Ok. I've recovered.

Viktor and Rozalia’s story was fantastic😍! These two had so many of the characteristics that I'm always looking for in my next “One Night With Consequences” read!

This is a surprise pregnancy story, and I am very picky about what I enjoy in this trope. Mostly it henges on the hero for me. He can F* it up real quick! I was nervous about Viktor’s character. Being Mr. Dark & Broody, I never knew what to expect from him. I wasn't sure how far he would take his alpha-assholeness, and use it against Rozi. It had me on pins and needles. He was a jerk who said and did the wrong things in the beginning, but by the end his heartfelt love for Rozi was everything!

Rozi was just a bonus for me. She was such a cool character, and I loved everything about our heroine. She is on Viktor’s mansion’s doorstep, looking for a family heirloom bestowed to her grandmother. Her sweetness, innocence, and intelligence draws Viktor in like “White on Rice. As the story progresses, her character grows and evolves into something stronger. There were several times in this book she proves that she doesn’t need a man, and won’t settle for anything less than LOVE in a relationship! What made her even better was how mature and strong her character was. Love her and her strong heartfelt comebacks to Viktor’s entitledness.

I enjoyed this book so much, heartbreak and all! The character growth and pain were well worth it for THAT HEA! I'm hoping Dani Collins writes Gisella Drummond’s (the cousin) story as well. With stories like this, who wouldn’t want more? I wouldn't mind seeing more of Viktor and Rozi if she was to write the cousin’s book.

When Rozalia Toth travels to Hungary in search of a lost family heirloom, she expects some push-back from the people who are holding it. She doesn't expect to encounter Viktor Rohan, or to have such a strong reaction to him. As passion explodes, Viktor is stunned to find her completely inexperienced. When he realizes that he could very well have made her pregnant, he informs her that if she is, they will marry.

I liked Rozi in this story. She's independent enough to give Viktor a run for his money, and her upbringing was so nurturing, that she is able to bring some much-needed humanness to his life.

Readers who enjoy their romance with a touch of spice, and some pretty alpha guys, will enjoy this one.

Innocent's Nine-Month Scandal by Dani Collins is the story of Viktor Rohan and Rozalia Toth.
Rozalia and her cousin are trying to locate earrings that their grandmother used to have. While her cousin is looking for them on one of their leads, Rozalia is checking on Viktor Rohan lead. This puts her at his door where sparks fly, but Viktor is a non trusting person who stays to himself. Viktor knows there is something more to Rozalia but when something is left from their encounter is more than memories he goes forward to claim what is his.

No, seriously, at first it was a so so read, but the further you travel into the story you are caught. Then your emotions are caught then the tears may start. Rozalia and her cousin are both searching for the two earrings her grandmother’s fiancee gave to her just before he died, but which she had sold because she was a destitute single mother. Rozi’s search takes her to the fiancee’s family’s home, where she meets her cousin’s blood relatives, including a cynical and suspicious Viktor. But Rozi’s sunny personality and unconventional thinking throws a wrench in Viktor’s cold, predictable life, and their instant attraction to each other causes them to spend an impulsive night together. There is also some confusion about the earrings, because Viktor’s family insists that Rozi’s grandmother stole them.

The chemistry between the hero and heroine in this book is steamy, which for me made it entirely believable that they’d end up in the situation they do. The mystery about the earrings is also very intriguing and kept me reading to find out the truth.

I had a hard time getting into the book at first—it started off a bit slow for my taste. But after their explosive time together, the story picked up as more and more things happened between them. The hero was sometimes a jerk, but he always apologized when he was later able to realize his error, and his flaws made him more empathetic for me. At times the heroine was a bit too naive and romantic with her head in the clouds for my taste, but she was a very good fit for the hero’s cold and unimaginative personality, and the reason why each is the way they are was a very emotional and poignant part of the backstory that is revealed later.

I finished this book extremely satisfied with the ending and was very entertained by the story.

Thanks to Netgalley and Harlequin for this e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Rozi Toth arrives in Budapest on her quest for a family heirloom, her grandmother's earrings which she had to sell to get out of Nazi controlled Budapest. Viktor Rohan is a billionaire with no room for sentiment. Yet he finds Rozi surprisingly attractive and opens the door to her quest by introducing her to his grandmother. The disappearance of the earrings lands Rozi into jail until the truth is sorted out and then of course the typical sophisticated billionaire and one night with a virgin ends in a surprise pregnancy. Can their marriage survive Viktor's insane paranoia about being taken advantage of?
I enjoy these light hearted harlequin romances that are true escapes from a busy humdrum day. I'm always tongue in cheek about the typical formula which works since I certainly continue to buy and read these escapes.

