Honestly, don't remember much from this. I didn't care much for the romance. It was an okay. I would try re-reading this again.

This was pretty much instalove for Addison but no so much with Jake. He thought that Addison had taken advantage of an old man. He was very aloof at the beginning but he softens to her eventually. I liked it very much

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book provided by NetGalley.

Once again, I want to say what a delight it is to lose myself in the beautiful illustrations of these romance manga comics. I love how the illustrations bring the characters to life and tells me a story. And I love that sometimes these stories leave me wanting more and I looking for the original book to read. That has happened quite a few times to me.

Title: The Dangerous Jacob Wilde
Author: Sachiko Shirai
Genre: Manga
Rating: *****
Review: The opening of The Dangerous Jacob Wilde introduces us to Addison who inherited a Texas ranch from her mentor and boss Charlie. Addison is already familiar with the Wilde siblings as Caleb was Charlie’s attorney and Travis is a financial advisor, they have worked with in the past but the third mysterious brother; Jake hasn’t been introduced yet.
When Addison first sets eyes on Jake she is immediately attracted to him, but he assumes Charlie left the ranch to her because she was his mistress or lover which is completely wrong, and Addison isn’t shy about letting him know that. After rocky start the pair quickly develop a romantic relationship but it is clear that Jake is suffering with PTSD that includes flashback and dreams that cause his behaviour to be erratic and sometimes boarding on violent.
Scared he is going to hurt Addison with his behaviour Jake decides it is better to break things off and time passes and while Addison can’t forget him, she doesn’t really hear from him. It is only when the Wilde siblings father arrives on the scene that the others learn where Jake has been and what he has been doing. When they learn that he bought the ranch that Addison has sold, the pair are brought back together. Jake has obviously starting dealing with his issues and is ready to have a relationship, and in the whole time Addison has never forgotten him or her love for him and the pair quickly pick up where they left off. The Dangerous Jacob Wilde is one of my favourite Harlequin Mangas by far and I highly recommend you read it.

The Dangerous Jacob Wilde is the first manga in The Wilde Brothers series and tells the story of Addison and Jacob.

I really loved the story and the characters and I cannot wait to read the original book(s) and the other manga in this series. I think that Harlequin is doing an amazing job with these manga!

Tick tock, time is closing for my Harlequin Manga party! We are nearing the end. After this one I got one more to go and then it is over. Not sure I will ever do another big batch like this, but who knows. Maybe I will get tempted!

Another ranch inheritance, another girl accused of being a whore/tramp. I wasn't that eager to start this one, so that is why it took me so long, but I cannot hide any longer. Here we go!

I quite loved that her mentor and friend, Charlie, gave Addison the ranch. That is so sweet, though yes, I can imagine that people may look strangely at her for getting it and may even judge her for it. A young woman getting a whole ranch from a rich guy? Especially in Harlequin world you are judged very harsh for it. Which we see happening in this one as Jacob's instant impression is that she is a mistress/seducer. Come on, give the girl a chance!
Thankfully, she is a girl with balls and doesn't let him say that crap to her face. Plus, I am glad that the other brothers told their brother what was going on. His reaction was good, though that last part had me snorting and I probably looked the same way as his brothers did. And dang, I guess that means the whole tramp thing is now over? At page 25 of 128? Nice. I can live with that. I was already worried that crap would run the whole story and ruin everything.

Wow, the mangaka really captured the sadness and despair in Jacob's eyes. I love it.

Um, that guy needs to learn tact. You just don't stalk a woman back to her home in the DARK, and then touch her, hold her against the door and kiss her. NO. Just NO. Especially when the girl is clearly saying no.
*sighs*But this is Harlequin and apparently getting shoved against the door by some total stranger who just hurt and startled you is a turn-on and you may guess how it all ends. *sighs*

I did think things were going a bit too fast. But on the other hand I also couldn't help shipping these guys, Jacob was quite adorable when he wasn't judging (I loved his look when he dreamed about those fried cheese dogs).

"Eat as much as you want... we can just work it off later."
"Jake.. we don't have to wait until after we eat."

I can understand both the brothers and also Jake. They care for him, as did the general, they worry. On the other hand, Jake just lost an eye and he can do most of the things with ease (though it does seem like there is quite a bit of trauma that he still needs to talk about/deal with). I can imagine it is quite restricting to get back home and feel like you are being coddled.
I wasn't sure how I felt when he talked to those army guys in that store. I can understand why he got angry, and I am sure they also understand it, but I wish he could have been a bit kinder towards them. They are just honoured to meet you. They just want to talk and say hi. If you don't want that let it know in a kind fashion.

