When we left Lucy and Justin, they were in some real trouble with her boss attacking her and Justin’s old girlfriend accusing him of attacking her. Things didn’t look so good except their trust in one another and their connection to the Varangian Cross. In the final book she starts with a glimpse into the final scenes of the Varangian Cross star crossed lovers, then switches to us watching Lucy and Justin navigate their legal and personal battles with the people around them. When everything gets cleaned up and they survive their final difficulties to just be together, they go back to Santorini and we get the last chapter in the Varangian Cross story. It is a doozy and I didn’t see that coming. I had other ideas of why the star crossed lovers were separated and the cross was found where it was. Kate gave us a good twist to the story near the end.

Although I loved this couple’s story there are a few issues I found overall with it. First, I never felt the emotional connection Justin had with Lucy in the first two books, like she describes it in this last one. There seems to be something missing. It seemed like he was just an obsessed lover in books 1&2. I also wasn’t fond of having to re-read the whole prologue of the star crossed lovers in the final book. I felt like that was a waste of time since this series can’t be read as stand alone novels, but must be read in order. Also, I felt the story could have ended a little before it did. It seemed to drag at the end and the erotic sex scenes didn’t really add to the story.

This is the third book in the indigo book trilogy. I highly recommend reading all the books in order!!!

On the beautiful Greek island of Santorini, Justin and Lucy consult with Sophia, an elderly woman who is gifted in ways beyond the present and physical. What they learn is helpful but incomplete. The story of their past is hidden deeply within the Varangian Cross, and Sophia must have it to fully understand the connection that Justin and Lucy share. However, the cross is with its new owner in London and far too valuable to be loaned out for such an implausible tale.

Disappointed, they prepare to return to London and confront the challenges from which they fled, resigned to leave the past behind, but the struggles of the past seem determined to revisit them.

Great ending to the trilogy!! Loved the characters and would love to read more!!

Third times a charm. A little ambiguous...will there be another book!? Guess we will find out what happens with the couple that I’ve been following since the first book.

You need to read the books in order to know what’s going on...do not read out of order.

Thanks to the publisher and author and Netgalley for the ARC for a honest review.

Oh my gosh! I loved this series! Whilst it started off a little rocky it has ended on a wonderful note! The conclusion sees Lucy and Justin struggle to understand their past and their connection to the cross.
The efforts of Sophia lend a different dimension to the story, and more confusion and questions for the couple.
Fantastic conclusion, not to be missed!

** spoiler alert **

Once again my favorite part of this book was the prologue. I felt that's where the true story was. I devoured that part. But, once I got to chapter 1. I was just not feeling it at all. I kept thinking. This story line could’ve been so different if only we focused on the main characters and their past lives. That would’ve been a kick ass story!

Instead we get crazy ex Rachel drama that has been going on since book 1! We get Russian mob drama! Crazy Edward drama! And art theft! And kidnapping!
And that’s not even from the past lives story line! That’s all recent stuff!
With little sprinkles of Justin and Lucy dealing with their past lives. Just to give you a little hope.

This series went off the rails. I don’t even know what to think. I’ve hit my breaking point with this book already.
You have to wait until 75% to finally get to the meat of this story. The true reason why this series got my attention in the first place. I just wished that the whole series could’ve been just Stefano And Francesca and Lucy and Justin. All the other stuff was just not for me.

This series is a case of good covers and good synopsis. But the books don’t live up to them. The synopsis are very misleading in my opinion.

Overall... this series wasn’t for me.

Always with You is the third book in the Indigo series by Kate McBrien. It can not be read as a standalone. I don’t want to spoil the conclusion so I will make this fast.

Justin and Lucy need to know about their past lives. They know they are connected in some way but need to know the whole story before they can move on with their future. There first stop is to Sophia, a woman who could help them with their journey. And what she tells them is not easy on them. A warning that they will have many difficulties.

Difficulties is an understatement. These two have many obstacles to overcome. Hit after hit. Through it all they always have love. I could feel it throughout their journey to discover the past.

Overall...it was a great conclusion to the series. Lots of twists. Sexy times. And romance.

Quotes:

“I fell in love not only with a beautiful woman, but a fierce warrior.”

“Tomorrow is about uncovering our past, but tonight I want to focus on our present. Dance with me.”

“They’re not the Grateful Dead, mind you, but they’ve got some cool tunes.”

Am amazing finale to a captivating story, but it was not going to be easily revealed. Julian and Lucy have to go through more trials and separations in their present lives in order to learn about their past lives. Many people come between them trying to break them apart but still they keep their strength and resolve to be together forever.

Julian and Lucy finally find out what happened to them in the past and why the cross has such affects them so much. Though I knew the ending was was going to be tragic this was not what I expected. The ending was even more memorable as some of it is reflected in the present when Lucy has to escape from Edward's brutal attack on her.

It would have been interesting to see if any of the characters in the present day were reincarnations of people in the historical story especially the stronger ones such as Edward (as Zeno), Vivian who comes out of nowhere to help Lucy, Rachel who tries to tear them apart while living in her own terror, and of course Beatrice.

Thank you for an unforgettable story Kate, I am looking forward to reading your next book.

This was a book that just wasn't for me. From page one I struggled reading it. Not my thing. This was more historical romance for me.

Always With You is the third book in the Indigo Trilogy and continues the story of Lucy and Justin.

