Sophie spotted a stranger person lurking where he wasn't supposed to and ends up getting kidnapped. Thankfully she managed to get away but now she knows that he boss is mission and will do anything she can to make sure hes okay. But the deeper they go into finding the person the more they notice shes in danger with a couple close attempts NYPD officer Luke and his k-9 partner will do everything they can to make sure that she is safe.

I seems that anyone Sophie cares for is truly lucky she will do everything she can to make sure they are safe and cared for. That goes for her boss even after her kidnapping attempt where she wanted to do everything she can to make sure others know her boss was missing. You can just see that she was a genuine loyal character which I really loved about her character. As for the mystery suspense aspect I liked how it was handled, I wanted to know who was behind everything, why he wanted to get hold of her so much and why this was even happening. I liked the romance it was a nice little touch wasn't overpowering the book which I appreciate, I mean shes getting a few attempts at her life its no time for romance when a killer seems to be after her. Overall it was a really good book I really enjoyed it.

As personal assistant to Chief of Police - K-9 Unit, Jordan Jameson, Sophie Walters' duties included setting up for the graduation ceremony of their K-9 officers and their handlers. When she catches a man messing with the folder containing Jordan's remarks, she immediately questions his presence. When he responds by taking her captive, she fights with all she has to stay out of his car, and in the process, captures fellow officer, Luke Hathaway's attention.

Arriving a bit early for the K-9 graduation, Luke is stunned to see Sophie being dragged from the auditorium into a waiting vehicle. He rushes to her aid, only to chase the car into crashing. His presence is the only thing that makes the kidnapper flee, leaving Sophie injured, but alive. When she explains what happened, his suspicions mount. Going back to the auditorium, they check the folder, and discover what appears to be a suicide note, written in Jordan's hand. No one who knows him, believes he would do that, and Sophie knows another secret that makes it an impossibility in her mind. Can they find Jordan before someone makes the note come true?

Following some suspicious near misses, it becomes clear that Sophie, herself, is also in danger. Can Luke and his dog, Bruno, keep her safe from the menace stalking her?

What a great start to the True Blue K-9 Unit continuation series! I am a fan of Lynette Eason's and read everything I can get my hands on that she has written. Her suspense is always gripping, and the romance is usually strong.

Romantic suspense readers can never go wrong picking up an Eason book, in my opinion, and Justice Mission is a strong case for that. I definitely recommend this Love Inspired Suspense title!

I am a lover of dogs, and this is an author I have always enjoyed reading.
With non-stop action and a lot of attempted murders, some answers come, but be aware this book becomes a cliff hanger, and although I have my guess to whom the culprit is, you won’t have the ending you have been looking forward to.
With dogs everywhere, wonderful animals, and more arriving, they have their work cut out for them, and one is missing!
The story has a bit of sweet romance, but the grief is almost over whelming here.
There are more books to come in this K-9 series, and then all will be revealed.

I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Harlequin, and was not required to give a positive review.

Who are Luke, Bruno, and Sophie? Where are they from? What types of jobs do each of them do? What is going on at the location they just arrived at? There is a lot of suspense in this book along with mystery. Who gets murdered? Who keeps getting an attempt on their life? The mystery of this story is truly who is behind it. Will we find out? On a lighter note, there is a crazy-happy budding romance starting! Also, a new player, so to speak with Stella. What is special about her? Enjoy the read! I know I did and now I want to read more books in the series!

Romantic suspense is another favorite genre of mine. I love the action that compels the plot. I love that the romance brings a bit of humanity and feeling to suspenseful and often criminal situations. When a romantic suspense novel is also by a Christian writer, I know that I am going to learn something about my own faith while reading. Justice mission is all of that and more, and by more, I mean dogs!

I am a dog lover. Whole hearted, devoted, canine enthusiast. I watch funny dog videos, laugh at memes, and follow doggo twitter/IG accounts. When you add a dog to a story, I am thrilled. Sometimes I like the canine characters better than the book characters, but that just shows my love for our furry friends. My point is, this series has it all for me.

