OMG, Ronnie and Jack are just as great as Brodie and Mary were, and we get more road trips! Ronnie was basically tossed aside by her family, and has made her own way, in her own way, dealing with things the best she can. Jack has his mom, Brodie and Charlotte, plus his issues with his dad, but his family comes first. These two seem like opposites, especially to Ronnie, but that makes everything all the better.

Ronnie also appears to have someone watching her, but who? Her father? Her sister? The kidnapper from her past? A past business associate? How will she and Jack handle this development, if there really is something going on?

Another fun book by the wonderful Lori Foster.
I really enjoyed Ronnie. She was an unusual character, unlike anyone I've seen before. And Jack was wonderful and dreamy, the perfect opposite for Ronnie.
The suspense plot felt a little weak, but overall a wonderful one-sit read.

In “Slow Ride” (Road to Love #2) by Lori Foster we are thrown back into the world of Mustang Transport. Jack Crews, unlike his brother Brodie, is refined in the way he handles himself in both appearance and attitude. That is until he meets Ronnie Ashford, who while in the same breath offers him a job and tries to convince him to turn it down. But Jack wants more than the job – he wants Ronnie. Now all he has to do in get her on board.

The characters from “Driven to Distraction” were all back as was my favorite dog, Howler – who proves once again to have the biggest heart out there.

I received ARC of this book and this is my honest review.

Slow Ride is the second book in the Road to Love series but when the author says it is a standalone, it truly is. I did read book one and “know” some of the characters and I always enjoy that. SR is about Jack Crews, brother to Brodie from book one, and he is just as bada@@, but in a bit different way. Jack is more “refined” and “calm” than Brodie, at least on the surface, but in his own way is just as gorgeous and capable as Brodie. Usually he looks the GQ part but the first time he meets Ronnie Ashford he’s in work clothes and is a mite bit grubby from working on his house. Ronnie doesn’t know he’s Jack Crews, is drooling over him, until he says his name. Annnnnnnnnnnddddd they are off! Instead of a meet-cute, they actually had a meet-hawt/oh-hale-no, imho.

I won’t recap the story because I couldn’t do it justice. It has fast action, mayhem, is sizzling hawt, and I think it is more about Ronnie and Jack and their growing relationship. Ronnie works for twins who collect…let’s call it morbid trivia. She usually handles the retrieval of the objects alone however the brothers insist that she work with a driver, who doubles as a bodyguard, and she is NOT happy about that. They really are such a great couple, and their bickering, and simmering passion is smexy. Ronnie has had a hard life in that she has issues with her family, and has had them since she was very young and on her own. Surprisingly enough, Jack has a few hidden issues to overcome as well, and these two find their “peace” together.

Now, the character I met in book one, who is also in Slow Ride, is Howler, Brodie’s rescue dog. Howler stole my heart in book one and he shines just as much in book two. He helps Ronnie on her personal journey, as he does with all the family. Jack and Ronnie are perfect together, but phew, are they combustible! I really enjoy this series and loved both books. Can’t wait to read more! I received an ARC of #Slow Ride from #NetGalley, and this is my honest review.

I really enjoyed this book. I didn't really care for Ronnie at first but she grew on me. Jack and ronnie make a really cute couple. I can't wait until Charlotte's book especially since we found out who she ends up with!

Slow ride is the second book in the series. I enjoyed catching up with the Crews family. You don't have to read the first book in the series to enjoy this book. But, I highly recommend reading both books. Lori Foster has a knack for writing a great series. From the first meeting at the bar Ronnie and Jack had instant chemistry. Ronnies tough past and stubbornness is no match for Jack's charm. From one delivery job to the next the adventures never end. Once Jack knocks down Ronnies walls she learns that mixing work and pleasure isn't a bad thing. Adding a very large but loveable dog and an adorable kitten to the mix never hurts. Once again Lori nailed it! I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy. As a big fan of Lori's I can't wait to read what happens next.

Veronica (aka Ronnie) has no desire to take on a partner for her transporting jobs. She’s capable of taking care of herself and someone else would just hinder her or get in her way. The last thing she expected was to have the hots for the guy she was hoping would decline her job offer.

