Sometimes it's just best that Harrison gives in to his woman, “Bbut I —” he began before stopping himself with a nod. “Okay. You’re the expert. You’re in charge.” The man takes offense to some things, "that got him to snap to attention. “The devil you did. I was the one doing the kissing.” The man can be sensitive about things, “I know damn well what you mean,” he said. “Just promise me you will never refer to a man’s junk as his rod and tackle again.” I liked this book, I loved Harrison.

*****Puppy Love pits big, bad, grumpy diabetic firefighter, Harrison, against petit dog trainer, Sophie, and Bubbles, the Pomeranian chosen to be Harrison’s support dog to warn of a pending insulin crisis. Sophie, a Leukemia survivor, has been coddled her entire life and working with Harrison really is her attempt at self realization and being assertive, evening her family doubts she can ever be on her own. Harrison, meanwhile, has never been properly socialized. Abandoned by his mother when he was diagnosed, he and his grumpy dad share the rundown homestead. He seldom smiles and his gruff demeanor has scared most folks away. These two have a lot to teach each other as they work together to train the dog...who is terrified of fire! The author has written a clever sexy story that is a delight to read. She has filled the pages with situations that make the reader chuckle and smile. Sophie realizes that the way to train Harrison is to annoy and push him. Harrison realizes that his life before Bubbles and Sophie wasn’t really a life. Walls that have come down, however, instantly can be rebuilt when Harrison’s long absent mother reappears. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book. Highly recommend.

The story of Harrison and Sophie. Both very different in terms of personality and family backgrounds.

Harrison needs a dog who can detect his low blood sugar when he is out fighting fires. Sophie can train the dog for him, even if it's not quite the puppy he was expecting!

Entertaining and emotional read.

This is Harrison and Sophie’s book Sophie works with her sisters at their business training service puppies it’s called puppy promise because of Sophie‘s background when she was a child they kind of all treat her like she’s made of glass. Harrison is a big bad wildlife firefighter Who is in need of a service animal he’s trying to find the right fit so he goes to Sophie. He couldn’t be a worse unlikely fit for the sweet Pomeranian bubbles or Sophie! Lol this book was really sweet and definitely had some steam to it , it was very good writing and I definitely recommend reading this one!! I did enjoy reading it! thank you Netgalley and the publishers for sharing this book with me!

This was really, really adorable cute. It handled chronic illness/illness recovery in a way that felt real and right (& hey diabetes rep in books!). I really loved all the relationships, though I do wish the Hero & his mother’s had been explored more—not necessarily through the lens of him forgiving her, but just in terms of atonement and moving forward because I think it’s rare to see the mother come back in these scenarios in romance novels.

Anyways, do recommend if you enjoy Scary Looking Teddy Bears Taken Down by Cute But Fierce Forces of Nature.

This is the first book I have read by this author, but she is now on my to read list. I loved this book it was fun and cute and emotional. Big gruff guy with a cute little puppy? How could you not love it? The interactions between Harrison and Sophie were at times hilarious and heartwarming. Watching the change that Bubbles and Sophie brought out in Harrison made for a very good story about overcoming life's obstacles. I highly recommend this book.
