A Pygmalion gender flip, “Million Dollar Devil” is where fantasy becomes reality.

Daredevil Jimmy Rowan has one weakness, he cannot say no to a dare. Meanwhile, Lizzy Banks’ weak link in her perfect world is her obsession to be praised and loved by her emotionally unavailable father.

In a twist of fate, they met in a seedy bar in the not so rich side of Atlanta. Lizzy needed a man to be the face of the new line of men’s clothing being launched by Banks Ltd., her family’s fashion brand. Jimmy needed money to support his brother and send him to a school where he is not going to be bullied.

In an unusual negotiation, Lizzy was able to convince Jimmy that for $1 million, he will leave his daredevil ways behind and become James Rowan – upper crust gentleman worthy of the Ivy League.

So, in the grand tradition of George Bernard Shaw’s Pygmalion, better known in Broadway as “My Fair Lady,” Jimmy Rowan became James Rowan under Lizzy’s tutelage. And just like Eliza Doolittle, the rough diamond that was Jimmy is polished to be the debonair James Rowan.

Everything would have been great. In fact, there was the addition of Lizzy and Jimmy falling in love with each other. But Jimmy and Lizzy became the victims of their own success.

Turning into a celebrity overnight, Jimmy became the darling of fashion world. His persona became every woman’s fantasy while men want to emulate his style. And that was when everything fell apart.

So, the question becomes, will their love be enough to stand the onslaught of fame?

“Million Dollar Devil” is Rated T for Teens. Parental guidance strongly advised for the stunts.

I'm sad to say that this book didn't do much for me, kills me to say this cause I'm a huge Katy Evans fan, absolutely love her work! The blurb sounded so promising too.

Story starts out a bit slow, then with the characters, I really tried to like Lizzie, but no matter what, she just seemed to really bug me and I couldn't connect with her at all, which was a frustrating.
There was definitely some heat between Lizzie and James which I enjoyed. I think James had to be my favourite thing about this story.

The book does have some good moments. Overall I liked it, but didn't love it.

The premise of Million Dollar Devil had me hooked and intrigued. There the clash of the classes trope – rich girl, struggling boy – opposites-attract, and a sort of reversed-gender Pretty Woman thing going on. Katy Evans has always been a solid author for me, doling out book after book of steam, chemistry, and hot AF alpha-male heroes. While this book has everything that KE is usually so good at, it lacked something that was in all her other books I loved. It was a bit of the writing, the characters didn’t work for me… While it’s not a bad read, it’s not as good as I’m used to from this author.

All Lizzy Banks wants in life is to impress her father and inherit his billion-dollar company. She’s tasked with one last chance to show him that she has what it takes to take over when he retires: find the perfect man to become the face of the company’s new line of men’s clothing. Then she meets James “Jimmy” Rowan – YouTube daredevil, protective older brother, and a gorgeous man who is in need of some cash. They strike a million dollar deal to clean up and sophisticate the man so he can become the model Lizzy needs.

I wish I could’ve loved Million Dollar Devil more. It’s probably my least favorite Katy Evans book. The writing just was NOT working for me. I couldn’t connect with the characters or their narratives (we get both their POVs) and at times I felt like one was too good for the other. I usually like the opposites-attract trope – Lizzy is as proper and good as a girl can get, while Jimmy is rough around the edges and a little dangerous – and while the chemistry is through the roof, I couldn’t bring myself to really root for them. I wish the story and characters could’ve been fleshed out a bit more.

Million Dollar Devil didn’t work for me, but if you love Katy’s more recent works, if might work for you. I’m still looking forward to and will read the next Million Dollar book, so I haven’t given up yet!

James is just delicious! This dirty mouthed bad boy had me from the first time we meet him. His fierce protectiveness over his brother had me swooning. I loved his bad boy ways.

Elizabeth is striving to be the son that he father never had. She wants him to see her for the business woman that she is. When she comes up with the idea to make James the face of her new line, who knew what the future would hold for these two!

Ms. Evans tells a great tale with characters that are easy to love. Great read!

I chose not to finish this book. I am normally a fan of the author's writing, and still am, but the story line was uninteresting and the characters not relatable.

While reading Million Dollar Devil I got the 'Pretty Woman' vibes, but role reversal and, he is not a prostitute, but a daredevil YouTuber and Lizzy will someday own her Father’s business. A Men’s clothing company.

Things I enjoyed, James I liked him a lot and I enjoyed his relationship with his brother, and sadly that is about it. Lizzy I could not connect with at all. I didn’t like her attitude, in fact, I found James to be too good for her which, I get sounds ironic considering their social and economic statuses. This story just seemed very one dimensional, not a whole lot of emotion to it for me.

