Thankyou to NetGalley, BooksGoSocial and the author, D P Conway, for the opportunity to read a digital copy of Who Trespass Against Us in exchange for an honest and unbiased opinion.
I thought this book was such a good read. Even though it is a blend of fact and fiction, the fact remains 58 people died ( not including the shooter ) and over 800 people injured senselessly.
I thought the storyline was well thought out and written. I was hooked from the start.
Well worth a read.

How do you tell a story so shocking, that it should not be real and yet burst in upon our collective consciousness just six months ago? I am talking about Stephen Paddock's one-man assault on Las Vegas from a barricaded suite at Mandalay Bay, upon a helpless crowd of Route 91 Festival fans, ending in the deaths of almost three score Americans.
"Who Trespass Against Us," by debut author D.P. Conway sets the background of a lonely and deranged childhood (from actual records and images gleaned from the hyperactive news feed) leading to a dramatic last judgment for Paddock following the tragedy. He blends his own experience into the dramatic mixture (his daughter's near miss at attending) to bring about a climactic reveal. It will give you pause to consider your own response to so many terrorist blasphemies in America' recent past. Spoiler Alert! Thornton Wilder's Emily Gibbs would be right at home with this ending.

**This was a tough one as I live in Vegas and while i wasn't there, it's till a tough night to relive.

This almost weaves too much fact and fiction that the reader can't distinguish. That is a credit to the storytelling but a downfall to understanding actual events. Conway does a great job of weaving a lot of things together and making a cohesive story that is compelling and gripping. I almost wish it has just been done as a fiction story and not intertwined with a real event.

This book was complicated with good character development and I would never have guessed the ending. Excellent reading !!!

I was interested in this book all of the way through. I did have a bit of trouble dissecting fact from fiction in some areas. The history of Stephen Paddock's father, mother and Mary was quite interesting. I had hoped, however, that the author would have been able to get more into Stephen;s mind (and his brother's lives). I realize that many of the persons mentioned are still alive and do not want to either be portrayed or examined.

All in all, I found this to be an interesting read. The only part I am on the fence about is with the religious references/themes.

Many Thanks to the Publisher and NetGalley for a remarkable read.