I love to get lost in Harlequin romances. They are quick, sexy, steamy reads with a bit of angst. In Innocent’s Nine-Month Scandal by Dani Collins we get a surprise pregnancy and a cocky and arrogant billionaire determined to control everything around him.

Viktor Rohan’s world is rocked when he meets Rozalia Toth. She is looking for a family heirloom and ends up at Viktor’s doorstep. Her welcome is anything but nice and yet, the attraction between them is undeniable. They have a push and pull before they succumb, but can Vickor truly let Rozalia in? This was another great Harlequin read.

My dear friend “Shallow Reader,” loves Dani Collins and that’s rec enough for me. After the intensity of Griffiths’s Stranger Diaries and especially its Victorian-gothic length, I was happy to read a snappy category romance. Snap it did, Ms Collins’s Innocent’s Nine-Month Scandal, with my favourite kind of HP heroine, kind, generous, plain-Jane, funny, and a deliciously broody hero, not too annoyingly domineering, but definitely in the strong, caretaker arena.

Collins’s plot was HP-fare ludicrous. Rozalia Toth is in Budapest looking to find the mate to her grandmother’s earring, given to grammy, in troth, by her true-love during what may be (Collins doesn’t make this explicit) the uprising of ’56? Sadly, gram’s true-love succumbed in the riots and she travelled to America, pregnant and destitute, where she made a marriage-of-convenience with one Benedick Barsi. As grammy is now getting on, Rozalia wants to give her the chance to see the earrings as a pair. Many convoluted family connections are discussed between hero and heroine, but I admit I didn’t give them much attention. Plot isn’t why one reads an HP.

One of the earrings happens to be in the possession of brooding billionaire Hungarian hero, Viktor Rohan. Rozalia has made her way to his Budapest castle. Viktor is flinty-eyed suspicious of this American ingenue, but also potently, powerfully, and never-before-felt-this-attraction-to-a-woman overwhelmed with desire. Rozalia, a 24-year-old virgin, as our HP is wont to have, stands up to his broodiness and mistrust, but can’t resist his magnetic sexuality. They do the deed, forget the condom and—ta da—baby on the way and Viktor’s inelegant you’ll-have-to-marry-me-now proposal.

HPs are to romance what Nanaimo bars are to dessert: not too often, but when you have one, it hits the sweet-tooth spot. An HP stands only on how readily the reader immerses herself in its romance-uber-fantasy. It either draws you in and makes you happy with a jolt of romance-concentrate, or it spits you out with eye-rolling disdain. The key is in writing a combination of wit and pathos that only its greatest practitioners achieve (and not necessarily in every book): Lynne Graham, Sarah Morgan, Caitlin Crews, Kelly Hunter, Jennifer Hayward, Michelle Smart, the long-lost India Grey and Kate Hewitt, and now, Dani Collins. (I haven’t ventured into vintage HP territory, lest this post go on forever, but if you’re a fan, you know who they are.)

Collins’s Innocent possesses a perfect balance of pathos and wit, the uber-fantasy of a hero too good-looking, too wealthy, too potent, and too protective to be believable; the reader is assured the heroine will never suffer for material, emotional, or sexual want. The heroine, on the other hand, is an ordinary gal made extraordinary by her personal qualities and ability to move the hero’s heart (and other bits). Viktor and Rosalia are engaging characters. Rozalia, a blend of pragmatism and romanticism, humour, ability to fend for herself and take a moral stance against the hero’s money and power, is adorable. Viktor, as I’ve noted in recent HP heroes, while secretly concerned about Rozalia and needy for her emotionally, doesn’t come across as too insufferably commanding. No matter how much he wants to take over, he respects Rozalia.

Rozalia and Viktor are a rare breed in the HP because they are compatible. But Collins still has to give them a dark moment; this is where her romance falters. A lumbering old out-of-the-blue “thing” happens and Viktor turns cold and broody again. Heroine tears are shed, for Rozalia loves him. Viktor agonizes and frets till his road-to-Damascus realization of love for Rozalia comes about. Thank goodness it’s dispatched quickly. One final critique: not sure if it’ll work for other readers, but Collins’s love scenes are overblown (sorry, not sorry) fireworks, all mate-calling-to-mate ORNATE. They are baroque. On the other hand, I admired her unabashed embracing of purple prose. If it’s an HP, she owns it. With Miss Austen, we say Innocent’s Nine-Month Scandal offers “real comfort,” Emma.

Dani Collins’s Innocent’s Nine-Month Scandal is published by Harlequin Books. It releases today, March 19, and may be found at your preferred vendor. I received an e-ARC from Harlequin Books, via Netgalley.

