Smooth Moves is the second book in the On The Go series. The first book was entertaining but the story was weakened by the series intro material. Smooth Moves suffers no imbalance. It's a solid, entertaining romance, a quick, sexy, read. It could stand alone, but I think the most enjoyment would come from reading the series. Smooth Moves features a really engaging hero and heroine, and the supporting characters are fully drawn and interesting. The happily ever after journey is well written and I look forward to book 3.
I received my copy through NetGalley under no obligation.

Two brothers Reid and Cash, managing Vets On The Go, employed military and provided exceptional services for the local moving needs of Seattle’s citizens. The first had found the one and the second was having too much fun arguing with the sexy military, Jordan who was definitely pushing his buttons like no one else. But what if the real thing was in front of him?

I appreciated their story about people who trying to adjust to civil life and keeping their business in the family. Everyone who worked for them became as well family. A range of individuals from a variety backgrounds.

The chemistry between Cash and Jordan was sinfully hot and the back and forth was deliciously charming and refreshing. There was no games, just the possibility of something more and real, beneath the surface, seeing all the things that one could see, the scars and deep wounds and always supporting the other, with best interest at hearts even if sometimes it could lead to some point of conflicts resulting from their actions.

Anyway, ‘Smooth Moves’ was an actually emotional read with a quirky sense of humor and characters who created such a great heartfelt story.

I had a spot for families stories and it worked smoothly, interesting so I couldn’t wait to read on.

Marie Harte is a new author to me but after reading this book I will certainly be looking at her other works including book 1 in this Veteran Movers Series. This was a fun read with plenty of witty banter as well as a fair bit of sarcasm, I enjoy snarky humour so this book was right up my street.
Jordan and Cash don’t play games and once they decided they were a couple there was no stopping them and I really loved their honesty with each other, I loved the chemistry they shared and I loved the witty banter that flowed so naturally. Cash is a big burly man but he has a heart of gold and I found myself just wanting to hug him whilst Jordan is a strong sassy ex-army heroine who is just a tad vulnerable and together they are perfect.
This book is full of fun characters who share a amazing rapport and I can wait to read their stories.

Smooth Moves is the second instament from the Veteran Movers series, following the story of Cash and Jordan. Though, I have not read the first book, it was easy to get to know the roster of characters.

Cash is a former Marine hunky loud mouth. He has very low self esteem even with a big heart. He is also very brash, has a loud sense of humor and a big appetite to match.

Jordan is his co-worker, whom he cheekily calls Little Army. She is strong willed with a no nonsense attitude. She is also quite sweet. They feel instant attraction but also hindered by the fact that Cash, is technically Jordan's boss as part-owner of Vets on the Go!, their moving business.

Jordan now also has the responsibility to take care of her little brother Rafi and try to correct his wild rebel ways.

This book is a little lengthy compared to my other recent reads but it gives you a full scope of everybody's story. Fun filled with bits of angst, lots of steamy scenes and a good dose of love. Truly an entertaining read.

Smooth Moves is the second book of the Veteran Movers series, this time featuring Jordan and Cash. Their romantic tension is palpable and it's hard not to be entertained by their flirty banter. There's always a fun side to romance stories such as these and I'm so glad that the characters support the whole dynamic. The only downside I found is it goes on too long on some parts that I can't fully enjoy the story without skipping over them and getting to the good parts.

What started off as a simple physical attraction led to something more, although they both try so hard to deny their feelings for each other. Jordan and Cash is a great couple. They have quite the chemistry to start off with an intense feeling for each other. There's so much to be desired with couples like them.

Looking forward to the next book in the series!