The plot is paced very well, and I was always interested and never bored. The characters were explored well without spending too much time going into exhaustive detail. Everyone involved had flaws and fears that are easily identifiable and relatable for the reader. Loved seeing the vulnerability of each person and how they reacted to stressful and scary situations. Sophie and Luke’s reactions seemed genuine throughout.

My only criticism would be the ending. Without giving too much away, I think I would have preferred the ending to have happened later in the series. I needed more development before that plot point occurred, but I also definitely wanted this to be the inevitable outcome.

Overall, great read, and the dogs were my stars.

Wowza! What a fabulous start to the True Blue K-9 Unit series! If you know me at all then you know that Lynette Eason is one of my all time favorite authors, so it goes without saying that as soon as I heard about this book I immediately added it to my wish list! Justice Mission drew me in from the first page and I hated to stop reading it. I immediately liked Luke and Sophie, I really appreciated that they were flawed and realistic characters who were both very kind and never stopped putting others ahead of themselves. I also loved Luke's bond with his K-9 Bruno, it was obvious how much they loved each other, and all the moments when Bruno seemed to be trying to communicate with Luke through his body language and facial expressions were spot on and so much fun to read about! I love that this series is following NYPD K-9 Officers, and can't wait to read the next book in the series!
Overall, I loved this book so much! It's one of my very favorites of Lynette's Love Inspired Suspense titles! I highly recommend Justice Mission, it's going on my keeper shelf, and I definitely envision that I will be reading it again in the future!

I received an ebook copy of this book from the publisher which did not influence my review in any way. All thoughts and opinions are one hundred percent my own.

Justice Mission is the first in a new Love Inspired Suspense series. It introduces the K-9 Unit. I'm a sucker for police dog stories, so I eagerly dove in. The book is a quick and fast paced read. The nice thing about these books is that they can be read in one or two sittings. For the most part, I enjoyed it. My only complaint is that the ending left some things unresolved. I think it will be an overall arc over the series, if I understand correctly. I liked the characters and the romance. Sophie and Luke's romance was sweet. If you are looking for a quick clean romantic suspense book, I do recommend this one.

I am always impressed with Love Inspired's Suspense line, but never as much as when I read Justice Mission. There was something about this story that really grabbed me.

Sophie is kidnapped before the K-9 graduation and her boss, Jordan Jameson is missing. That's a lot of excitement to start a book on.

Sophie was such a great heroine. I loved her devotion both to the NYPD and to her own family. I really identified with her when it came to her feelings for her family. I also liked that she wasn't perfect. A heroine with a learning disability is definitely something unique in romance. I liked that she overcame that too.

Luke was also fabulous, though his misguided feelings of inadequacy when it came to love were a bit far-fetched for me. That didn't stop me from loving him, especially in his desire to keep Sophie safe, when it became obvious someone was after her too.

I wish the love that was blossoming between the two would have taken up more of the story, because this is a series where the mystery isn't going to be completely solved, so with all the unanswered questions that are left, I would have liked a more solid romance between these two.

The mystery however was very front and center and gripping, as well. This was a story that had me on the edge of my seat, wondering about the kidnapper and the killer and a host of other things. Oh and the dog!! Seriously for me, the reason to keep reading is to find out what might have happened to Jordan's police dog.

I can't wait to continue on with this series!

This is another fabulous book by Lynette Eason. From the first few pages, the action and suspense continued to build. There’s a romantic storyline between Sophie and Luke that develops over the course of the book. The Jameson family members go through a unthinkable tragedy, but their mystery goes unsolved in this book. I’ll be looking forward to continuing the drama and suspense in the next book of this series.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.

Oh my word. This book was so good and a roller-coaster of emotions. I laughed, cried and at one point wanted to throw the book (e-reader). The author did a wonderful job of using emotion and getting you to love the characters. Sophie is a wonderful character. She is so determined and innocent, yet smart and fearless.