Jack was such a fun character! He could be sweet, charming, tough, and protective at the spin of a page, keeping me guessing at how he would respond to Ronnie’s reactions. I liked how he took his time to build trust between them even when his libido was strongly protesting the wait. I also loved his interactions with his family, finding them all very laid back and supportive of one another.

This probably sounds weird, but I thought Ronnie was similar to Mary in the first book. Kind of a ‘me against the world’ attitude going on. When the story starts, Ronnie came off tough, with a big chip on her shoulder, and no...I didn’t really like her, but I wanted to know what made her tick! She turned out to be a funny, empathetic, protective, sweet, brash, and yes, very temperamental chick with a lot of emotional baggage. In the scheme of things, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I grew to like her.

The transporting jobs Jack and Ronnie took gave these two plenty of time for heartfelt conversations since they were stuck in a car for periods of time, yet being cooped together also flamed their attraction. The push and pull stoked the anticipation because Ronnie refused to act on it and Jack respected her space, biding his time until she felt ready. No worries, since Foster delivered blistering hot yet sweetly tender love scenes!

Overall, I liked this entry more then the first book. Jack and Ronnie had chemistry from the start and I liked how things stewed and built up between them, establishing the emotional intimacy. It made their reactions believable and had me vested in the outcome of their relationship. And I can’t forget about Howler, Brodie’s lovable rescue mutt! He was just the sweetest thing with his bottomless pit of a stomach and his mothering-hen tendencies towards Peanut!

Book two in the Road to Love series, Slow Ride can be read by itself. Brodie, Jack, and Charlotte (her story will be book three) are the connecting characters and each story/romance stands on its own.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Slow Ride was a very nice slow romance, and I really appreciated that. Both because Ronnie had been through so much she didn't believe in love anymore, and because Jack was so patient. He just knew waiting was going to be worth it!

The suspense elements worked really well, too, and I have to say my heart almost beat out of my body there for a while!

Slow Ride is book 2 in the Road to Love series and it was an enjoyable read. This is Jack Crews and Ronnie Ashford’s story. Ronnie has had a difficult life that has made her very standoffish and not trusting of anyone. We meet Jack in Brodie’s story in Driven to Distraction, he is the complete opposite of Ronnie. He is charming and down to earth. From the first meeting, the attraction was evident. Unfortunately, Ronnie was only looking for one night and not looking for more. Things get a bit more complicated when Ronnie finally finds out Jack’s name. He happens to be the person she is supposed to convince to not take the contract from her bosses. For Ronnie their night was over and the promise of an amazing night was also completely over. A confused Jack, however, sees nothing wrong with working together and also continuing on with their attraction. The next morning, Jack convinces her to give him a chance with the job, when danger surrounds Ronnie, she finally realizes she actually may need him. During each job, Jack starts to slowly break down Ronnie’s walls and they get to know each other. We learn Ronnie’s history and start to understand why she is the way she is. Ronnie starts to confide in Jack and starts to enjoy the camaraderie between the two. As to the rest of the book, the action, mystery and suspense portion definitely kept me on my toes.

To be honest, I really had a difficult time with Ronnie’s character in the beginning, I actually did not like her at all. She came across as too brash and bit on the crude side. But as we get to know her and her history, you start to understand her a bit more. And you can’t forget how she is with little Peanut. Lori Foster writes such wonderful four-legged characters!! As for Jack, he had so many facets to his personality. When Ronnie first met him, he was dressed like a construction worker, rugged and rough around the edges. The very next day he’s the polished business man, who is nauseatingly nice all the time. But once protective Jack is unleashed, watch out, he is sexy as all get out! I definitely started to enjoy the book more as Ronnie began her healing process with Jack. I loved that what Jack did for Ronnie was allowing her to finally feel.

I also really had a difficult time with my rating, I was really close to the 3 to 3.5 star mark but seeing the warmer side of Ronnie, especially with Howler and Peanut, I found it to be more of a 4-star rating.