We met Cash and Jordan in THE WHOLE PACKAGE, and at that time I wasn’t sure how I was going to react to Cash’s own story. Yet this bear of a guy, who brawls when needed, isn’t afraid to poke another angry bear of a guy won me over when I got to know more about him. History and the past can mess with a person’s head, and what was done to Cash has had lasting effects. Loved Jordan even more as I got to know her better. Her crashes with her teenage brother were so realistic. The bantering, the giving as good as they get from each other really drew me to this couple and made their story sweet and sizzling sexy at the same moment. Jordan is ex-military, former MP so she knows how to handle herself, and I loved the moments when Cash let her do just that even though he fought against every instinct to just go kick butt himself.

They are so alike on many levels, and like oil and water on another. They are a complex couple brought together in a way that makes sense. They can both be strong on their own, but they’re better and stronger together. I enjoyed seeing the whole crew again and definitely looking forward to the next story which hopefully will bring that secret out into the open for a resolution. You “could” read SMOOTH MOVES on its own and have a very enjoyable experience – personally, I think you’ll understand all of the characters, including these if you can start at the beginning but that’s only my opinion.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

5 Stars

This story is laugh out loud funny, sexy, intense and suspenseful all rolled into one (eventual) happily ever after. Cash and Jordan separate are amazing characters full of depth, strength of character and a vulnerability neither one likes to show, as a couple they take this story to a whole other level! As their relationship evolves and other characters and situations come into play we start to see what lies beneath the surface and how perfect they are for one another.

SMOOTH MOVES is the second instalment in Marie Harte’s contemporary, adult VETERAN MOVERS erotic, romance series focusing on the men and women who work for Vets on the Go!-a moving company established to help former servicemen. This is thirty-six year old, ex-Marine and co-owner of Vets on the Go, Cash Griffith, and thirty year old ex-Army MP Jordan Fleming’s story line. SMOOTH MOVES can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous instalment is revealed where necessary. There is a slight cross-over with the author’s THE DONNIGANS series.

NOTE: The Veteran Movers series was original title MOVIN’ ON.

Told from several third person perspectives including Jordan and Cash SMOOTH MOVES follows thirty-six year old, ex-Marine and co-owner of Vets on the Go, Cash Griffith, and thirty year old ex-Army MP Jordan Fleming. Jordan Fleming works for Vets on the Go, and as such Cash believes she is off-limits. Technically her boss, Cash struggles with his attraction to an employee, an employee who pushes all of his buttons. Jordan Fleming is helping to raise her fifteen-year old brother whose attitude leaves something to be desired. Hoping to set Rafi on the straight and narrow Jordan asks Cash to speak to her brother thusly bringing Cash into their lives. What ensue is the building relationship between Cash and Jordan, and the potential fall-out as Cash runs interference for Jordan’s brother, interference that results in issues of trust between our leading couple.

Meanwhile, Cash has inherited his mother’s home, a home that does not illicit fond memories of a time long ago. Believing himself the black sheep of the family, Cash has to wonder why was he the target of his father’s wrath, and his mother’s lack of love and support. Hoping to move forward, Cash begins clearing out the memories and the ghosts, only to discover the family secret his mother did not want anyone to know.

The relationship between Jordan and Cash is a friends/employee to lovers romance that finds Cash playing big brother to Jordan’s younger sibling. Both Jordan and Cash battle the usual dysfunctional family dynamics but for Jordan her parents struggle to understand their troubled teen. The sexual attraction and chemistry between our couple is palpable. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful secondary and supporting characters including Cash’s brother Reid and his girlfriend Naomi ( The Whole Package #1); business partner and cousin Evan; gym trainer Gavin Donnigan; Jordan’s brother Raphael (Rafi), their sister Leanne and her fiancé Troy , as well as their parents Maria and Carl Younger. We also welcome the return of the Vets on the Go employees: Hector, Lafayette, Funny Rob and Smith Ramsay, as well as woman’s empowerment instructor Miriam.

SMOOTH MOVES is a story of family, struggle, acceptance and love. The premise is inviting and captivating; the romance is passionate and spicy; the characters are animated and spirited. SMOOTH MOVES is a realistic and engaging story of family, friends and love.

