Always enjoy Katie Reus. This was the next book in a series, while I’ve really enjoyed the series , this was not my favorite. For some reason I didn’t feel as connected to or captured by Leighton and Lucy as I have in the other Redemption Harbor books. I’d still recommend it and will certainly keep reading all of Katie Reus work

This is book 6 of the Redemption Harbor series by Katie Reus. While I enjoyed this book, I think I would have enjoyed it more had I read books 1-5. That being said, the characters development was very good, you felt that you knew them and could get into the interaction Leighton and Lucy. The other characters that were in previous books sounded like someone you would want to know, and I will probably go back and read the series from the first. Leightton and Lucy come together because of her connection to her uncle. Is she involved with the uncle's criminal activity? That's just one of the things Leighton is trying to find out. What happens? The only way to find out is to read the book.

The action and suspense never stops in "Covert Games", a Redemption Harbor book. Leighton Cannon gets his story dealing with human trafficking through the casino/hotel Luciana Carreras mangages. Although unknown to Luciana, her uncle runs an empire of corruption, and she will find herself expendable if she gets in the way. The action is fast paced with page turning suspense, as the Redemption Harbor crew works to save the women and stop the corruption. A budding romance between Leighton and Luciana will blossom as Leighton works to save Lucy as well as the women being moved for sale. Although 6th book in the series, each is a standalone read. *I received a copy of "Covert Games" from NetGalley and KR Press,LLC". My review and opinions are my own, with no compensation given.*

I love this series more with each new book. I really enjoyed the premise of using the villains niece to take him down. This book has everything you need in a great read. It has a unique storyline, not so perfect good guys, despicable villains all entwined in a noble mission. I did find a couple of things a little predictable but I don't think they took away from the story at all. Overall,I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it.

Leighton and Luciana are hot enough to melt your kindle.

We leave redemption Harbor for New Orleans as Leighton goes on the hunt for Kuznetsov. They have a lead in the shape of his niece. She appears outwardly on the up and up but can someone that close to the heart of the beast really be that innocent?

Luciana, Lucy to her friends, enjoys her job managing a hotel for her uncle. He took her in after her parents died and he and her cousin are the only family she has left. But when she becomes aware of a sex ring working within her hotel, she is no longer sure who to trust. Especially when she realises that Leighton has been lying to her.

Lucy and Leighton are seriously hot together. I loved the way Lucy kinda rolled with the punches, even in the face of a traitor she did not see coming! Her protectiveness towards her young cousin is so sweet and endearing. She may wibble a bit on her feelings for Leighton but she knows her cousin needs her. Roll on book 7!!!

Overall, Covert Games is a excellent addition to the Redemption Harbor Series, each book has been a wonderful read and I highly recommend them all.

I've come to the conclusion that if you want the best dangerously exciting romance you need to look no further than Katie Reus. The power of her imagination keeps you hooked from page to page, despite the pounding heart and bated breath of her storylines. With excellent characters and wonderful twists and turns, along with stunning settings and skilled interactions, this book is a must read for any reader wanting a romance with an edge - outstanding!

If anyone’s not read Katie Reus’s Redemption Harbor Series, you are missing out on a series filled with passion and danger. From the romance seekers to the thrill seekers, this series is captivating and fulfilling!

Book six of the series brings co-founder Leighton and Lucy Carreras in a mission very personal, playing “Covert Games”, as they try to bring down Lucy’s evil uncle, who has some very shading dealings and hurting the innocent as well. Lucy’s loyalties are put to the test, and Leighton’s heart is in the crossfire of this battle.

Resurrection was an astounding start to the series, and as much as I enjoyed the other books in the series, Covert Games is my second favorite of the series. The chemistry between Leighton and Lucy is electrifying and the rest of the team being involved in lot more of the pages added spice and intensity to the story.

Katie Reus as always captivates with her plot and narration. I love her attention to sketching characters true to reality and making them perfectly imperfect.

Lucy Carreras had gotten under his skin…

Katie Reus’ Covert Games is the latest release in her Redemption Harbor series. It is officially the sixth installment, but it works well as a stand alone read, if that is your preference. Redemption Harbor Consulting’s confounder Leighton finally gets his story told as he’s featured along with Luciana “Lucy” Carreras, the niece of RHC’s greatest adversary, Russian crime lord Alexei Kuznetsov.

As this tale opens, Leighton receives intel through an old FBI friend that Kuznetsov will shortly be brought to justice by the FBI. This same friend expresses concerns about one of Kuznetsov’s female sex trafficking victims who is believed to be located in New Orleans. The FBI won’t get involved in a rescue as doing so would sabotage their planned takedown. So, she asks Leighton to rescue her.

The team quickly mobilizes to find, snatch and save that one woman. But, as they receive more information, they expand their search and rescue to include as many of Kuznetsov’s unwilling victims as they can before they get caught in the crossfire. To do so, the team plans to use the current manager of The Sapphire, Kuznetsov’s hotel and casino complex in New Orleans to get inside his operation. That manager is Lucy, Kuznetsov’s niece. Left unanswered is whether Lucy is her uncle’s willing accomplice or if she’s not cognizant of his illegal and immoral activities. What Leighton doesn’t count on is being blindsided by the sparks that fly between him and Lucy.

Leighton and Lucy are both wonderful characters. Leighton is lonely and surrounded by other team members who have found their own love interests. Sadly, Leighton feels that he is doomed to never find love. So, when he first meets Lucy and is instantly attracted to her, he’s very tender and sweet with her. His alpha nature quickly comes to the forefront as he vows to protect her at any cost.

