I loved this book of patterns! When I'm looking to invest in a collection, it's important to me that it contains a variety. From accessories to sweaters, from simple to more advanced. I want to have options. Unlike so many others, instead of only one or two patterns I found myself eager to make pretty much all of them! Clear instructions, great photos. A perfect addition to any knitter's collection!

Coffeehouse Knits is an ingenious book, with a themed centered around the concepts of a coffeeshop and socializing. Blending two of my favorite things coffee and knitting, so there was no hesitation in agreeing to read this book; I loved that there was a whole book dedicated to the idea. Stunning images for a wide variety of good-looking projects, that show the garment/s from several different angles, with close-ups on the design work.

Reading through the lovely collection patterns, I was pleased to find that the author had projects that are not too difficult for a beginner nor nothing that is too uninteresting for a more experienced knitter. I take pleasure in examining knitting books, looking for patterns to try knitting and expanding of my own personal knitting skills. The patterns and instructions are easy to read and the understand, with each pattern having a chapter of their own; including inspiring notes and motivational essays from the designer. Along with her observations depicting warm feelings of combining knitting and socializing in knitting communities in the world.

The cover on Coffeehouse Knits is beautiful and inviting; with patterns that have lovely names like “House Blend Cardigan” and “Breakfast Brioche Shawl”, and the colors of the yarns used are luscious. My favorite patterns were the Morning Brew Pattern of a sweater, Latte Swirl Sweater and the Soho Shawl; but I wanted to try one of the knitting pattern to verify the easy of following the patterns; so, I picked the Chai Latte Cowl pattern, found this pattern to be plainly worded and fast to knit, with a gorgeous cowl to wear. Knitting techniques and abbreviations are found in the book, and there is also a small index where special techniques are explained step-by-step; with links for further detailed instructions.

Coffeehouse Knits is well written and would make a great addition to any knitter’s bookshelves. I am more than happy to be adding this gem to my bookshelf, and I cannot wait until this book is in my hands and on my bookshelf and I am knitting the patterns. I always like to write a review for the authors, helping them get their work noticed by others, these are my own true thoughts and feelings about Coffeehouse Knits by Kerry Bogert; both are deserving a 4-star rating.

I just love perusing a new knitting book. My favorite patterns in this book are the Gingersnap Pullover that is a nice sweater, Morning Brew Pattern of a sweater, and the Soho Shawl. To top these, being a sock person, I just love that they included the twirling socks and extra whip sock patterns. Now that the snow is flying, I think I might try to whip up some mittens using the Steamed Mittens pattern which takes the basic mitten look and adds a flare to it to make it extra special.

A good pattern book. Attractive pictures and a good assortment of types of knitting. Overall at least worth a look to see if you want some of the things to make as gifts or for yourself.

When looking for new knitting books, I also look for two things: gorgeous patterns and clear instructions. This book has both, plus stunning photography. It’ll be hard which pattern to knit first.

I really enjoyed reading the essays and browsing the patterns in this book.
The prose sections made me yearn to be part of a bigger in-person knitting community. The patterns had a good variety of different garments and accessories and weren't overly complicated. I'd be comfortable buying this book for a confident advanced beginner/intermediate knitter.

The theme for this book is self-explanatory, but really it's just a collection of knitting patterns, with some short essays about knitting interspersed. Each pattern is accompanied by several photos, including closeups so you can see the stitching, and also charts and diagrams. The instructions are nicely organized and easy to follow. I'd say these patters are for at least the intermediate knitter, a bit too complicated for the beginner. The styles (sweaters and accessories) included in this book are contemporary and would suit a variety of individuals. While I didn't find any that I'd like to try, I think others might find them interesting.

While reading this I had to constantly stop myself from sending screenshots to other knitters and instead had to settle for yelling about it loudly in group chats. These patterns are GORGEOUS, and the book layout is wonderfully conducive to the act of crafting itself. Every item in here seems to scream "I WILL BE THE MOST COMFORTABLE THING IN YOUR WARDROBE" and also whispers in your ear to "treat yo self" to some very expensive, very high quality yarn, bc lemme tell you, I would use my finest yarns for these patterns. I would drape them in alpaca silk blends across my form and dream to make them in cashmere.

A friend of mine has been teaching me how to knit and I thought these patterns would be fun to try out. The gloves are probably my favorite and although I am not quite advanced enough to make them on my own, with her help I think I just might be able to do it! These are really lovely variety of patterns. Enjoyed the book.