Cash was on a moving job from hell. It gave him the jitters to be around money and class. Both of which he had little abundance. He was fine with that. Hector and Cash as well as Jordan and Heidi were all on this job. The only thing Cash’s mother left him was a nightmare and a house that caused tension between Cash and his brother Reid. Jordan yelled at one of the Miller twins to slow down. Jordan was an ex Army MP and cash thought she was sexy. Vets On The Move employed military veterans and provided the people of Seattle with experienced service for their local moving needs. Cash and his brother reid wned the company. Business was thriving and cash had been ordered to keep his big mouth shut. Though Cash was two years older - his younger brother Reid had taken the business from small and barely managing to a real success. So Cash did his best to keep his opinions to himself and pack, lifted and moved. Something about Jordan had been on his last nerve since day one. A sizzle of attraction. A spark when they accidently touched. And she made him laugh with that large attitude stuffed in a tiny, appealing package. Cash struggles with his attraction to Jordan as he is technically her boss as well as coworker. Jordan also knew how to push Cash’s buttons. Cash had found the last two years in the civilian world challenging. Jordan had dreamed of Cash holding her more than once. His stubborn jaw had tempted her more than once to punch it and than kiss it and make it better. Even though Cash was half owner of the moving company but he was out working like any other employee. Cash’s eyes seem to be constantly on Jordan filling her with heat. The big bad man intimidated most people but he didn’t frighten her. Cash was a protector at heart. He was always the first in line to offer help. Jordan thought of her own brother Rafi who had taken money out of her wallet, and who seemed to be on the verge of throwing away his entire future. When Cash and Reid’s mother had died cash found out to his and Reid’s shock that the mother who’d ignored him for the past twenty plus years had left him her property and everything that came with it. His mother had died a month ago. He and Reid didn’t understand it. For the first seven years of his life Cash had been loved by Angela and Charles Griffith. He and reid shared an idyllic childhood until something happened and to this day he still didn’t understand. He remembered that day. The sun was shining and a favorite cartoon was on in the background . Than the hatred in his fathers eyes and the immediate reversal of everything good in his life, including the gradual decline of Angela as she ignored the family more and more until Cash might as well ceased to exist. Cash thought how being near jordan caused his heart to race for no apparent reason. She distracted him with her light floral scent that caused other parts of him to get excited. He continued to think of her at his mother's/ now his house as he cleaned out his mothers stuff out of his room. Yet Reids room looked the same as when they lived there. Jordan goes to Cash to help her with Rafi, to talk to him help him get back on the straight and narrow. Jordan is trying to help Cash with his family problems. Cash does run interference for Rafi which results in issues between him and Jordan.
I really enjoyed reading this book. I enjoyed the plot and pace.I felt bad that Jordan’s parents had given up on fifteen year old Rafi and it feel on Jordan to take him on and try to raise him. But he’s their son not Jordan’s. My heart broke for Cash the ways he was physically and mentally abused when he was young and made to believe he was worthless, no good, a loser and he still believed it. I loved that Jordan would set Cash straight when she felt he needed it. I loved how this group of ex military people got along. I advise you to read the first book in this series for a smoother more knowledgeable read. I loved Jordan and Cash together and how they interacted. I wish I could rate this 4.5. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I recommend it.

This is the second book in Marie Harte's Movin' On series about a moving company that hires military veterans as employees.

Cash, who was introduced in the first book, and Jordan are both veterans who work together at the moving company. They go from sparring to friends to more. Both have strong personalities and issues to work through. Their attraction and relationship were nicely plotted.

This was a nice addition to the series and I am looking forward to the next book.

SMOOTH MOVES is the second book in Marie Harte's Veteran Movers series. Marie Harte is the queen of writing stellar stories about hunks with a heart. Cash Griffin is a little rough around the edges, but Marie Harte digs deep with these complex characters. Cash has a lot of emotional stuff to sort out in his head. The death of his mother is something that continues to reverberate for him, and his relationship with his brother is always something to tries to keep strong. Jordan Fleming is a fellow veteran who works with Cash and is also going through a lot. Cash and Jordan find a way to help each other, but with surprisingly sexy results.

