**I received a copy of Kings of Mayhem from Xpresso Book Tours and Net Galley in exchange for a voluntary and honest review. The opinions expressed below are mine alone and not solicited in any way**
Kings of Mayhem by Penny Dee is the first book in her new King of Mayhem MC series. This is the first time I've read her books and most likely won't be the last. But you did need to know that this ends in a cliffhanger but don't worry the next one Brothers in Arms is due out in February. Whew! I was worried because I just HAVE to know how the MC resolves the story! This is Cade and Indigo's story. Yes, it's filled with angst but the friendship then eventually love is awesome.
Indigo Parrish moved next door to Cade Calley and they soon become best friends. Cade will protect her with his life but when a mistake is made during the twilight of their senior year of high school, it will break them both. However when Indy comes back to Destiny, MS for her father can both Cade and Indy find their happily ever after? Or will she run from him again back to Seattle and her job as a Trauma doctor?
Cade Calley has always known that he'd eventually lead the Kings of Mayhem MC that was started by his grandfather. But when he meets Indy as a five-year-old boy little does he know that she'll become the most important girl to him. But when they make plans to leave the MC and go to college together his father will find a way to break them up leading to 12 years apart from his love. There is another MC that wants their turf but how do they do this without causing an all out war between them? When Cade and Indy are finally able to dream of a HEA will it all come crashing down due to an offer to go to refuse?
Well, I'm off to read the next book because well I just have to find out how this all gets resolved.

This is my first book by this author and I am also not a big fan of motorcyle club romances but the description of this story sounded intriguing so I read this story. I really liked it, the only thing I hated and I felt was not needed was that it ends on a cliff hanger and I was never warned about that in the description of the story. Had that not happened, I would have loved this story because I really loved Cade and Indy and their romance.
Cade and Indy were in love as kids and planned to go off to college together until Indy catches him having sex with someone else. Now 12 years later her dad is dead and she is back for the funeral. She is now a successful doctor in Seattle. But Cade wants her back and he fights for her heart.
I really enjoyed this story. I thought it was well writtend and I liked the storyline alot. I just really hated the ending. While I enjoyed it, I won't be reading the next book because I was annoyed about the cliff hanger.

The format of this book is awful, the constant back and forth into the past, it made the book so long and extra wordy, it could have been edited out and it would have made the book better. There were so many missing pieces and parts of the book that just don’t make sense. There is no way in hell that Cade would have let Indy make a scene in the bar at a party with all of the club members around and embarrassed herself, her family and him. He would have hauled her drunk ass away and made it a private conversation, like it should have been. The best part was when he fly to Seattle after her and was talking to her on the phone and was right outside her place,it was super romantic and just showed how much he loves Indy. However, there is so much of this book that is confusing or needs to be edited for consistency in story that it was hard to follow and read. This book is way to long and really needs to be condensed and the story line needs to be tightened up.

I received an arc copy of this book from NetGalley for my honest review. This a great start to a new MC series. Indigo is back home after a twelve year absence due to the death of her father. Growing up part of the MC family she’s not sure how to deal with seeing them especially her childhood best friend/ boyfriend Cade. Both have never truly recovered from the incident that caused them to split but their chemistry never died and has enough heat to burn. The story does go back and forth between old and new events, which usually I find annoying but is done so seemlessly that it seems natural. This book has some sad moments that made me cry, funny ones where I laughed out loud , a bit of mystery and a lot of heat. A definite great MC read BUT there is a bit of a cliffhanger ending, although it doesn’t seem like you’ll have to wait to long. 4.5 stars

I love a good MC book but it’s been ages since I’ve read one.
The cover caught my attention because it’s fabulous but the blurb put me off. I’m not a huge fan of second chance romances and it seemed obvious “He broke me once...” meant he cheated on her. I’m not a huge fan of cheating either so I decided to just skip this one. But then the second book Brothers in Arms caught my attention and I knew I wanted to read that which meant reading this one first.
I scanned the reviews and found one that said when all was said and done they sided with Cade over the cheating so I was good to go.
This book was a pleasant surprise. It starts when Cade and Indy are both eighteen and then moves on twelve years to the present. And this is how their story unfolds.
We see the people they are today. Who they used to be. What they could have been.
I really enjoyed this book and I’m so glad I took the chance. And yes I agree with the other reviewer I’m totally team Cade.
It’s nicely told and a nice mix of past and present. We meet the members of the MC and I’m totally in love with Cade. I mean seriously who wouldn’t be?
I’m not sure what else to say apart from I can’t wait to read the next book. This ends on a cliffhanger so hopefully I won’t have to wait long.
I voluntarily read a review copy kindly provided by NetGalley.

Wow! Great book and it's gonna be an awesome series! This is Cade and Indy book, Cade and Indy have been friends since childhood and are tied together by the kings of mayhem MC! But Cade screws up and Indy takes off running! She's forced back to town to help her mother bury her father! She definitely does not want to run into cade! In both their words Cade broke Indy! This book had everything! It has heartache , heartbreak, angst , mild drama, and 🔥🔥🔥!! I highly recommend reading this book the series is going to be awesome as well!! Thank you Netgalley and the publishers for sharing this book with me!

