4 1/2 STARS!

A heart-string pulling dynamo! With the next book in the Yoxburgh Park Hospital series which just happens to be Caroline Anderson's 100th book, she decided to go back to where it all began and have the child of her first ever hero and heroine be the heroine of this story. It's always super cool to reconnect with characters you've seen before, so I applaud the set up whole-heartedly! The characters both had an intriguing back story that nabbed my attention quickly and had me rooting for them to make it work from the start. Throw in some adorable kiddos and this was my cup of tea for sure. A really good read!

Trauma doctor Livvy Henderson has made peace with the fact that her life didn't follow the path of starting the family she always dreamed of. She is happy to be achieving her five year cancer free mark and enjoying her career, but connecting with a fellow doctor on a weekend away for team building starts to make her wonder "what if".

Surgeon Matt Hunter has living his share of heartbreak by being widowed and left with two young children to raise on his own. He can't deny he's attracted to Livvy, but does he have anything to offer her after basically shutting down for the last couple of years? Can he find the strength to put his heart on the line again?

An enjoyable book with engaging characters. The British terminology took a little adjusting to, but not so much that it was disruptive to the story. I would recommend this author.

Livvy Henderson has been cancer free for five years and is enjoying life to the full. She just may have beaten cancer and just might be able to move on with her life. As happy as she is about it, however, she is reluctant to let many people know of her long battle. She is currently engaging in a serious competition and would feel really vindicated if she wins the trophy at hand. However, she is met with a serious accident when she plummets off a cliff and lands on some very sharp rocks.

When Livvy is rescued by fellow competitor Matt Hunter, the attraction between them is instant. Despite the strong pull she feels towards him, Livvy is quite reticent due to her past. Meanwhile, Matt is a single dad of two, and he certainly is not looking for anyone in his life either. Not only is Matt a busy father, he is an accomplished trauma surgeon, so there is no time in his life, even for the beautiful Livvy.

This book develops into a sensitive and very well-done love story. As barriers are broken down between Matt and Livvy, there is also a beautiful relationship blossoming between Livvy and the children. This delightful book worked on all levels and was quite an emotional read. Having not read anything by Caroline Anderson before, this was an wonderful way to be introduced to her excellent writing.

Many thanks to Harlequin and to NetGalley for this ARC to review in exchange for my honest opinion.

Livvy has been cancer free for five years and is good with how her life is, that is until she meets Matt Hunter during an accident that left him helping her out. They both have an instant connection and both want to pursue something more but Livvy can't help but want to keep her distance because of her brush with cancer.

I thought that this was a good book. I loved the romance between the two, the connection was undeniable and readers all around can't help but root for the two. Its understandable why she would have built a wall after what she went though, and she still runs the risk of it returning and shes worried how things would play out if she forms a relationship with Matt and his two kids. Theres not much to say about this book that wont ruin it but it was a enjoyable contemporary romance I really enjoyed it.

Single Dads are my catnip—one who’s a doctor is an even bigger bonus—and Caroline Anderson confirms why I’m glad I recently discovered her as she brings us a romance which socks a punch to your heart for so many reasons.

“...since I met you I feel I’ve come out of the shadows and into the light again...”

If there are two people who deserve the happiest of ever afters, it’s Matt and Livvy and you’d have to be a little bit dead inside not to be moved by what they have experienced. I cheered this couple on from the start, shared their ups and downs, fell in love with Matt and his kids and having discovered that Livvy is the daughter of Anderson’s first ever hero and heroine, I’m off to grab myself her parent’s romance and rewind 29 years to find out how it all began.