What I love about a Marie Harte story is that it's usually character- driven and the characters in the story are so multifaceted and amazing. SMOOTH MOVES is a perfect example of exactly why I'm a Marie Harte fan. The recent death of their mother and the dysfunctional relationship that their parents had with each other, and with them, has had a profound impact on the Griffin brothers. Reid was always perceived to be the golden boy, while Cash usually got the short end of the stick. Marie Harte does a phenomenal job of painting a detailed portrait of this family and the flawed but fabulous hero of this tale. Cash and Jordan compliment each other perfectly. This hero and heroine are both strong, in more ways than one, but they also have a soft spot when it comes to family. I love how both provide support when they are at their most emotionally vulnerable. I enjoy a hero and heroine with a lot of similarities who make a great team, and this couple has that kind of magic.

SMOOTH MOVES has it all: great character-driven storytelling, steamy encounters, and hunks with big hearts. All the Vets on the Go! Moving crew are a lot of fun to read about. The story involving Jordan's younger brother is a nice parallel for Cash's past. The Griffin family drama is compelling, and I anxiously await seeing how things progress in the next installment.

Movin' On #2, (aka Vets on the Go or Veteran Movers) At least we didn't have to wait long for Cash and Jordan to finally hook up. I knew there was more to Cash than meets the eye and my esteem for Jordan just skyrocketed. Even though these two met in the first book I think you could easily read this by itself. Their snarky banter just feeds off each other, and personality wise these are a perfect match. Cash has quite a bit of past history with emotional abuse from his mother and also physical abuse from his father and then a past girlfriend was not just cheating on him but stealing from him and now with his brother in a committed relationship he's afraid he's going to lose him too. Cash thinks he's not good enough for Jordan but that doesn't stop him from wanting to help and protect her if need be, so when she asks him to help out her little brother who is getting ready to make some majorly bad life decisions Cash is more than willing to help, especially after meeting the teenager. Jordan has guardianship over her teenage brother Rafael, "Rafi" for short their parents don't know how to handle a teenage boy who acts out so they are threatening him with military type school in order to straighten him out. Jordan thinks that's a horrible idea for her brother, just because the Army helped straighten her out doesn't mean the same will happen with Rafi, she asks Cash to talk to him and help get the point across that school matters.

I loved the story with Rafi, stupid teenager stuff of trusting the wrong people and mean teachers. Cash and Jordan faced some hard truths in this book but together they were able to handle it. Cash was able to confide in Jordan and show her his vulnerable side and be all sweet and protective with her and vise versa Jordan is more than capable of taking care of herself and she stands up for Cash when need be, even dropping one of their coworkers to the floor for taking the jokes about Cash too far.

Overall, I loved this story. I loved their romance and just how everything fell together and how everything worked out. Miriam, bwahahahaha, and I love Heidi I would not mind a F/F book for her in this series or M/M with Lafayette.

4.5 stars - So good! You really have to love the hero, Cash. He’s a big brute with an even bigger heart. Jordan, of course, is the perfect woman for him. She’s a pretty bad mama jama, and she’s all woman, too. It’s a fantastic read! I can’t wait to hear more about Evan joining the team and the mysterious Sam, too.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I really enjoyed this book. A moving company run by Vets employing Vets. The main character in this book was Cash who had trouble fitting in but did fine with th moving business. He was one of the owners, but preferred to be one of the workers. He joked with them and groused with them. He did have a penchant for getting hurt helping people get out of trouble (like defending someone getting picked on o hurt) The story had some interesting side stories about the two main families. Both were disfunctional to an extent. I have read this author before and will look for more of her work. Good story

