This book definitely took me by surprise.
Like I thought I knew how this book was going to end but I was completely wrong.
Quinn and Jonah have known each for years since he is her brother's best friend, so when he unexpectedly ends up with a daughter he knew nothing about she steps in to help him, which obviously leads to them having this crazy secret relationship with no strings attached.
I liked how playful and funny they were with each other and how they cared about each other in the past but covering it up with irritation.
I did not see the twist in the end, it honestly took me by surprise and the only think I didn't like was that Jonah and Quinn were like "okay, but back to us..." and I was like ??? If someone did to me what they did to Jonah and Zander (even though it's pretty impossible) I would be super angry. Overall it was good book and I loved how they both treated Daisy.

The Body Checker by Cathryn Fox is an enjoyable read. Love the characters. Both the lead characters are complex and intriguing and the secondary characters pop with individualism and depth. Love the hockey theme yet didn't spend much time on hockey. Good story; sweet and hot like jalapeno cotton candy.

A cute love/hate relationship between Jonah and Daisy. He is her brothers best friend. She is the the know it all sister of his best friend. When an ex shows up at his home declaring he is a dad, he is left in a bad spot. He never knew she was pregnant, let alone prepared to be a dad. He is a hot NHL star, with a hectic schedule. Daisy volunteers to step in and help until he can find a nanny. What they didn't bargain for was falling in love.

I liked the story (although I read a book with a similar plot recently), I just didn't like the ending with the ex and the whole baby daddy. Left a bad taste for me.

I have read each book in this series and have loved each one. Seeing Jonah and Quinn, get together over a baby that was his. Was crazy. Then things get complicated, cause Quinn’s brother, Zander, is Jonah’s bf and becomes involved. Yeah, if you like hockey and macho men finding out their daddies and know nothing about babies, this book and future books in this series is for you.

The Body Checker does have a HEA ending. I am so relieved and actually like this ending better than the one I expected. Jonah is a man that doesn't shirk his responsibilities. When Quinn drops everything to help him out, no questions asked. I knew that is true love right there.

A big thank you to NetGalley and Kobo Writing Life for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. First time reading this author. I believe that this is the first book in a series. there is a smidge of hockey, but that's not the main focus. I really liked this book. The main characters were interesting and fun. Daisy, a baby gets dropped at Jonah's place! What does he know about babies. Jonah's best friend Zander saves the day by calling his sister, Quinn. Quinn gets things organized. I liked the no nonsense of Quinn, and Jonah's flexibility and acknowledgement that the baby could be his! It's a fun, fast paced ride! Very enjoyable story. I think most romance readers would enjoy. I rate it 4 stars.

Great romance and character changes that come from surprising life events. Story made for a quick read and some surprises await the reader toward the end of the book. "A copy of this book was provided by Kobo Writing Life via Netgalley with no requirements for a review. Comments here are my honest opinion."

A quick, sexy read with some instantly lovable characters. There's just a dash of hockey, but enough to establish Jonah's alpha nature as well as push the plot forward, tempered by his soft, gooey, romantic side. I'd like to have seen more of Zander, the heroine Quinn's brother, throughout, but when he was there he was an absolute delight. One thing that bothered me was figuring out where exactly Quinn and Jonah's relationship started; at times, the story seemed to set them up as hate-to-love, where they legitimately disliked each other for years, but most other times, they were pretty firmly established as childhood friends, with Quinn off-limits as his best friend's younger sister. Their dynamic was a little confusing as a result. All in all, a sweet and sexy read that definitely scratches the ready-made family itch.

The things that go through Jonah's mind, “hey, you’re here helping me, you can have and use anything you want. I mean anything.” You can even use my body if you’re so inclined." Joanh likes to be inappropriate at times, "I laugh, hard. “You looking for something to blow?” I tease..." I loved this book, I fell in love with Jonah.

The story had great potential - a hockey star gets an unexpected surprise of being a father to a 4 month old baby girl. But, I found parts of the plot to be unrealistic. Why didn't Jonah immediately get a paternity test? I kept thinking that would happen, but it didn't until near the end of the book. To be honest, there was a little too much sex for my taste. It seemed that 90% of the story was about Quinn and Jonah having sex. It overshadowed the things that could have made the story better - add in more details about the mistakes that the new dad was making - that could have been very humorous. Those things were rushed or glossed over in favor of all the bedroom scenes.

What an emotional book!

Jonah wakes up one morning to a major hangover and finding out he is a dad!! This is a man who didn't have baby's on the brain for years to come. He is a major playboy. Now he needs to step up and be a dad. Luckily for him, his best friends sister is amazing with kids. Jonah has secretly loved Quinn for years but the bro code has prevented anything from coming from that.

I really liked Quinn in this book. She has also loved Jonah since she was a girl but kept it secret. In order to hide her attraction, she is always yelling at him. However when he finds out he is a dad, she steps in to show him the ropes and ensure that Daisy is taken care of properly.

The part I loved about this book was you got to watch a boy become a man and do right by his daughter. Even after everything is straightened out, he is a better man for it.

This is Jonah and Quinn book, Jonah is a Hotshot hockey player and Quinn is his best friends little sister. Right in the beginning of the story a puck bunny shows up on Jonah doorstep with a baby! She says she can't take it and leaves the baby with Jonah and says it's his! Jonah gets Quinn to help him with the baby and the story goes on from there! This was an ok read not the best I've read but not the worst either. It was a little unbelievable at some parts, I'm not sure why the first thing you wouldn't do is a paternity test?! Just saying lol like I said not a bad read but just ok! I'll definitely read the next in the series! Thank you Netgalley and the publishers for sharing this book with me!

This was a really fun story. It looks to be book 3 in a series and I have not read this series or author before but I loved it so much. I cannot wait for book 4.
It stars three main characters:
Jonah - the best friend and manwhore
Quinn- the best friends little sister
Zander- the best friend and older brother of Quinn
Daisy - the 4 month old baby dropped off at Jonah's

When J signs a huge contract and they win the series he and his team have a big party at his place. He wakes up to knocking at the door and he sees the hockey bunny, Shari who claims he is her daughters baby daddy and drops her off.

Jonah takes it as if it is true. No dna test is done. He knows nothing about children and Zander knows nothing but they know Q will know what to do as she works at a daycare. She essentially moves in right away to help out.
J and Q are in lust and so things happen and they sorta become a family but Quinn doesn't want marriage and gfamily and J is a big manwhore. What happens when Shari decides she wants her baby back? Well I am not spoiling that...

This was a fun read but I felt it was silly that no one speaks of a dna test at all to confirm anything.

Jonah discovers he’s a daddy when a fling shows up on his doorstep and claims he has a daughter named Daisy. And this all happens before he’s had coffee and with his best friend and a houseful of his teammates behind him! Panicking at the thought of a mini human being he doesn’t know how to care for, his best friend Zander calls his little sister Quinn to help out. Quinn, the one woman who Jonah could picture settling down with...but there’s the little issue of the bro code with Zander and Quinn’s seeming dislike for Jonah. What a guy supposed to do?

What a cute and super hot read! The cutes-Daisy was an adorable girl with typical infant behavior to include sleepless nights, dirty diapers, and projectile vomit (bless you Cathryn for not shirking on the reality of four month olds!) now the hot part-Jonah and Quinn had enough chemistry to start a five alarm fire! A bit of bossy in the bedroom gets Quinn’s girly parts revving and Jonah is just the man to deliver. It doesn’t hurt they both have unrequited feelings for each other that everyone in the world is aware of! Except of course the two people it matters most to. No hockey was actually played, but the spicy bits make up for the oversight :)

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
