Harlequin romance manga comics are like my romance catnip. Gorgeous illustrations. Romantic stories. Just all around beautiful. And quite often, the comics make me want to go back and read the books too. I think for me, the comics serve a purpose of illustrating a beautiful story and bringing it to life with wonderful illustrations. It's also a teaser and taste of the story it often makes me want to take in the original story for more depth and detail. Between the book and the manga comic, they are a winning combination. And yes, I know, my review of the manga comics are often the same but it's mostly the case because they often get the same reaction from me. Thank you for this wonderful medium in delivering romance to a dedicated reader.

I absolutely loved this!!! The romance between Stravos and Jessica was outstanding. They didn't rush things but the attraction was their from the start. They were both amazing together. I hated how Jessica saw herself and her painful past. I adored how Stravos was all about Jessica and making her feel loved. Great read.

A suave prince indeed! I adore the fact that the heroine stood her ground no matter how hard the Hero tries to seduce her. Sure, she caved in eventually, but still, I always enjoyed reading a smart heroine who put up a good fight. The Hero's also quite gentle for a prince that I usually read in romance novels. He's not cold or ruthless and it's refreshing. The illustration is also very beautiful!
Can't wait to read more from this author and illustrator!

Like any other romances with matchmakers, the client always falls for the matchmaker instead of the matches. Jessica is hired by the prince of Kyonos, Stavros. Stavros falls for Jessica, however, she doesn't meet an important requirement, the ability to have children. Stavros feels like he has to sacrifice his happiness in order to serve his country, and Jessica believes that she is not fit to be queen.
I liked the plot and the drama.

I received this manga from Netgalley in exchange of an honest review.

I just have to say I am loving that cover. I love the roses and the details on the clothes. Then there is the blurb, and oh my. A prince who needs a bride, but then falls in love with the matchmaker (and she with him). Eeeeeeeeeeeeeep.

Um... "Prince Stavros... why are you cutting it off at age twenty-eight?" "Because I want kids. Three, ideally." Um, women 28+ can still get kids you know. :P

Oh, and hilariously, on the cover our girl has green eyes, yet on the colour pages she has blue eyes. Mmmmmmm. Curious.

I had a laugh at the idea of the prince. He wasn't that happy with the matchmaking, sure, he wanted the girls, but he just wanted to go on dates and not just a few minutes here and there of conversations. And I totally agree. I loved his idea though: "What if we just put up posters around the country? A castle, tiara, title and a small island! All this can be yours if you marry the prince."

Aww, he wants to get to know her! Ship ship shippppp! Can I say I much like this Jessica more than her stiff and business-like matchmaker self. Of course, she has to be professional, but what is wearing here is still pretty fancy. Also she keeps wearing some gorgeous dresses throughout the manga, I just wanted to step in and ask her wear she bought them so I could get them as well!

*sniffles*Aww, that part made me sad. So she can't have children due to what happened to her in the past. Poor girl. :( I can imagine that the prince may not like that if he does fall in love, but I am also optimistic he can get over it. There is always the option to adopt a tiny human.

*snickers* Haha, he now has no interest in the girls Jessica picked because she is so sexy to him (he likes her legs). And they are getting closer and closer, I just wonder who will make the first move. They are so adorable together and I am rooting for them to get together. They would make quite the pair. Whoooooooop, he makes the first move! Yes! As I was already hoping. *swoons*

I am sorry, but her face during the reveal of what was going on with her. I laughed. Because it looked so out of place. More like a horror instead of a confession in a romance manga.

OMG, he researched. For her! Awwww. *swoons some more* And he is so sweet with his thoughts. He is pissed at Jessica's ex husband, and he wants to make her happy without hurting her. OMG. *sniffs*

Oh my! Drama and more sadness. Run after her boy! Do it!

I am not crying, I have something in my eye. That was a beautiful and heartbreakingly gorgeous ending. Wow.

"Oh, Stavros... I always thought there was something wrong with me."
"There is nothing wrong with you. You were made for me. That's why we found each other." *cries*

Well, this was just perfect. I loved EVERY bit of it. The art was fabulous (OK, maybe a bit awkward at points). OMG, this was just amazing. Highly recommended.

This was a cute little story and I love that it's manga! Romance and manga, two of my favorite things.

The trope of the professional matchmaker who falls in love with the client who hired her is an old one, but this manga explores it with a new twist. The heroine comes from a devastating divorce after she suffered a surgery that would prevent her from ever having children, is still traumatized at the idea of sex because intercourse caused her pain (which ultimately led her to the life-changing surgery) and has an unusual taste for 1940's fashion. The prince who hires her for her matchmaking skills is looking for a child bearing bride to ensure the future of his dinasty, how can he ever pursue the idea of marriage to a barren woman? Though I've seen more appealing art, the story is deeply emotional and I've enjoyed reading this title.

I received an Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) from NetGalley and Harlequin/SB Creative as the publisher in exchange for an honest review

Book title : At His Majesty's Request: a Harlequin Manga

Author : Maisey Yates;  Illustrator : Masami Shinohara

Release Date : 20 January 2019

Jessica should find a bride for Stavros, the prince of Kyonos. The requirement was simple: the prince wanted a bride who could bear children for him. Ah, the prince also gave Jessica the list of women she should be invited in the wedding of her sister. They later started to fall for each other. The chemistry was so real there. The prince fell for Jessica and wanted to marry her. Unfortunately, Jessica left him for a personal reason: she was a divorcee and she could not bear any children alias barren. Would the prince still love him knowing those matters? Would Jessica and the prince end up as a couple in the end of the story?

I am not going to spoil the rest of the story here. It is a surprise that one should read and find out. What I can say is that the attraction between our hero and heroine was so strong. Jessica loves the prince and she wants the best for him including the chance to have baby. The prince loves Jessica and he tries to break every barrier in their relationship. I really love the conflict portrayed in the manga-style. It is just a perfect reading to sweeten one’s life.

I have to admit that I loved the vintage dresses and I'm pretty sure that this 'kingdom in Greece' is Mykonos but with the island's letters reversed! LOL

I'm a sucker for harelequin manga. I liked this one a lot, I like the main female's style and spunk. I also liked how ot featured a woman who is infertile. You dont see a lot of that in romance books. I like the romance also and the Prince's sense of duty and wanting to improve his country. I would recomend this book for anyone who enjoys Harelequin manga.

Four years after her divorce Jessica find herself running a successful dating agency but she is dealing with her toughest client yet. He is Prince Stavros of Kyonos and he wants a wife who will have his children.

Stavros is hard work. He has very high expectations of the woman he will marry. He asks Jessica to check their fertility and he wants to have sex with all the candidates before choosing. Jessica starts to lay down the law and she refuses to allow the prince to 'test drive candidates'. What she doesn't know is that the Prince isn't really interested in any of the candidates but he is interested in Jessica.

Jessica tries her best to keep the prince on track. She is attracted to the prince, but she tries to ignore her attraction because she has secrets and a painful past and she doesn't wish to open herself to heartbreak ever again, but love will have its way and the suitable match for the prince may end up being the most unsuitable candidate.

This was a lovely romance. The Prince was actually determined to do the right thing from the beginning and he comes across as a nice determined man. Jessica was pretty tough, self aware and determined to live life on her terms so it was refreshing to read a romance about a couple who were honest about their lives and their feelings right from the beginning.