All in all, this was enjoyable and I really am looking forward to Charlotte’s book.

I received an ARC of Slow Ride from NetGalley, and this is my honest review.

I received a free ARC of Slow Ride from Netgalley. I loved the first book in the series and was so excited for a chance to read the second book. I absolutely loved it from the moment I started reading it until I finished it. I had a hard time putting it down. This is the story of Ronnie Ashford and Jack Crews.

Ronnie has to offer Jack a job but she needs to convince him not to take it. She is in a bar and a tall handsome stranger walks in and he is all she can think about. That is until he tells her his name is Jack Crews.

Jack is attracted to Ronnie and wants to connect with her in every way. Ronnie makes it clear if Jack takes the job helping her get prized artificats there relationship will be buisness only . He has to convince her to take a chance on him and also work through her insecurities of feeling like shes never belonged anywhere. Of course there is also danger lurking around.

I loved the chemistry between Ronnie and Jack and also catching up with Mary and Brodie from the first book. It was full of action and sparks and it was amazing. I give this book 5 stars and you should really check out this book. It's a unique story with real characters.

Ronnie is a loner, badass, and has had a hard life. She picks up and delivers odd treasure to her bosses. They have decided to hire a driver for her but she plans to make sure the guy doesn’t take the job. Jack owns a transport company along with his brother. The moment he sees Ronnie in the bar, he knows he has to have her. But as they are about to leave, she finds out his name and tells him she’ll see him tomorrow for their appointment. They go on a job and Ronnie hopes it will scare Jack off but it takes more than a scary woman to make him run. When things start happening around Ronnie, she admits to needing Jack’s help. Can Jack convince Ronnie to trust him and give them a chance?
Awesome story. Sexy, mystery and funny. Cute dog and a little kitten. I absolutely fell in love with Ronnie. She’s been through a lot but can still kick butt. And Jack I just want to hug and keep him for myself. They are perfect for each other.

I have been a fan of Lori Foster for years, years and since I tend to enjoy her I automatically request her books and even if I don't get the ARC I tend to buy them because as I mentioned I am a fan, I also tend to reread them. However I wasn't crazy about this book, why you may ask because I truly truly disliked Ronnie and she ruined it for me. I get that Ronnie had some issues that made her tough but I don't find that excuse reason to be a bitch there is not need for it and I have found that in the latest book from Lori the woman are starting to be nasty and I can't do it, I like strong woman and respect them way better than a wishy washy heroine or a doormat but these new type of characters I hate them. Ronnie started off nasty from the get go and I honestly couldn't see why Jack would be attracted to her she was so nasty I stopped reading didn't want to finish the book which has never, ever happened with one of Lori's books, I made myself continue for Jack's sake and for the stories sake but I am going to have to stopped reading if we continue to get these type of main characters, I don't see the need for them and think they should have more respect in dealing with others, it is truly breaking my heart.

The second book in this series and it starts out with a bang and does not let up. You met Ronnie Ashford at the local bar just waiting until the next day when she is to meet Jack Crews from Mustang Transports. When she notices a man come walking in with paint over him and looking like he has been working construction all day. After flirting and other things they decide to leave when someone shouts his name. This puts an immediate halt to anything that was going to happen. Ronnie thought Jack Crews was always buttoned downed wearing suits, not this hot hunk of a man. Jack being a little confused realizes that his appointment in the morning for Ron is really the woman standing in front of him. He does not see a problem with continuing to the hotel and then to the meeting in the morning, for it will save time getting to know each other. Ronnie sees this as a red flag and leaves and now must come up with some type of plan for Jack to not accept the contract from her employers. She does not need help or a driver to pick up the items that they have bought anyway because she has been doing it for a while now just fine. Jack is attracted to Ronnie and must work past someone who has fort Knox wrapped around herself and will not let anyone in. The reason or reason are revealed as the story goes along and you are taken for a ride of intrigue, mystery, suspense, sex and wondering if Ronnie will let anyone into her space. Read this wonderful second book of this series to find out what happens.
