June kisses is the 6th book in the Wilder Irish series. It's time for Sunnie and Landon to get a story and I wasn't disappointed in the least! These two have been friends for a long time and now their relationship turns into something more. It started with a kiss is a good alternate title for the book, but the reason they were brought together as a romantic couple was a video that went viral. Sunnie and Landon kissed two months before the main story began, but both of them decided not to do anything about it and moved on with their lives. Sunnie even got a boyfriend in those months. Nay.. She broke up with him though when they were in his car and he told her to get out leaving her to fend on her own. That's when she gets mugged and Landon goes to the rescue. A reporter filmed the whole thing, the video went viral and Landon got tons of fans which was something he didn't like. So he suggested to Sunnie to pretend to be his girlfriend in order for the other women to stop harassing him.

What was unusual about this book is that the hero of the story is the one who is always seeking commitment and is not a playboy, while the heroine jumps from one boyfriend to another giving off the vibe of a commitment-phobe. I am saying giving off the vibe because later she admits that she knows that one day she will settle down, but now she is just trying to enjoy her youth. If she hadn't admitted that I would have totally thought that she never wanted to commit. I loved Pops and I hope we will continue seeing him in the upcoming books. He is one heck of a secondary character. And speaking of secondary characters we have Finn and Landon's bi colleague (I think his name is Marc). I do hope that what I read was a hint of their story and not just something that could have happened, but will not.

Well written friends to lovers contemporary romance. The smooth flow of the storyline and the gradual development of the relationship between Sunnie and Landon made it a pleasure to read.

I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This is my first time reading a book from this author and I must admit, I'm hooked. The book was light and fun. I enjoyed every moment of it. It was a bittersweet ending for me....wish there was more to the Sunnie & Landon story. Looking forward to reading more from this author.

I enjoy this whole series even though I haven’t read them all. That’s one of the nice things with series, each book can be a stand alone. I liked both Sunnie and Landon. It seems to me that they were always meant to be even if they didn’t know it. Sunnie seemed to be more resistant to the idea of a real relationship instead of a superficial one with a superficial person. The premise of having to fake a relationship due to the results of today’s social media frenzy is a little far fetched but it works for the story. If you want an easy afternoon read, you can’t go wrong with this one.

This was my first Mari Carr book but I can say it won't be my last! When I started reading this book I didn't realize it was the 6th book of a series! Now I can't wait to go back and read from book 1! Great book!

Awww this was just the sweetest! The beginning but confused me a little and made me question whether to keep reading but I am so so glad I did. The characters are just perfect, and the love from each of them is palpable. The whole family gives me the warm and fuzzies, and makes me want to be part of it. Loved this book!

You can always count on the Collins clan and Marie Carr when you need an excellent story! These characters are lovable and so much fun. Pop Pop holds the whole group of kids and grandkids together. I always find myself smiling and flying through the story. June Kisses was exceptionally sexy too. Don’t miss the latest book in this series!

June Kisses
Mari Carr
Sunnie Young and Landon Riggs have known each other forever. Landon and Sunnie’s brother Finn have been best friends since they were little. Landon came from a single parent home, so he loved the chaos of Sunnie and Finn’s family. Sunnie started out as the pesky little sister following around Finn and Landon. As they grew older, they all hung out together sharing their lives. Landon is a police officer in Baltimore. When his girlfriend makes the decision to move to New York City to pursue an acting career, he is devastated. After many tequilas, a drunken kiss and some sexy talk, Sunnie and Landon’s relationship changes. One night, Sunnie gets mugged and Landon who happens to be patrolling with a reporter in tow, rescues her. In the heat of the moment, Landon kisses her and carries her to the car. Of course, the reporter videos them and they become an internet sensation. To get the heat off of him and get rid of all of the women following him, Landon suggests to Sunnie that they pretend to be a real couple. Soon Landon realizes that he actually has romantic feelings towards Sunnie and not brotherly ones. Sunnie is slow to follow. She wants to focus on her new career as an oncology nurse.
I really enjoyed reading this story about Landon and Sunnie. What started out as a drunken kiss, soon led to something more serious. It took time for both of these characters to change how they thought of each other, less like brother and sister and more like something else. It was a slow process before both realized that they were always meant for each other. We are also entertained by the rest of the clan that live in the dorm above the bar. I love each and every one of these characters. This story was funny, romantic and tugged at your heart strings, everything we expect in a book by Mari Carr. As always, I look forward to the next book in this series.

Landon and Finn have been best friends since childhood. When they were young, Finn's pesky sister Sunnie wanted to be part of their mischief and video games. After high school, the three became a trio of best friends, supporting one another through post-secondary schooling, new careers, and relationships. They are inseparable.

After one drunken kiss and one kiss under duress, Landon and Sunnie start to see one another differently. Landon eagerly accepts his new feelings, but Sunnie is afraid to get her heart broken, especially by a man who is already so important to her.

Love the ongoing family dynamic in these Wild/Wilder Irish books. Pop Pop is part benevolent patriarch and part sentimental romantic. And it was nice to check in with Riley and Aaron again.