Unlike her uncle, Lucy has morals and is a kind, warm-hearted soul. My heart broke for her when she discovered that she’d been misled regarding her parents’ deaths. Leighton was her rock during this traumatic time. I really loved the steamy chemistry between them, and the caring, courageous natures that this couple exhibit. If I had any complaint, it would be that I’d have liked to have seen more to make them insta-like then insta-love so rapidly. But, heck, their relationship worked well with this story and I had no trouble just going with it.

The whole team is involved in this mission. As a fan, it’s a treat anytime I can catch up with them - especially Skye, who was half of the couple who kicked off this series. She’s still kickass and a bit crazy, but she’s also funny, competent and has most assuredly found her perfect niche with the team.

Following please find a few of my favorite lines from Covert Games:

"I want you more than any woman… Ever."
---

“Kiss me,” she softly demanded, her eyes flaring with heat and hunger. For him.
---

"Fight for the fairy tale. It exists."
---

"When you know… you know. If she’s it for you, don’t fight it."

Katie is one of my favorite authors. Her books are always entertaining reads. She’s a must-read for me so as soon as I see she’s had a new release, I pick it up. Covert Games is an outstanding addition to Katie’s Redemption Harbor series. It’s teeming with romance, gripping suspense, surprising twists, fast-paced action, humor and danger at every turn! I can’t wait for the next book, Chasing Vengeance, to be released in April 2019!

Redemption Harbor is the 6th book in the series and I think you will enjoy it a lot more if you've read the previous books since most of the characters play a role in this one.

This starts out as a "seducing the enemy" type plot but I was very glad that the deception doesn't go on to long and the heroine is adult about the reason for the deception. The instant love/lust in this book didn't work quite as well for me especially given the characters backgrounds (which I wish we would have gotten a bit more of how they worked through/got past that).

The suspense is really what drives this book and that part was done very well. I enjoyed this book but it wasn't my favorite in the series.

Another great read by Katie Reus, the book is a stand alone, but is part of a series. I love series, its great when an author brings you up to date on characters you know and love. Katie does this easily. This story was about human trafficking, which is not a subject I usually like to read about, but Katie gives you the information needed and you feel for the victims without having to bring up every detail to titillate. Love her work and I was lucky enough to be given this book to read!!! Waiting for more!

I love romantic suspense and Katie Reus really delivers with Covert Games. Katie is great at building tension and creating a story that keeps you guessing. Her female characters are strong women and I really enjoy that.

Leighton Cannon is tracking the activities of Alexei Kuznetsov as a favor to a friend. His best chance at learning what he needs is through Kuznetsov’s niece, Lucy. He figures she will know of her uncle’s dealings and can help him find what he’s looking for. What he doesn’t count on is finding that Lucy interests him in a way he didn’t think he was capable of.

Lucy Carreras runs her uncle’s hotel, but doesn’t know Alexei Kuznetsov as anything but the man who raised her after her parent’s death. When she begins to suspect illegal activities in her hotel, Leighton confirms her fears and promises to help her dig to the bottom of it.

Both of these characters were quite likeable. Leighton has watched his teammates fall in love and never anticipated he would find that for himself. When he meets Lucy he begins to question that idea, and challenges himself to look beyond her family tree. He is honorable, protective, and solid throughout the dangerous and stressful situations the pair find themselves. Lucy is also a solid character, finding peace in working for family, in doing good. When she learns of her uncle’s activities she is shocked and has to quickly find inner strength she didn’t know she possessed.

I loved returning to Redemption Harbor (and New Orleans with the team). There was less time spent in RH itself, but there were plenty of cameos and assistance by the team members. When this story ramps up, it moves quickly and keeps rolling through scene after dangerous scene. This is another great addition to the Redemption Harbor series. Katie Reus has a solid group of characters and series arc with this set of stories that continues to entertain and engross.

I received this book for free from netgalley and author in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Thoroughly enjoyed reading Lucy and Leighton’s story. Great storyline and all of the crew were involved in the takedown. A few twists along the way kept me riveted. Their chemistry was great and seeing Leighton go all in was awesome. I can’t wait for more in this series.

Covert Games by Katie Reus is book 6 in the Redemption Harbor Series. This is the story of Leighton Cannon and Lucy Carrera. I have read the previous books and I do feel that helped me to fully enjoy this book.
Leighton has been asked to look into Alexei Kuznetsov illegal activities, which leads him to Lucy. Lucy was taken in by her Uncle and now helps to run his hotel...but she is starting to think something else is going on with him. Lucy and Leighton have sparks flying between the two but each have issues besides working toward finding out about Alexei. Ms. Reus is a great author and I always enjoy her books. They have everything that I look for...a hot alpha male, a strong female lead and a great exciting story line.

The Redemption Harbor team is closing in on Kuznetsov and his operations and hope to finally take him down. But first they must get close to his niece, Lucy. Leighton decides he will be the one to try to get closer to her uncle through Lucy. While Lucy appears to be innocent, Leighton has to work at keeping his guard up around her. When they both can’t deny their attraction to each other, Leighton pulls her into the operation, hoping to keep her safe. But with time ticking away, the danger becomes even closer and risking both their lives and newfound love for each other.
While this is the sixth book in the Redemption Harbor series, it can be read as a standalone. Katie Redus has written a great series, so trust me you will want to go back and read the others.