Childhood sweethearts who get a second chance at love, yet the road is rocky from beginning to end with Indigo Parrish and Cade Calley. When Indigo comes home for her father’s funeral, she can’t help but run into Cade constantly. Cade still wants her but Indy is having nothing of it. She has a life across the country and is determined to go back to Seattle. Cade knows he needs to convince her because he can’t lose her again.
A great new MC series you will want to read!

This book right here.... OMG kept me on my toes. I finished it in one sitting. The author had me captivated the whole time. Emotionally drained lol but love this book. Can not wait for the next one!!!

When I read the synopsis on this book it intrigued me, because I'm a hopeless romantic. This is my first time reading a book from this Author. But wow is all I can say. I really love a book that gives you rich characters, you dig into the past and you get to know the characters well. They become family to you. You are cheering for the main characters to talk to each other, get to know each other again. I can honestly say I got this book and I could not put it down.
Cade and Indy have been best friends since they were 5 years old. Didn't start dating until they were Juniors in High School. They had plans for college, then one night all the plans went to hell. Now it is 12 years later and Indy had to come home and bury her daddy. Seeing your first love all the feelings come back. She is torn between past and present. The author gives you a lot of background, and I sucked it up. Love detailed characters and plots.
Did I get my HEA, yes, but the story leaves you on a cliffhanger. I have to admit I was shocked. Look forward to the next book. Because I want to know how it is going to end.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I don’t read a lot of MC books but the blurb was interesting and I decided to give it a try. I’m glad I did so. This book was quite good and an easy read. This is a second chance romance about Cade and Indy. The two grew up together and were very close best friends. As teenagers, this close bond segued into becoming an item. For Indy, Cade represented safety, loyalty, and the man who loved her desperately. Until, one day it all ended - just like that. Indy walked in after a party at the MC clubhouse only to find her boyfriend sleeping with another woman. Even though we find out later he was drugged and set up, it did not stop the sudden ending to his relationship with Indy.
Twelve years later, Indy is working as a doctor at the other end of the country. After learning about her father’s death, she returns to her childhood home she never visited once she left. She understands she must finally confront her past inc, using Cade. Easier said that done.
This book is in alternating POVs between Cade and Indy. In addition, it alternates between the past and the present. While the author handled this quite well, I’m not at all a fan of flashback chapters. Even the very best at this style makes the whole story a bit clunky and pulls you out of the story a bit.
Overall, I was quite pleased with this book. Sometimes I thought Indy was a bit ridiculous and Cade was a bit of a surprise since he was quite alpha without veering into alphahole territory. Of note, the book ends on a bit of a cliffhanger. Four stars.

Now that was an amazing story!!
I loved all the characters the layout of the story and the way it was written.
I FREAKING LOVED ALL OF IT!!!!!
Cade: Handsome and sweet and a protector. Stuffs up a bit.
Indy: Beautiful, smart and headstrong. Has issues, doesn’t know where she belongs
The story as a whole is written beautifully I laughed, I cried and I swooned. I loved that Cade and Indy had loved each other since they were young and it felt so believable, and cute and sweet and beautiful. There are so many heartfelt moments in this book and everything is explained perfectly, the past, the present, melds sooo well!! The side characters are a hoot and a half and I cannot wait to read their stories.
Although this ends on a cliffhanger there isn’t too much left in the air other than the story will continue and its going to be bloody brilliant if this book is any indication.
All up I loved it and I cannot wait to carry on with the rest of the series and add Penny Dee to my must read authors list.

There were too many flashbacks to Cade and Indy's childhood. I would have enjoyed this book more if those would have been taken care of in a prologue or something. I hope part 2 will be better. I have to find out what happens next.

I am always willing to give a new MC series a try even though I am frequently disappointed. I actually liked this book and am willing to give the next book in the series to try to see if it truly finds its footing after all of the setup has been done. There is not a lot that is new in this story of an MC princess returning home and being forced to face the biker who broke her heart. but the writing is strong and the characters interesting. Flashbacks usually annoy me but the ones showing Cade and Indy growing up together and falling in love were largely sweet. They did go too far in the end with an unnecessary twist that made me roll my eyes. The author wanted to make Cade a little too perfect I suppose. Still I am intrigued enough to want to know what happens next.