Rozi and Viktor fell into a relationship too fast. Rozi is a sort of bohemian person and Viktor an overly structured guy; they really had not much going in terms of compatibility outside the bedroom. Of course, they get into the unplanned pregnancy plot and this is where both show their true colors. Rozi personal insecurities made her go into denial mode about the pregnancy and Viktor stars behaving as a halfwit who blames everything on Rozi. Just when you think that he is coming off his high horse, up he goes again at every hiccup they encountered throughout the relationship journey. At the end, I liked that Rozi showed some strength in her decision to move on with her life without Viktor. I was also pleased to see Viktor’s thoughts because that helped me understand more his erratic behavior. Often, I read books in the Harlequin series where I do not know anything of what the hero is thinking, so I only experience what he says and how he acts and that leaves me thinking that these men often grow a heart until the very last chapter. This was not the case with this book. I liked the book because Viktor did a great deal of explaining and he and Rozi deserved a happy ending, especially after all that morning sickness. I received a free copy via NetGalley.

The second of a duet which is a wonderful book by Ms. Collins. Rozalia Toth goes to meet up with Mara Rohan about her grandmothers earrings and instead meets her son Viktor Rohan. Rozalia is instantly attracted to him but he is a cold man and she can see he doesn't trust anyone. Having money has made him careful with all he meets. All she wants is to see the earring that has such a family history. When he does show her he is amazed at how she is overcome with its beauty and has no interest in taking it. Until it disappears right after she leaves. Finding herself in jail for theft she calls her sister for help but when Viktor finds out she was arrested and the earring was deliberately but away by the women his mother wants him to wed he goes to the jail and has her released. This is the beginning of their romance once sided it seems. Rozi falls in love finds herself pregnant but Viktor remains cool. Until Rozi goes home to family and he misses her wondering "im starting to question whether I deserve to be loved" such a moving moment and then goes to Rozi and you will love how it all comes together.

Viktor was handsome, rich and almost royalty but he was really cold and I had a hard time liking him in the first two chapters. Rozi was sweet and smart and when she met Viktor those sparks were flying. They had great chemistry and the way this author discribes them looking at each other and touching, it's hot hot hot. Viktor turns out to be quite nice, really nice and lovable. Like most men he starts out all wrong, but the whole book is very well written and the ending is fabulous and I'm a sucker for a good ending. I gave this book four stars and recommend it highly.

I like most of the books that Dani Collins writes and this one did not disappoint. Humourous banter between the H&h, a little bit of drama and of course an unexpected pregnancy. I liked how caring Viktor was, and that he wasn't an a$$. Overall, a very good story. I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley and this is my voluntary and honest review.

This was a sweet and fun read.

Our heroine, Rozalia and her cousin are trying to retrieve an earring for their dear Grandma that has sentimental value to her. Both girls design and work with jewelry. Two men they believe, had one earring from the pair. Each cousin has a mission to get that earring. Rozalia, has seen a picture of our hero, Viktor and was drawn to it/him. Her cousin was to visit him to retrieve the earring but Rozalia convinces her to let her visit Viktor.

When she travels across the country and arrives at the front door of his mansion her reception isn't that warm. But there definitely is an instant attraction. Neither can ignore and end up in bed. Viktor is closed off as his family life/childhood wasn't warm and cozy. He fights his attraction too Rozalia as he doesn't know if he trusts her and then there's the possibility of her being pregnant. His family doesn't do scandal.

The two characters are both strong and well developed. They are learning to work through their trust issues and figure out how their relationship is going to work. Their feelings for each other evolve into something strong and deeper than either expected. Rozalia's pregnancy then becomes a priority for both and decide to marry. The earring and trust are something the two need to work through and get past. I liked the dialogue and sparring conversation the two had. I appreciated the way they resolved their difference and came to a sweet and endearing end and their HEA.

I loved, loved the epilogue!!!

A big thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. I enjoyed the story. Found it to be unique, and really enjoyed the history aspect. It was a quick read and fun. I believe it is part of a series but reads well as a stand alone. I give it 4 stars. I think most romance readers would enjoy.

This was a fast and fun read that didn't disappoint. In typical fashion, the wallflower is seduced by the playboy, but I most enjoyed watching her perception of herself change. It's easy to not be "the prettiest" or "the smartest" but watching her recognize and play to her strengths was an extra tidbit I didn't expect to have in this story.

Innocent's Nine-Month Scandal by Dani Collins is your typical Harlequin Presents featuring an alpha playboy millionaire (Viktor), a sweet, innocent female (Rozalia) and an accidental pregnancy. Overall a quick, light read with a HEA.

I don't think Viktor knows what ti di with his woman's sassiness, “I’m always very nice when I dress someone down.” She blinked her lengthened lashes. “You barely felt it at all.” Viktor doesn't like seeing his girl upset, “I’ll buy you a new one,” he dismissed. It was nothing. Not worth that look of utter defeat on her face." I liked this book, I loved Viktor.
