Such a sweet story. Alesha has been traumatized by her ex husband and her father makes her marry another man to pay his debts. It was a bit rushed but I liked the storyline.

Once again, I want to say what a delight it is to lose myself in the beautiful illustrations of these romance manga comics. I love how the illustrations bring the characters to life and tells me a story. And I love that sometimes these stories leave me wanting more and I looking for the original book to read. That has happened quite a few times to me.

Book Review
Title: The Andreou Marriage Arrangement
Author: Earithen
Genre: Manga
Rating: *****
Review: The opening to the Andreou Marriage Arrangement introduces us to Alesha who in order to pay back her father’s debt must marry the famous shipping magnate Loukas. Despite knowing how handsome and successful Loukas is Alesha doesn’t want to marry him or any man because of a dark secret she hides in her past, but she doesn’t have a choice in the matter at all, but she has some conditions of her own which the pair negotiate on and finally come to an agreement.
In the early stages of their marriage Loukas knows something is wrong in Alesha’s past but not even he has the connections to find out what it is and has to ask Alesha directly although she refuses to tell him for a long time as they grow closer as friends Alesha finds herself becoming attracted to him even after she swears never to fall in love or marry again after divorcing her ex-husband.
In the end, we learn that Alesha’s first husband was abusive and left her with lasting physical and emotional scars that have refused to heal until she meets Loukas and he makes her feel something that she has never felt before. The ending of the Andreou Marriage Arrangement was beautiful and despite Alesha’s dark past she is able to move forward and learn to love again with Loukas’ love and support and I’d highly recommend this manga as it has a heart-warming and hopeful message at its core.

Very short Manga story.
Nice drawings, but it lacked character development and it was a forced relationship which ended with insta-love after 5 pages.

Intense storyline but feels slightly hurried. Loukas's personality needed to be established a little more.

Cute and passionate. The drawings are very romantic, large and beautifying.

I got lost a little bit at first as to the order of the pictures to follow, though there's a visual guide that helps before the start.

I liked the redeeming story for the strong but traumatized heiress and the handsome, aloof tycoon who is so understanding towards her. The man is imposing, yet kind, and he exhibits enough lust to add an edge to his gentlemanly ways. I liked the old feel of the story mixed with so much modern luxury.

I might try another manga like this one as the graphics are very compelling and the romantic feel appeals to me.

The second of my batch of Harlequin Manga. I loved the cover of this one, though I was a bit worried about certain things in the blurb, namely the sex that felt like rape (and sorry, going by the first page it was pretty much rape) and the abuse the girl suffered. I was hoping that Loukas was kinder, and would understand her. Then again, since he kind of bought her... maybe not. But we will see.

So, uncomfortable first page. Yay.... And then there is the forced marriage. Wow, dad, classy. I can slightly understand that he may have been worried, but to just put it in the will, and even put the groom in it? A bit too far for my tastes.

Their first conversation, or well, first conversation regarding this whole marriage business. I felt sorry for our girl. I mean the guy has some intel on her, knows all the deets on her love life, and is also telling her that if she isn't married she will pretty much be poorer than poor. :| Though I have to say, I did like the guy. From what I could see he tried to bring it as gently as possible, and also told her that she wasn't the only one whose parents were pushing to marriage.
Good for our girl to immediately set some ground rules, I guess our guy didn't expect that as so many girls just flock to him (Gee, that seems to become a pretty standard Harlequin trope).
"Even if we rush into this, it's only a matter of time. Alesha, even you.. will worship me soon." Creepy, but sadly true. This is Harlequin. I can already predict they will fall madly in love and then marry for real. Terrible, I know. And is it bad that I am looking forward to that? Eh.

Dang, that house of his is awesome. It even has a pool, inside the house! OMG. And there is pool outside! OMG. Sorry, I love pools, and wish I could have one.

Ohhh, my like for this guy is upping. He notices that his bride is acting afraid when he comes near her, notices bruises/scars, and he decides to find out all he can about it. *nods* I approve. Sure, he could talk to her, but I am sure he is going to do that. Soon. Hopefully.
Oh, and it is down again. Dude, you have seen her react to you, all frightened, all scared, she is bruised and battered. She is feeling sick. And what do you do? Force yourself on her? Until she just hits you and screams? Wow. Dick. And wow, he does it several times after that. What the fuck is wrong with this guy? Though I have to say that it just feels like the author felt the need to add this, as we can clearly see that our guy is trying so hard to be there for Alesha, taking care of her, talking to her, hugging her when she needs it. It feels like the author had to add this stupid drama to make sure Alesha would break down. :| Later on again, he forces himself on her. And also sorry, but that Ilea stuff? That was hugging? I am sorry, but maybe you need to know what HUGGING means.. :| Seriously author, what the hell? And then they have sex, and everything is OK? What the hell? So unrealistic, so weird, so added for the heck of it because the ending is nearing.