Coffeehouse Knits is a cozy collection of knitting patterns and essays gathered together around the concepts of coffeeshops and community. As we have come to expect from Interweave/F&W Media, the photography is stunning and the patterns clear and easy to read. There are twenty patterns in all — in terms of garments there are six sweaters, one cardigan, and one tee, whilst for accessories there are two pairs of socks, one pair of mittens, one beanie, four cowls, two scarves, and two shawls — and each pattern looks luscious and inviting. They range in yarn weight from fingering-weight (4ply) to bulky (chunky), with most being around the DK/worsted weights.

I chose to knit the Chai Latte Cowl and I found the pattern to be clearly worded and quick to knit, with a gorgeous cowl to wear afterwards. Reading the patterns through, I was pleased to find that there was nothing too taxing for a beginner nor nothing too boring for a more experienced knitter. Techniques and abbreviations are found towards the back of the book. The accompanying essays all centre around the concept of community as experienced through knitting, and offer inspiring and motivational reflections on what it means to be a knitter in today’s world. All in all, this is a lovely collection which would make a great addition to any knitter’s bookshelves.

Beautiful patterns although not for the beginner knitter. Clearly written with nice photographs. I enjoyed the short essays by the contributors.

The "Coffeehouse Knits” collection has a little something for everyone. Sweaters, socks, mittens and neckwear are all represented in this book of patterns and essays by some of today’s most popular knitwear designers. The inspiration for this book is knit night, a beloved institution for social knitters. Most of the patterns are meant to be projects in which the knitter can let their hands do their work, while they chat with other knitters.

I’m personally intrigued with learning new techniques, and this books emphasis is less on new techniques, and more on simplicity and repetition. Regardless, several of the patterns in this book have made it to my Ravelry favorites list, and I enjoyed reading the essays.

This is a great collection of knitting patterns, with a good mix of sweaters and accessories like socks, cowls and hats. Each pattern is named after a drink or coffeehouse term. I used to work at Starbucks, so I found this very entertaining! The patterns are all knit in neutral shades and are expertly photographed. Beautiful book with fun patterns!

This collection of knits is sure to inspire. The photographs are beautiful as is the cover. I'm a fairly new knitter but I was able to read and understand the patterns so if you want to broaden your skills and progress from making blankets and can read patterns then this is bound to delight. This is a great collection of beautiful knits. I got an advanced copy from Netgalley, but then purchased my own copy so I could have a hard copy. I have not made any yet, but there are many that I want to complete. A bonus is the little essays sprinkled in among the patterns.

I began knitting around the time I was engaged to be married nearly 16 years ago (I brought my first project -- a ribbed scarf -- on my honeymoon for travel knitting). I intentionally developed my skills and am not intimidated to tackle stuffed animals, socks, shawls, or sweaters.

As my abilities and confidence have grown, I can also pinpoint ways knitting has brought dear people into my life through two specific examples. I had a knitting group form organically, starting with just two of us at a local coffeeshop and growing to around a dozen friends committed to meeting weekly and sharing the nitty-gritty of our lives together. When I was pregnant, I also joined an online due-date group within the Ravelry forums, and those initial shallow interactions about what we were making for our child(ren) or how our pregnancy was going have grown over the years to be an intimate group that doesn't hesitate to share about marriage difficulties, parenting struggles, job transitions, or moving opportunities. These friendships began over a shared love of knitting and grew deep.

Coffeehouse Knits was a visually engaging book to review, and it's framed around how public spaces like coffeeshops are natural gathering sites for knitting groups. The patterns within have names like Chai Latte Cowl and Latte Swirl Sweater. I've recently been turning my attention to creating cowls and shawls, so I was most drawn to the cowl and scarf patterns. Interspersed are essays reflecting on the value of knitting groups. I found the essays within a little uneven, but a couple later ones did connect with me and convey similar thoughts on the power of crafting to draw people together.

Coffeehouse Knits could be just the gift for a friend in your knitting group.

This book is filled with beautiful Knitting patterns that are for experienced beginners and intermediate knitters. Each pattern has several photos to showcase the knitted articles, accompanied with a chart and written instructions.

The easier patterns range from hats, cowls and scarfs, to intermediate level patterns of sweaters, socks and shawls. Any time there’s a specific knit stitch, it’s explained step by step. There are also links for further detailed instructions.

The patterns are so beautiful I can’t wait to get Knitting!

Charming full of readable knitting patterns, for both beginner and experienced knitters. The culture of knitting in coffee houses is well explored, as well as the beautiful garments that can be made. A very beautiful book!

I loved the diverse range of projects in this book. As an experienced knitter there were projects to help challenge me and projects from when I want something more mindless and relaxing. The layout and inspiration were appealing and it was enjoyable to read through the book and find out the inspiration behind each design. I’ll definitely be knitting a lot of items from this book
