I’m a little embarrassed by how excited I am about a weaving book. I’ve taken an online weaving course by the author so I’m already familiar with her approachable teaching style and her inspiring creations. I was a little nervous that her teaching wouldn’t translate as well in book format, but I didn’t need to be. This book is as lovely as expected and the content is comprehensive, inspiring, and readable. This is my favorite weaving book to date.

Absolutely loved reading through this book! I'm an avid crafter and always wanting to find new crafty things to do, especially since I work at a craft shop. Weaving is one of those things that I've picked up recently but all I've done are small circular weaves with a variety of left bits of wool, twine, string, etc. They do look good but I'd love to challenge myself to do something worthy of hanging on my wall. This book has given me that boost to get myself a proper rectangular loom (I might actually try making myself one) and have a go at something more intricate and planned out. I never knew there was so much terminology and for someone just starting out, this is definitely what I needed. Looking forward to treating myself to some new tools and having a go at some of these designs. Side note: the aesthetic of the photos is on point. I love the minimalist instagram kind of vibe going on. Feeling so inspired and excited to start some more weaving!

This is a great introduction to weaving. Most of the projects are wall hangings so this may not be the best fit for all beginning weavers but this is a good way to start before jumping in and buying a more expensive loom.

Thank you to Schiffer Publishing Ltd. and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for my honest review.

Lindsey Campbell has created the perfect primer for beginning tapestry weaving. How to build your first loom, shopping for a loom, materials, techniques, tips, samplers and project idea are included. Campbell talks about finding your own style of weaving and getting inspired to create. She is a wonderful teacher.

This is an absolutely fabulous book, not only is it well illustrated but the information and multitude of project demonstrated are just very inspiring. The Projects are very modern, whilst solid in weaving technique. By the time you have read the book and done some projects, you will be well on the way of creating your own designs and ready to experiment, giving expression to your own imagination. A book that will satisfy both beginners and experienced weavers.

This is a beautiful book with a lot of great information for the beginner weaver. The attention to detail is exquisite. The instructions are easy to follow and Lindsey also goes into details like the anatomy of the loom and different tools and materials that is incredibly helpful. The photographs are beautiful, and the different projects and weavings are creative and fun. While I didn't learn anything new given I've been weaving for sometime, I did find a lot of inspiration from the book and I think it is perfect for the novice weaver. I look forward to her next book for the more intermediate weaver.

A treat of a weaving book! The title may be a little misleading though. The book explains a lot of weaving terms and basics but focused mostly on. weaving wall hangings in a modern style. This. isn’t a bad thing, in fact I welcome that but if bought as a present it may not be exactly right for. everyone..

The ideas are. very fresh and. appealing so I tried out a couple with success.

Illustrations are. gorgeous, colourful and helpful.

Do try weaving small hangings, they are fast and rewarding and make lovely gifts. Using. unusual things as a. loom, once tried one begins seeing endless possibilities.

I love this book. Manny thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for allowing me to read it in exchange for an honest review.

Welcome to Weaving is a wonderful book for readers interested in picking up the skill or advancing their techniques. I found several new ideas that I can’t wait to try. This is a book to keep as a great reference tool.

This is an extensive handbook for the beginning weaver that you'll keep by your loom for a long time as a reference. Although there are several charming projects, the heart of the book is the many illustrated instructions for basic & intermediate techniques.

What elevates these instructions is how thoughtfully and clearly they are done. The technique is broken down into steps that are easy to follow. In addition the steps are accompanied by clear pictures, making the described steps clear. What I loved about the photos was that Campbell used a contrasting color of yarn to show you the technique in most cases. This makes it so easy to understand what's happening.

All these techniques and most of the projects can be done on a simple frame loom and she includes instructions on making your own. But they are equally adaptable to other beginner looms, such as rigid heddles.

It should be on every beginning weaver's shelf.

So excited to get this weaving book. What a great source for stitches, materials, and making your own small frame loom! I have always wanted to weave on a branch and here are the instructions. My daughter has pestered me for years to weave her a wall hanging. No she will get on for sure. I received an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley and would like to thank them and the author and publisher. Will treasure this book for a very long time and so will you.

I so enjoyed weaved as a kid! As an adult I taught very, very basic weaving to my daughter, my Girl Scout troop, and kids at my library. But never pursued it further beyond simple stuff. Well, I'm finally all grown up and getting ready to retire! I'd love to pursue this art form further and this book may well provide the inspiration! Thankfully, Lindsey Campbell starts at the beginning. How to work a loom, best ones to purchase and why, materials to use, and tools needed. I like the photos of each step in showing techniques.! Very helpful. There are a few projects in the book to get the readers started. It has loads of photos, which I always appreciate in how-to books.
