When I requested this novel I was into the ideal of reading a novella but shorty after reading the first chapter, I have lost interest in the concept. I believe that it would benefit your book more if I did not skim your book and write a rushed review. Again, I am sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for taking the time to provide me an ARC of this novel.

Firstly, I would like to thank Rachel Gilbey for organising this brilliant blog tour. I was looking for something a little different to read from what I had previously read when I saw Wicked Games. This book is many genres in one book which I think is great. I enjoyed this read.
We have a array of characters, which can be off putting, however the way that Jo writes creates a perfect plot and one where you can follow every characters story. There is also an intro to the characters. The plot is one I found very interesting with several stories intermingled to create an in-depth over all story. We have elements of family drama, romance a little thriller, this story has it all.
Jo Lambert's writing is lovely, I felt like I was on set of a movie and right there in all the drama. The settings just fall from the pages to enveloping you. I will defiantly be seeking more books from Jo.

I agree that this book felt like a soap opera. It's like if Jane Austen and Downtown Abbey teamed up for a modern mystery with glamorous people behaving badly. It's entertaining for sure. The characters are likeable and evil and everything else you can imagine they might be. It's somewhat cliche, but it's a good time. If you want to read a soap opera, this is a good choice. Thanks to NetGalley for an arc in exchange for an honest review.

Such a compelling story full of romance, drama, mischief, and deceit!

This book reminded me of the much loved soap operas of my youth! General Hospital, One Life to Live, All My Children, anyone? A big cast of characters, the diva, the sweet girl next-door, the player, the devious bitch, the bad boy, I think you get the idea! And if you are not a fan of a book with a lot of characters, no need to worry there is a list of characters in the beginning to help you out, a little bit of a cheat sheet!

I’m not going to go into the plot of this book, shoot even the blurb can be overwhelming, just know that it is much less complicated than it appears... there are a couple romances in this book that are very manufactured and manipulated... there really are quite a few characters you will love to hate! In addition to the romance there is also all kinds of drama, talk about some dysfunctional families! And of course as in all good soap operas there is glamour and money and business dealings.... really just a lot of fun, and it makes you realize your somewhat ordinary life is perfectly fine!

A perfect escape for those of you who love the love, adore the drama, and live for the glamour! Recommend!

*** many thanks to the publisher for my copy of this book ***

Many moons ago, when I was about 16-21, my best friend and I used to love reading Jackie Collins novels.  We'd sit for hours and read them on holidays or outside in the garden and then we'd discuss and swap books.  For some reason I stopped reading Jackie Collins novels (bear with me...) and moved onto different genres but I have such happy memories of them.

Wicked Game brought back those memories!

Set in England and packed full of wealthy, glamourous characters I have struggled to classify this book into a particular genre.  It's a romance, family drama, saga, mild thriller all rolled into one and has a big and lively cast of  likable and totally despicable characters.  In short, we have the girl next door, the handsome hunk, the bad boy, the jealous one, the devious bitch and the innocent one.  At first I was a bit wary of the sheer volume of main characters in the book when I read the introduction.  Ms Lambert had included an overview of who is who.  I was worrying for nothing though as I found the storyline easy-going and the characters fell into place naturally.

Several storylines held my interest throughout this book and I enjoyed the mix of thriller, romance and was desperate to see where each character's story led.  I was reminded of Jackie Collins's novels as often the story telling would move around the lives of various characters, usually accumulating in a cross over of loves, lives and tragedy before the ending.

The only thing that left me frustrated was the amount of times people fell for the villain's lies, despite the fact that she'd been caught previously.

I recommend this book to fans of Jackie Collins and Danielle Steel and glamourous romance novels.  It's a great, easy-going read with likable characters, and manysub plots to hold your interest.