Just like the other books, Always With You started with a prologue and then we have Lucy and Justin’s story. When I fist read the prologue, I thought it was a bit odd that we didn’t really have an ending for the prologue’s main characters, but later on in the book, I figured out why.

Lucy and Justin are trying to find out their past and while we did get to know their past, I think the author made a huge mistake. Kate McBrien literally used the prologues and then wrote the ending for the prologues. She just copied and pasted the prologues from book 1–3… I mean I get that for people that didn’t binge read this trilogy, the sentences might not seem familiar, but for me they did. I just skipped those pages until the part I hadn’t read yet.

Something that was also a bit odd was that there was a bondage scene. It was like the author wanted to try and write BDSM but she failed miserably. It felt really forced and weird. It was like the author threw some things in the book but never really did something with those things.

But besides these two points, I still enjoyed Always With You. I liked that the characters got to know their past and that they got their HEA.

To be honest, this wasn’t the best trilogy I’ve ever read, but I still think that this story is different and interesting. I still recommend this trilogy because besides the writing, the story is really good!

Always With You, Indigo: Book 3, Kate McBrien

Genre: Romance

Well, a very climatic, drama filled finish to the trilogy. TBH it felt – cough- a little too drama filled. I love action, intensity and drama but there was so much here that I felt it became almost wearying to the senses, took away from the actual events. Having said that its still and amazing read, and a fabulous trilogy for a debut writer. Very well written, full of excellent plots and very polished overall.

Lucy; at times I want to say to her “what are you doing!!” when she dithers. She's grown in confidence though, and there's a lot less of that in this final part. Justin, well, he's just fabulous, so very solid in his love, so very protective and I enjoyed how the past events affected him in this life. I loved Lucy and Justin together, but did feel they got a little lost in the other events that filled this story. Sometimes Less is More, and for me less additional plots ( the Russian connection) and more of Lucy and Justin would have worked better. That's just me though, others will love it as it is.
Edward...Gah, I hate that guy, but I love characters like his. He played a terrific part in the story, very believable. I wasn't so convinced on the Rachel story-line, especially with how things ended. I disliked her intensely, didn't want to change my stance on that and though events could have proved otherwise I'm holding fast to my dislike ;-)

I would have liked to have seen a bit more connection between Justin and Lucy's nightmares and the past, maybe snippets of what they were dreaming or something? The past in each book is really kept to just beginning and end, which makes for a wonderful ending, where we see just what did play out, but I'd have enjoyed a bit more linking through the story.

I love the way the Cross links past and present Justin and Lucy, and how its creation from Love held fast, and meant so much to them when they touched in in the present. I enjoyed the history, past and present story of Lapis Lazuli and the issues behind it. Everyone has heard of Blood diamonds, but I'd never connected this stone with terrorism financing.

From the book blurb, and important. Note to readers: This book contains scenes which may be triggering to survivors of sexual violence

Stars: Four and a half, a great trilogy, but I wasn't quite as gripped by this part as by parts one and two, especially part one, which I loved.

This has been my favorite trilogy I've ever read. I can't wait to read more by Kate McBrien. She makes you feel as if you are the characters. That's how good this trilogy is. I highly recommend it.

Having read the first two books in this trilogy I was desperate to read the final book and it did not disappoint. Justin & Lucy explore further their 'history' in previous lives and it is sad and fascinating. I never thought I would read a book with this theme however I enjoyed it very much and it wasn't too full on either.

The trouble and strife they face in the present day is quite hard going and I like how Lucy stands up for herself in these tense moments.

The author has obviously planned out majority of the story threads across the trilogy therefore making this very engaging and believable.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading about Justin and Lucy and I will look out for other books by Kate McBrien who has made me want to go visit a art gallery and museum now!

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the advanced copy of the book in exchange for a honest review.

Always With You is the conclusion to the Indigo Trilogy and should not be read as a standalone. I enjoyed this story and trilogy, Lucy and Justin are wonderful characters and I enjoyed the coming together of the complete story with the cross. I look forward to trying more by this author

Just WOW! I loved this final book and the whole trilogy. Justin and Lucy are superb and the flashbacks, as heartbreaking as they were, really made the entire story come alive. Absolutely loved it.

***ARC received in exchange of an honest opinion***

Overall, I really enjoyed this trilogy, specially the history and art aspects to it, since I'm a huge history and art history buff.

I liked how the trilogy was concluded with Always With You, but I dare say I was expecting a bit more, specially since the first book impressed me a lot. I feel like throughout the last two installments the story lost a bit of its appeal to me and the connection between thr two main characters, Lucy and Justin, took a secondary role in the story.

Don't get me wrong, I still enjoyed the story and this final book, but it also made me a bit more critical and I feel a lot was left unsaid and unexplored. Also I feel like a few things were thrown in the story and were just left there (like the small bondage experiment in this book - from the previous books we have a few hints Justin was into that I expected it to be more explored, due to the focus it was given to it).

The Edward thing was also not explored as much and rushed in my opinion. Many other characters secondary stories and roles could have been more explored in my opinion too.

I liked the cross story and it wa very intense when the mystery around it was uncovered (a particular scene made me wanttopunch some people in the face!!).

I feel like the story was a bit rushed to be concluded so it might be why I didn't connect as much to it as I did in the previous books (specially the first one).

I still recommend all three books. This triloy was interesting and different and the writing was good. Whenever I find "different" plotlines with writing to back them out I'll recommend them and I was glad I found and read this trilogy.