Of course, there's plenty of heat too. Landon is a gentleman in all things except in the bedroom, and his descriptive and dirty mouth nearly melted my ereader. Definitely recommend this series. Each can be read as a standalone, but reading them in order is much more fun.

Love, love, love this book! Landon is a seriously swoony hero. He knows what he wants and goes for it. Sunnie Young is his best friend who suddenly becomes so much more after a drunken April Fools night kiss. Fast forward two months and it's all they can think about. Sigh 😍
I love friends to lovers stories and this is amongst the best example of the genre.
Mari Carr really hit her stride with this one.
Can't wait to see who cupid hits next in this fantastic series.

One kiss changed everything. She was his best friend and his best friend’s little sister but growing up beside Sunnie he no longer viewed her as a sister. One drunken kiss changed everything and when he saves her in a dark alley they become an internet sensation. Landon tried to get the wolves at bay and fake dating Sunnie would hold off the women who were enamoured with his new found fame. The only problem was convincing Sunnie everything he felt was real and it was never fake. Every moment with her only made him feel peace and she would be his forever.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This book is part of a series. I haven't read the previous ones, however this can be read as a standalone. It's a lot of fun. The chemistry between the two main characters is what makes the story exciting. They're opposites that definitely attract and they've known each other for most of their lives; it makes sense they should be together. There are a few intimacy scenes that seem a 'little too soon' for a new relationship, but maybe that's just my personal preference.
The touching dialogue with the family and brother help to make this book stand out from other basic romance tropes.
A light fun read.
3.5 stars.

Oh my! Just the perfect friends to lovers story! Sunnie Young is the typical little sister who just wants to follow her big brother and do what he does and that includes hanging out with his best friends. That is fine until they are in high school and then they become thick as thieves and that lasts well past high school until present day when they are each others best friends. After Landon breaks up with his long time girlfriend who moves away and at a party for April Fools day Landon and Sunnie are drunk and share a kiss or really two kisses. Suddenly the veil is dropped and Landon doesn't look at Sunnie the same but still tries to maintain the best friend status. Sunnie tries another trick and ghosts him for a couple weeks until she is mugged on her way home from work and Landon just happens upon the scene. He has a reporter in his car at the time who takes a video of the incident and their interlude (kiss and all) goes viral. This brings out all the crazies, paparazzi and crazy women and all and turns out to be just what is needed to bring these two together. Pretend to date! Or is it really pretend? This story is not to be missed. Even if you have not read the rest of the series, you will not be lost and this one is perfect. Another Collins Curse has fallen. Who is next?

Ohh MY Gosh!!
This book is amazing!

At first, I did not know what to really expect, the description of the books sounded cute and like it would be a good read. But it was better than good, it was amazing!

Sunnie (Short for Sunday) is the love um and leave them type. Once something starts to get serious she’s out the door. She’s out to have a good time and sow some wild outs before the family curse falls upon her.

Landon is the complete opposite he is a romantic at heart and is wanting/waiting for his happily ever after with a wife and 2.5 kids. He also has always followed the rules and been the “Boy Scout” type sense they where kids.

One night of letting go of the past and way to many tequila shots these best friends find themselves lipped locked. And then they both mind boggled. They play it off as not remembering until it happens again in a moment where both their adrenaline is pumping. And then bam their kiss goes viral. Both “Sexy Nurse Sunnie” and “Hot Single Cop Landon” team up to play a fake couple. But only its not really fake.

This book was such a cute read, I did not want to put it down.
However - I felt like the ending was rushed. Once you found out about their love for each other it kind of tapped out and you had the epilog.

3.5 stars.

This was sweet.

We hear from Landon and Sunday (Sunnie), they’ve known each other forever, but only see each other as siblings, until that first kiss. That’s when things start to change for both of them.

When the second kiss comes and goes viral, that’s when they realize things weren’t just attraction between them.

It was a fun story overall, they were both trying and denying their feelings, particularly Sunnie, lol. I loved her, she was so much fun and just what Landon needed. As for Landon, he was good, I liked that he was looking for his own HEA, he’d not settle for anything less.

Fun, sweet and hot.

*Thank you to NetGalley for providing a copy for which I’m giving my honest opinion*

Great start for the new generation of Wilder Irish. I haven't read the first series, Wild Irish but now I just feel that I need to.
It is a wonderful story about two best friends and the little sister that is a tagalong but after few years and few drinks after and that unforgettable kiss, all that is changed for Sunnie and Landon's friendship....
This story just kept my attention and I had to finish it as soon as possible, it was the situation where I almost burned my lunch simply because I was in the middle of an interesting chapter.
I am looking forward of the next instalments and on my TBR pile are the previous books by this author. Well done Mari Carr

Mari Carr has authored another sexy novel with June Kisses, the sixth book from her Wilder Irish series. It is a satisfying standalone read; complete with an appealing plot, interesting characters and lots of heat. If you enjoy the older brother's best friend romance trope, than this quick read is for you.