I do encourage people to read other books by this author, I very much enjoyed some of her other books that I have read in the past.

I liked this book. The plot, heroes and theme got me interested from the beginning until the end. Million Dollar Devil is a good bedtime story but only for one time, I suppose. I liked the chemistry and interactions between heroes, James pick-up lines, his charming character and love toward a younger brother.

The synopsis put my anticipations and need for a high level. But in results, the story lacked with something for me. Although Lizzy thought of herself as strong, independent businesswoman her relations with dad got really on my nerve, and honestly, she was spoiled. She desperately needed a perfect man to satisfy him and in my eyes, James was perfect from the very first page (maybe not his dangerous and stupid way of getting money). And he agreed to help her, for a big price. Surprisingly in a few months she “created a shiny diamond”. But the world is ruthless. Will they find the courage to fight for love?

There were times I enjoyed how their relationship evolved but I didn’t like how she sometimes thought about him as someone worse than her and unworthy. And I really think she should fight for his forgiveness and heart, not vice versa…

If you are a fan of Katy Evans books I think you won’t be disappointed. I am curious enough to read the second book in the series.

Million Dollar Devil was such a great read! Once I started it, I didn't put it down. I read it in one sitting! Oh how I love Katy Evans' heroes. They are authentic and are real men. Jimmy did not disappoint. He was manly... rough, rugged, and sexy as hell! I adored the storyline and the connection between Jimmy and Lizzy. These two lit up the pages with their chemistry! I was sad when their story ended. I wanted more! That's the thing with Katy Evans... she always leaves you wanting more. I can't wait to read what she writes next!

This was a fun “Cinder-Fella” kind of read and I enjoyed the role reversal: the woman was the billionaire and the man was kind of the one needing rescuing. This one wasn’t one of my faves but there were parts I did enjoy.

This was a fun and angsty forbidden romance. Elizabeth Banks wants to prove to her father that she has what it takes to run his clothing empire. When she is running out of options to find what her father would approve of, she meets daredevil, James Rowan, in a seedy bar. He has his own successful Youtube channel that chronicles the stunts he is challenged to do. But Elizabeth offers him a challenge he can't refuse. He takes the challenge to be the perfect representative for her company with the assurance he will be able to give his brother a better life. As He and Elizabeth work to refine his appearance, their chemistry heats up as well. But what happens to them both when the truth comes out and this refined gentleman is exposed along with Elizabeth's deception? I really grew to care for Elizabeth and James, and his brother Charlie. This is a swoony and sexy, fun and flirty romance with enough angst and emotion to keep you engaged from start to finish.

I found Lizzy & James’s story to be an easy read, but I felt like it was missing something. I didn’t really find the characters and their situation to be realistic. I wanted to love these characters and their story, but sadly wasn’t able to. I do look forward to more by Katy Evans because I have loved her previous works.

I voluntarily reviewed this book.

Million Dollar Devil by Katy Evans is one of the best books you'll read this year. I was hooked from beginning to end.

I loved Lizzy and her strength. She is so fierce and doesn't back down when she can't find someone to help with her campaign for her dad's company. When she decides she'll find someone and turn them into the perfect man I was completely intrigued. Then she stumbles upon James Rowan. Oh talk about love. He is such a great man. He's loving, protective, cares so much for his brother and is determined to make Lizzy see him for the great man he is. These two have some amazing chemistry and their story will have you falling in love with them and enjoying every last-minute their together.

So if you love a great romance with a slow burn and characters that you can't help but adore then you'll love this book. I give Million Dollar Devil By Katy Evans 5 out of 5 STARS!

Jimmy Rowan’s name is synonymous with danger and excitement. Well amongst his YouTube fans anyway. He has gained a strong following by taking on dare’s for cash. His younger brother Charlie captures it all on video and they upload it to their channel following. Charlie is all he has left of his family that was taken from them in a tragic accident. Jimmy’s focus in life is to be a good role model for his brother and make sure he has a good upbringing.

When Jimmy walks into his local bar after completing yet another dare, his eye is caught up in an intense exchange with a very uptight, prissy but beautiful woman. A woman who makes an interesting case about why he needs to talk to her. She has a proposition, one that seems to good to be true.

Elizabeth Banks is being groomed to one day take over her family couture business. She has spent her entire career trying to make her father proud, to prove to him that she has what it takes. She is assigned the tough job of finding the ‘face’ of their new clothing line and after being knocked back by every well known, good looking person on her list she finds herself at a seedy bar, with her eyes set on Jimmy Rowan.