Falling for the girl next door is never easy especially when a dire mistake changes the lives of Indigo and Cade forever. The opening sequence left me on the edge of my seat. It was an unexpected surprise that helped showcase the close, heartwarming relationship between the two childhood friends turned lovers. The narrative alternative between the heroine and hero from past to present, and was a great way to present how and when they fell in love, and most importantly, how it all fell apart. The overall premise is about second chances and learning to forgive.
The story follows the main heroine journey back home. With the sudden passing of Indigo estranged father, she finds herself back home in Mississippi for his funeral after running away from all whom she loved: family, friends and Cale. Lingering feelings, accidental touches and misunderstandings push and pulled the hero and heroine together. Knowing their days together are numbered, Cale is doing everything in his power to gain her forgiveness and despite the twelve long years of silence, she has always been his endgame. It has always been her. Only her. And he's ready to show that to her.
The general flow and pace of the story was ideal, the characters were likeable and nothing seemed forced. There is definitely more to the story than meets the eye and the only negative I can point out is that I really had wished the writer would have explained the reason behind Cale's father actions and why he caused the rifted between the main characters. Maybe he was just being a dick which is a trend I've noticed from a lot of the older secondary characters in the story minus grandma because she's badass or is there an actually reason behind everything? Maybe I'm just looking way too much into it!
Overall, with this being the first Penny Dee novel and book one of the “Kings of Mayhem” series I've read, I am highly impressed. I look forward to reading more of her works and the upcoming sequel of this fantastic book! Additional to that, the novel ended in a high note with an unexpected cliffhanger and I can't wait to read what happens next!

I love this type of book. Was a great MC story with great characters. Lots of chemistry between Indy and Cade. Very hot and steamy.
The only thing that kind of bothered me is that this story kind of reminds me of Sons of Anarchy. It’s not an exact replica of Sons of Anarchy, but some similarities. And it ends in a cliffhanger. Definitely would recommend this book.

ARC received from NetGalley in exchange for a review. All of my opinions are my own, and are in no way affected by the exchange.
TW: child molestation flashbacks, spousal abuse, mentions of prostitution/prostitution business, death of a sibling, death of a parent, alcoholism, cheating, violence, blood/murder
Wow. This book was.... not good. If you have ever watched Sons of Anarchy, then you essentially have read this book. It feels almost like a verbatim rip off of that show.
Besides this book being a bad rip off of SoA, I could not stand the writing style. It was extremely basic. Some of the lines in the book were so bad that I physically hurt my eyeballs from rolling them so hard. One passage that got me, essentially said "I Am Big Strong Man and Because I Am Strong Man, I Must Eat Everything." I wish I was kidding about the way I wrote that either. That's pretty much what the writing style is throughout this entire book.
There is also some talk in here about how the club makes its money and they legit say that they make "legitimate" money by having a brothel/prostitution ring. I'm pretty sure that is illegal sir.
The only thing that saved this book for me was the flashback scenes from Cade and Indy's childhood. They have been neighbors and friends since they were 5 and seeing snippets of their relationship with each other grow and change was really cute. I liked the dual points of view because it allowed the reader to see what they were feeling during their childhood.
TW: Child molestation (spoilers)
There is one scene in a flashback that depicts an attempted attack Indy at age 7. She was not physically harmed but it does go into detail about her fear and the man did touch her. Parents are alerted and they do get there in time. I was completely not expecting that and was taken off guard. I wanted to point this out because it can be pretty triggering for some.

***4.5 ‘You Can Kiss Me As Much As You Like’ Stars***
That was NOT how I thought this book was going to end. And now I need the next one...like...yesterday?!?!
I mean seriously...WTF?!?
But…*deep breath in...slow breath out*...the review.
I’m always a little hesitant when I decide to dive into an MC romance because my track record with them is a 50/50 split on ones I’ve loved and ones that just haven’t worked out for me for one reason or another and this one was no different. But the cover reeled me in and the blurb peaked my interest and, with the exception of that ending, I really enjoyed this one. It was sweet, swoon worthy, eye roll inducing, smexy and filled with some really well written characters and that family feel that makes me want to hang out and get to know them a whole lot better.
I kinda fell in love with Cade. I mean it was hard not to fall in love with him. He’s got the alpha AF biker thing going on, but there’s this sweetness to him that just pulls you in. He’s a good man who loves his family and will protect them no matter what. Indy...I gotta be honest. She and I had a rough go of it, this isn’t to say that I didn’t like her because I did and I understood why she felt the things that she did, but...she tried me. She really did, but in the end I can honestly say that I really liked her and loved seeing her fiery personality finally come out.
Cade and Indy’s journey was all kinds of angsty/swoony goodness. It sounds a little strange, but they had even amounts of both of those and though there were things that drove me batshit crazy, it only showed that they belonged together. Their connection, their chemistry, was intense and the need to see them work things out and put the past behind them was strong. Now, in a situation where cheating is involved I do typically side with the party who had been cheated on, but in this case, after everything was exposed I was, and am, absolutely #TeamCade. No questions asked.
This is my first read by the author and I was hooked from the start. The writing was engaging, pacing was good and I really enjoyed the dual first person POV’s. I also really enjoy how she showed us just how deep the connection between Cade and Indy ran, it was well thought out and executed. The MC aspect was done well, it’s not as dark as some, but it’s still gritty and that family feel is definitely there. As for the supporting cast of characters. There are a lot of people I want more of. Each one we meet is well written and unique, though Sybil is my favorite of the bunch, she rocks! And as for that ending. Again, didn’t see that coming, but I NEED to know how it all works out, so bring on Brothers in Arms!