I am glad that Addison's past and how she felt about Charlie, as a father, is talked about. I was already thinking she thought of him as a father so I am happy to see it confirmed.

*cries* He shows her his scar (on his eye and yes it wasn't what I expected, dang poor guy), and he says this: "This is me. It's hideous, right?" Addison just shakes her head and kisses and embraces him and tells him this: "You're very handsome. Thank you... for showing me." And he also proceeds to tell her the story. I am glad he finally trusted her enough. Yes, it is a bit fast, but everyone moves in their own way. So I am just glad that he told her. That says a lot about their fast growing relationship.

Aww, shucks, this manga makes me cry. We find out more about Addison as well, and I was already crying for Jake and now I am crying for her as well. :(

Urggghhhh, Harlequin writers can we please stop with the unnecessary drama? This was totally not needed. And then we just skip to 6 months later? *flips a table* Of course, I know I know, it will all end well. Harlequin's always end on a happy note.

And here we go! Tears are streaming from my eyes when I saw that Jake was there... waiting for her. Hoping he would catch her. He spend so long searching for her. Awwwwwwwwwwww. *cries some more tears* This ending was beautiful!

With the exception of a few parts here and there, I loved this story. I couldn't help but root for these two characters. They fitted together so well, and they both helped each other out.

The art was just gorgeous. I love how the characters were drawn.

All in all, recommended!

Book title : The Dangerous Jacob Wilde: a Harlequin Manga

Author : Sandra Marton;  Illustrator : Sachiko Shirai

Release Date : 3 October 2017

Addison is a work addict who does not have a pleasant past. She always tries to get herself busy. One day, she inherited a large ranch in Texas from her boss Charlie when he passed away. As one of the Wilde brothers worked as Charlie's lawyer, he insisted that she needed a help from Jacob Wilde, yeah...another Wilde- the youngest one.

Jacob Wilde was a good looking guy, a very charming one. He used to be a soldier and was wounded in the battle, leaving one of his eyes injured and bitter. One thing should be highlighted: Jacob Wilde is stubborn and strong hearted!

The attraction between our hero and heroine was so strong. They tried to resist from each other. I really love the conflict portrayed in the manga-style. It evokes readers' emotion as one can really see the bitterness in Jacob and the love-starved and loneliness that Addison faced. What I love the most is the illustration! The emotion is portrayed strongly and the expressions portrayed there seem so real.

While the beginning of the book felt a little cliche, the progress of the story with the characters struggles, Jacob's PTSD and Addison's need for family, made this manga enjoyable.

This is the first manga romance in the Wilde brothers series. This story focuses on Jacob Wilde who is an army veteran. Jacob has been seriously injured in the course of duty and has returned to Texas and his brothers.

Addison has overcome the hurts of the past from a difficult childhood, and managed to become successful in New York. She is surprised when her boss dies and leaves her a ranch in Texas. Addison decides that the best way forward would be to sell the ranch, but first of all she decides to check it out and it is there but she bumps into Jacob Wilde.

When Jacob up and Addison meet, their meeting is explosive and so is the attraction between them. After one night stand a relationship springs up between them overnight, but the deep attraction for each other masks the fact that both of them are having to deal with hurts and difficulties from the past and it is these difficulties that will place pressures on their relationship.

But is their attraction and love for each other enough to sustain them and can it help them overcome the darkness from their pasts?

I thought this was a good story with great artwork as usual. I really enjoyed the three brothers and their interactions with each other. It has made me eager to read the other two books in this series. I also liked the fact that Addison could hold her ground.

As with all the other manga romances this is very entertaining even though it is not one of my favorites. A very enjoyable romance.

This romance got me so much I had to read it again straight away after the first read. The hero's anguish over his PTSD and his fear that he might do harm to the only woman who has managed to get him out of his self-inflicted shell are heart-breaking, especially since it is plain for all to see how their relationship goes far beyond an immediate attraction, it's the stuff dreams are made of...

Follow Jake's path to new life... and to Addison's heart. One of the most touching contemporary manga romances I've read.

I enjoyed this one! The storyline's basically the classic HQ Romance, which I adore, but the illustrations are the one that caught my interest. It's super smooth!
Jacob's our classic cold and aloof Hero and Addison, on the other hand, is a one hella feisty heroine! I like her attitude so much! Can't wait to read more from this author!