Initially Jimmy is very skeptical but the possibility of how the money being offered could change not just his life but Charlie’s too is what has him reluctantly agreeing. And the fact that he thinks Lizzy is beautiful and he plans to one day have her. Thus begins the rebirth of Jimmy to James. For the next few months he will be groomed and schooled on how to act and behave like a gentleman. No one can know where he really came from, he has the looks and charisma that Lizzy has been looking for.

‘I’ve never been come on to by a guy who tells it like it is in the way this devil does. It’s infuriatingly sexy, and it makes me want to negotiate with my body.’

Here’s the thing though, Jimmy may feel like a bit of fraud pretending to be someone he isn’t but Lizzy hasn’t come to the self realization that she too is doing the same thing with her own life. She can’t be who she wants to be because she is craving the acceptance of her dad, doing and being what he wants her to be. If she was really honest with herself she would see that she is not truly living.

‘I don’t know what it is about this guy that affects me so much. Maybe it’s because he’s daring, unique, and not afraid to be himself. Or maybe because my whole life I’ve tried to be perfect and never really bought into the act. And yet when I’m with him, I don’t feel like I have to play at anything at all. I can simply be me.’

Spending time with Jimmy is a truly humbling experience for Lizzy, he is kind, compassionate and values his family above everything else. She prejudged him the first time they met and now she is realising that he is the kind of man she could easily fall, but not one her father would ever approve of. Tell that to her heart though…

Being in Lizzy’s world initially was a bit of fun for Jimmy but the impact of being around such fake people and the glamour that comes with it has been affecting him. He has changed and it takes a confronting experience to realise that he was never meant for this world, or this girl.

This is a fun and sexy read from Katy Evans. I loved the slow burn and verbal foreplay between these two.

‘I’ve never met a human being that made me feel as alive - as perfect even with my flaws… as seen… as happy… as free - as him.’

Million Dollar Devil was a fun, sexy read. I found the hero so enchanting and likable that the heroine suffered a bit by comparison. Then I remembered Henry Higgins in My Fair Lady and how much he grew throughout the story, and Richard Gere's Edward in Pretty Woman. Then I started to look for signs of the heroine's growth. I really appreciated the wit and humor that flowed through Katy Evans' dialogue. It redeemed the characters. I ended up enjoying the journey to happily ever after, and I would read more from Ms Evans.
I received my copy through NetGalley under no obligation.

I always know when I pick up a book by Katy Evans I am not going to be disappointed. Million Dollar Devil is a fun flirty romance I couldn’t put down. I love Elizabeth and Jimmy's chemistry.

Elizabeth wants her father’s acceptance and to impress him. She is a socialite and an heiress to the family company Banks LTD. For her failure is not an option. She is given the job of finding the face for the new men’s line and is having a hard time. The perfect man is out there but it’s tuff finding him. She comes across Jimmy and he is perfect for the job once she works her magic on him.

Jimmy is rough around the edges and a daredevil. The more time they spend together the harder it is to control the chemistry between them. He makes her feel alive and she shows him the real her.

If you are looking for a flirty romance this is the book for you. Grab your copy of Million Dollar Devil!

I was so glad to hear Ms. Evans was coming out with this new series. I appreciated the fresh story line: Lizzy always trying to please her father, must find the new face for their companies new clothing line. She stumbles across Jimmy, a daredevil/ brawler from the wrong side of the tracks. Through the ups and downs I loved the transformation from Jimmy to James. The epilogue was short and left me wanting more of these two. I hope we get to catch up with them throughout the series.

Katy Evans has done it again, a new man to fall for, James ‘Jimmy’ Rowan! If I could bring a book boyfriend to life it be him. Hot, sexy, cocky, kind, tough and funny. The perfect package with dimples.

I had a hard time putting this book down. It’s the tale of the Uptown girl meets downtown man, which was a first for me, it’s normally the other way around. From the second Lizzy and James meet, I was fanning myself, the sexual tension was high! I love the banter between them. I couldn’t wait for them to finally given in.

I Love this book hard!!!! Malcom Saint just got some big competition!

Trying to prove her worth at her father's suit company, Lizzy is desperate to find the perfect model. But when opportunity presents itself in the form of Jimmie, she can't resist. Taking a YouTube daredevil and turning him into the perfect model is hard, but when the heart gets involved, it makes it even harder. I loved these two so much. Jimmie and Lizzy are the personification of opposites attracting and it's a heck of a ride when the come together. I'm excited to read more from Katy Evans.
