Oh this was such a great romantic suspense! I am a sucker for “stone cold man meets woman who melts his heart” & this 100% delivered. Mariah and Griffin were delightful and even though I called the villain twist about ten pages in, it was still suitably terrifying during the reveal (Though TW: attempted sexual assault & rape threats). Still not sold on living in Alaska, sorry, but am definitely eager for the rest of the books in this series & visiting via reading.

Mariah's well connected husband is trying to kill her so she goes to Alaska to get help from Alaska Force. Griffin is part of Alaska Force, a group of guys who served their country and now just want to help others. Griffin is irritated at how much Mariah's southern drawl and upbeat attitude effect him. Almost against his will, he becomes protective of her and pays the price for feeling emotions again. Lots of suspense and romance make this a great read!

Wow. Alpha male? Check. Beautiful scenery? Check. A smart and savvy heroine? Check. This book has everything I love in a good romance. The heroine saves herself and finds her way back at the same time. I love the character development, even of the secondary characters and hope to see them in spin-off titles soon. It was a great read and I'm sad it's over!
