Started off decent and got better as you went on. Here's a few of my opinions:

-1- Definitely a book I’d check out from the library but not buy.
-2- A light read. Good to read alongside another book.
-3- There just could've been more depth to this. It was an interesting story. You didn't make any friends. You didn't think you knew the characters or even related to them. It was just a nice read.

It’s hard to write a review on this one bc the writing is a bit choppy so I’ll let book’s description do the talking this time!

People magazine does a great job of introducing us to "perfect couples". These are the pair who are just meant for each other. Surely Gwen and Blake, JLo and Alex, and Meghan and Harry have it all. Life would surely only get better and better fort these talented, wealthy, beautiful people.
Meet Claire and Angus, the perfect couple in Sarah Mitchell's novel, The Perfect Couple. Four months earlier, Claire, an attractive immigration lawyer met handsome, wealthy hotel entrepreneur, Angus. Love blossomed and they are now engaged to marry. After the fabulous wedding, surely this happy couple will need to take up residence in the ideal home.
Touring a possible "ideal" house, Claire meets the owner Mark. Although Mark is older, he reminds Claire of her first love Daniel. It is unsettling.
Now the unease begins. Claire if drawn to Mark. Lies are told and past secrets revealed. Angus' behavior becomes erratic and suspicious. Claire is unsettled by the fact that she doesn't know who she can trust. Her decisions don't all make sense and she wavers between being strong or being weak.
Sarah Mitchell delivers several jaw dropping moments in this book as well as a surprise at the end that you won't see coming.
The Couple is a quick read that will leave you questioning what do we ever really know about another person or another couples life.

I found this a little slow to begin with & struggled to get into it, but I percieved. I'm glad I did as it turned out to be a great psychological thriller.

Claire, meets & gets engaged to Angus after just 4 months. While buying a house, she meets the previous owner who reminds her of her ex, Mark. This leads to lies & secrets.

I'd definatly read another of Sarah Mitchell's books.

Thanks to netgalley for providing an Arc of this book in exchange for a review..

This was one of those books that snags you and when you finally finish it, you are astonished. I don't want to give away anything else about the book, but it was a great read.

Claire and Angus are a young professional couple, recently engaged and new homeowners. The house they have purchased, largely with Angus' money, is fabulous and they got it at a great price! Claire, an immigration lawyer, is thrilled, as she comes from a home where money was very tight. Claire's work and a tragedy from her past combine to introduce a man into her life who is not necessarily who she thinks he is. Strongly recommend.

3 ½ stars

Claire works in the home immigration office as a lawyer and is engaged to Angus even though they know each other for just 4 months. While buying their new home Claire meets the previous owner Mark, who reminds her of her ex boyfriend Daniel. Unable to resist Mark’s charm Claire embarks on a journey of lies, secrets and deceit

The Couple by Sarah Mitchell is s psychological thriller that starts slow but felt a little rushed at the end. I couldn't warm up to the protagonist but there were enough surprises and the ending was good to make me read more by Sarah Mitchell

I would like to thank Bookouture & NetGalley for providing an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest and fair review.

I found this book to be too slow of a burn, with no likeable characters. I kept waiting for action throughout the first half, which is all the farther that I got, and it just didn't deliver. Just not for me. Thank you to NetGalley, Bookouture and the author for the opportunity to read and review!

You will think you gave this book figured out and then will be shocked at some of the twists! I enjoyed the alternating perspectives from current times to the past as this story unfolded. Very suspenseful and thrilling!

Unfortunately this book wasn’t for me . I found it very drawn out and quite boring until the final few chapters . I found all the characters very unlikeable.

One of those books which are good in some parts, but not so good in others. Claire and Angus are newly engaged after meeting 4 months ago buy a house from Mark who reminds her of her university romance which didn’t end well. It veers from now to five years ago. It’s only after getting most of the way through this novel that the relevance of Claire’s job becomes apparent, but that didn’t make it less boring sadly and I skimmed those sections. Anyone wanting to know more about these things could read non fiction, search the web or simply watch or listen to news bulletins. Claire?? What can be said about her? Infuriating, weird and self absorbed spring to mind and you begin to wonder how on earth she got a job like this. None of the other characters were likeable in any way. I did enjoy the way the book was written and it was certainly a story with a difference, even if I didn’t wholly love it!