I am crying at the scenes were we see Alesha completely break down due to her remembering the things Seth did. She dreams of them. I was horrified. Seth did things to her that are just disgusting. Forcing her to have sex, hitting her, pulling her hair, throwing things at her. Dang.... :(

Um, what they did to Seth? Dang. Don't mess with Loukas. o.0

The ending was OK, I guess? This story was a mess, a terrible terrible mess. What a shame, it had so much potential. I was curious to see how Alesha would trust Loukas, but it was done way too fast for me, and it felt rushed and hurried. Loukas was written as a dick for the sake of it, because we can all see he is very kind and friendly for most of the book.

The art was pretty OK. Loukas was very sexy. Though what is up with Alesha's eyes?

So sadly, I cannot rate this one very high. I was happy with the realistic parts, but how it was written was just not OK.

This was my first Harlequin manga and will probably be my last.

The story is too short.

It lacks character building.

It lacks depth in the story.

It lacks everything.

Too short to the point that when I flipped for the next page, it was actually the last.

Not satisfied at all. Still, thank you for the experience.

Book title : The Andreou Marriage Arrangement: a Harlequin Manga

Author : Helen Bianchin; Illustrator : Earithen

Release Date : 28 May 2014

Loukas Andreo is a head of the Athens Branch of The Andreou Corp, a shipping company magnate, and a thirty-six-yo-sexy-hunk.  He was the man Alesha should marry in order to pay back he father's debts. Loukas was crazy over Alesha. All he wanted was just to possess her and dragged her to bed. Yet every time they were about having a jiggy-jiggy time, Alesha turned into an ice doll and her face was pale. She had a traumatic experience with her ex husband, Seth Armitage who abused her physically and sexually. Loukas later tried his best to win Alesha...will he succeed?

I am not going to spoil the rest of the story here. It is a surprise that one should read and find out. What I can say is that the plot of the story is evoking and the end of the story is emotionally touching. The conflict is portrayed and illustrated beautifully as the artist is able to captured it and put it into the manga-style. It is just a perfect reading to sweeten one’s life.

This was a super fast read. I’d read Manga before just not romance. I think overall, it was a good story; however, now I want to read the original so I can get more of Alesha and her millionaire beau. Anyone looking for a quick read and something different should try this.

Sometimes Harlequin mangas can come across as a bit fluffy and unrealistic but this book certainly wasn't It is a hard hitting realistic romance that tackles a hard hitting issue in a way that is quite refreshing, but still manages to be uncompromising and with sensitivity and compassion.

Alesha is not at all happy when she realises that her decesed father's company is in debt. She is even more unhappy when the person who is owed the money suggests that she marry him as a way of repaying the debt.

Loukas is a famous business man and he wants a wife. He feels that Alesha would be ideal. She is a hard working, beautiful and professional business woman. Loukas is rather surprised when Alesha agrees to his proposal subject to her own terms and conditions.

What Loukas doesn't know is that Alesha is taking steps to protect herself. She thinks this deal will benefit her and her father's business but she wants to keep some distance between herself and Loukas. It will be a marriage in name only.

Loukas agrees but as time goes on he realises that all is not right with Alesha. Outside she is a professional and consummate business woman but behind this facade is a very hurt woman who is still recovering from a previous marriage which ended in divorce.

Alesha has to learn to trust again because both her and Loukas begin to see that this could actually be a perfect match. Trust needs to be built and Alesha needs to come to terms with her past before she can love and trust again and move forward. Loukas is there to help her with this.

This is a lovely story told through some excellent artwork which conveys the pain of the past and balances this with the love that is to be found in the present.

At first, I thought it will be just normal romance with fake motives but I got something more! A character (Alesha) that was so full-blooded beside one moment - thus 4 stars not 5. She's out of abusive marriage and she's trying to survive. And the will of her father makes her marry another man.
What will come from her own decisions? Will that be a real marriage? Will they sort it out?

Alesha comes from an abusive marriage that left her scarred in body and mind. Fearing she would be left alone, her dying father arranges his will so that Alesha is forced to marry Loukas to keep her shares. It starts as a marriage of convenience, but Alesha's fears and nightmares move Loukas closer to his bride.

A tale of an abuse survivor that eventually finds the one to heal her wounds and give her the love and attention she deserves.