We were introduced to Cash in The Whole Package when he stepped in and stopped a robbery. Due to that the moving company that he and his brothers created to help veterans adjust to civilian life is an overnight success. Cash comes across as obnoxious and arrogant but as a former Marine he hides how much he wants to be loved and just how big his heart really is. Jordan is a strong brave fierce warrior retired from the Army trying to keep her younger brother on the straight and narrow. Cash and Jordan are two of the best characters ever! You really need to read their story and go on this journey with two hardheaded but INCREDIBLY lovable vets. I CAN'T WAIT to read the next book in this AMAZING series! I was given an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion of this book.

Ex-marine Gunnery Sergeant Cash Griffith is a protector who's always the first in line to offer help. He also is impulsive, brash and full of bluster hiding his wounded heart. Cash is co-owner with his brother Reid of a moving company to help former military so they could get lives together. Cash's father hated him from his 7th birthday and no one knew why. Cash finally left home joining the marines after being abused by his dad.

Ex-army MP Jordan Heming is a female Dudley-Do-Right starting over and trying to help her teen brother Raphael, Rafi, from landing in a heap of trouble. She is one of the crew of the moving company. Jordan has a younger full sister, Leanne, and Rafi is her 15 year old half-brother. Rafi is having trouble in school and his parents are using tough love to try to get him to straighten up and do better in school. Jordan has taken him in at her apartment during summer school to see if she can help him. Otherwise in the fall their parents will ship him off to military school all the way across the country. She strikes a deal with Cash, he'll talk to Rafi and she'll help him pack up his mom's house full of bad memories. As they spend together they begin to fight the chemistry between them since technically he's her boss at work.

I love Marie's stories. She takes everyday situations, fills them with wonderful complicated people with real problems. Her stories take us on a journey to healing and love. I've been able to see behind the curtain of so many people to see what drives them, makes them tick. I've experienced so many other "peoples" personalities and come to understand the why of some behaviors. Some of the things she deals with in this story are rejection, abuse, neglect, depression, hidden secrets and dyslexia. We find with her stories that seeking to help each other and deal with issues is the path to acceptance of self worth and love for others.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I tried getting into this story and I just couldn't get into it.
The story was well written, the story just did not capture my interest.
Might be the book for you, but not for me.

The book follows former military Cash and Jordan, that are now co-workers in a moving company (Vets on the Go!) as they navigate the attraction they have for each other and reconcile their backstories and wounds from the past with the present.
It's a fun novel that features two strong main characters that are not afraid of each other and understand the idea of teaming up and stay with each other through thick and thin. I loved Jordan's relationship with her brother and how much Cash is in this for the long haul.
A strong book in a series that promises a lot!

Two of the most obstinate characters in the series, come head to head in Smooth Moves. Cash and Jordan both give off the rough exterior, but deep down, they're just like everyone else who wants to be loved. The witty banter between the two is clever and will have you in stitches. You don't have to read the first book in order to enjoy this one, but it definitely plays a key in getting to know the characters better. I love the Veteran Movers series and wish they were a real company locally, I'd move just for the fun of it!

We met Cash in The Whole Package when he stepped in to thwart a robbery and suddenly the moving company that he and his brothers created to help vets adjust to civilian life has become an overnight success. Cash is a former marine with a need to protect and will help anyone and although he comes across as arrogant underneath he hides a big heart and a man who just wants to be loved.

After leaving the army Jordan is adjusting to civilian life and ensuring that her brother stays on the right path to finish high school. The job with Vets On The Go is the perfect fit as it allows her to connect with others who understand her new reality and is beginning to feel like a family.

Cash and Jordan have an intense attraction to each other and perfect for each other. Cash wants to protect her but admires her strong and feisty side and Jordan appreciates that he is willing to let her stand up for herself but knows that he will always be there for her and allows her to have a softer side as well. I am enjoying this series and I am looking forward to Evan’s story next.
