We are always craving something... always. I loved the title, because we all crave for satisfaction, we won´t find in anyone or anything but Him.

When I saw this small devotional book writen by worship leaders, didn´t know what to expect, but we all have to admit that artist are very emotional, sometimes it helps to go deep to realize all we need is God. I think some other artist may find this book enjoyable.

Satisfy My Soul is a devotional book written by worship leaders, singers and musicians from the International House of Prayer in Kansas City. These worshipers spend their days adoring Jesus in worship, studying His Word and seeking to become more like Him in their character and actions. Like all of us, they have experienced challenges in their lives. From the depths of God’s faithfulness to them and their hearts after His, they write these pages.

Though many of the devotions will appeal to worshipers who sing, the writers want all believers to know and experience the power of singing to God and singing His Word over ourselves, and the effect of music on our hearts and on our relationship with God. I am firmly convinced that any believer can be inspired by this book to pursue God more and use the topics within to stir them to behold Jesus and the beauty of who He is.

Singing God’s Word and singing your heart to God in the difficulty and the victories is a key that all need to experience. It doesn’t matter if we can really sing at all or sound awful when we do. The Psalms of the Bible also make this clear often, and the Apostle Paul says in Colossians 3:16:

”Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”

A few quotes that really impacted me:

“Singing truth even through disappointment is one of the healthiest ways to process the pain and challenges life can bring.”

“Psalm 34 says to ‘bless the Lord at all times.’ It’s easy to take that verse and apply it in seasons of joy and success. But it’s a whole different story to apply it in seasons of pain and discomfort.”

The devotionals in this book call us to seek Jesus daily, asking Him questions and to come to know His heart and thoughts toward us. The latter is very important because our perception of God and how He sees us can drastically affect the time we spend with Him (or if we spend any time with Him at all!)

In that, this book is apt to be a benefit to all who read it. The truths expanded upon in this devotional have the potential to set us free from lies and wrong beliefs we have about Father God and how He thinks and feels toward us. This alone makes the devotional worth the purchase!