Luke was a good, if stubborn, character. He has past hurts that color his view on life. The other characters are just as good and I cannot wait to see what happens next with this group. There are still unanswered questions that I must know the answer to, but I'm happy with the ending of this one.

It was a 5/5 for me.

Thank you to the publisher for the review copy of this book via Netgalley. I received this book in exchange for an honest review and the opinions stated above are 100% mine.

Justice Mission by Lynette Eason is the first book in the True Blue K-9 Unit series. The book starts with an action packed opening scene. Sophie’s boss is missing and she walks in on a suspisious stranger who ends up trying to kidnap her.
Luke is one of the K-9 officers and is protecting Sophie while also trying to figure out what is going on. Has their boss committed suicide, has he ran off or has he been kidnapped?
Several of his relatives are involved in the search and you are not sure if they are involved. His wife just found out she is pregnant. The action and suspense were well done.
The relationship between Luke and Sophia developed naturally. Luke had always assumed she was too young for him so he had not given her much notice. As he gets to know her their feelings start developing for each other.
I enjoyed the romance and suspense. I am thrilled to see the next books in the series.

I received this book from Netgalley. I was not required to write a positive review.

The dog on the front cover and the description had me looking forward to a canine crime-solving caper, but this book isn't really about the K-9 members of the police force. It's more about Sophia, who works for Jordan, the fantastic guy who heads up the K-9 force. When Jordan goes missing and Sophie gets kidnapped, the action keeps rolling. Bullets are dodged. The stalker keeps getting away. Luke takes it upon himself to keep Sophie safe, and when he starts falling for her, he worries he's too old for her, while she worries she can't start a relationship with anyone because her dad and brother need her. You can guess how that pans out.

The best scene in the novel was the funeral for a slain officer. The pain and injustice and profound sense of loss come across clearly, without any distracting inner monologues from Sophie or Luke.

The rest of the novel would have been better if the author employed Deep POV (Point of view) instead of relying so much on the noticed, wondered, felt, etc, words. I never felt at one with Luke or Sophie. Instead of a slow burn as they discover their attraction to each other, we watch them tiptoe around that little fire. To me there seemed to be not a lot of chemistry. Compatibility, yes. Irresistible attraction, not so much.

The villain is not identified or apprehended by novel's end, and I can hear the one-star bandits now, complaining they'd have to buy the next book to see whodunnit; one star!

Astute readers, however, will know exactly who the villain is.

Lynette Eason shows a solid knowledge of police procedure and personalities, but for me, this story just didn't pull me in and make me care. Fans of the genre will likely love this story, but I care more about a fresh, original voice and quirky characters, less about how fast-paced and full of bullets and action. That's just me.

"Justice Mission" is a romantic suspense novel. It appears that this series will have a ongoing murder that they're trying to solve since the murder case was still open at the end of this novel. Sophie witnesses a stranger putting something on the podium right before the NYPD K-9 graduation. When she asks what he's doing, he grabs her as a hostage. She manages to get free, but the man is intent on killing her from that point forward. Luke is a police officer with a cadaver detection dog, so obviously he finds a body. He's also determined to be Sophie's bodyguard until they stop the man who is after her.

While the story was suspenseful due to the urgent search for a missing man and the danger to Sophie and Luke, some parts didn't seem realistic to me. For example, they had access to ballistic vests yet no one gave one to Sophie. Luke simply used his body as a shield. (Bullets can go through people, and we're not told that he's wearing a ballistic vest, so I wondered just how useful and how safe he was each time he did this maneuver.)

Sophie and Luke are kind, caring people and competent at their jobs. I understood why they were attracted to each other, though the romance was rushed. They barely knew each other at the beginning of the story and fell in love over a matter of days, ending with a marriage proposal. There was no sex or bad language. Overall, I'd recommend this suspense novel to fans of K-9 stories.
