I read a sneak peek of this book through netgalley. This sneak peek ended at the best part and I am so excited for this book now! This dystopian world is unlike any other and the mystery of what is in the stolen package and how it relates to the queens keeps you guessing. I cannot wait to read the rest of this book!

Great little sneak peek at this upcoming book. Good start with the world building just enough to get you going but not giving too much away. The end has me eagerly anticipating the release of the book so I can fully dive in to this interesting new world.

The book excerpt was phenomenal! It was like a cross between Divergent and a fairy tale. I can't wait to read the book in its entirety.

I really wish I could read the rest of the story. I like what I've read, but I will not leave a review until I read it all. Thanks to NetGalley for an arc in exchange for an honest review.

Wow I was able to get a glimpse into the world of Four Dead Queens and I’m excited to read the rest once it is released!

This book has promise to be excellent. My only hope is that it doesn’t fall into the trap of ‘female heroin save a kingdom’ type of book. If so, it’s for younger readers in YA. It is well written, the characters are developed well in the first few pages & the plot thickens quickly. I’m looking forward to reading it full when it comes out.

Well from what I can tell with just the sneak peek that I read, the story is going in an interesting direction so far. This world is obviously dark and gritty, which isn't a bad thing as long as it doesn't move over into the vulgar. It could though because there were a couple moments were it got a little crude. Besides that the characters were engaging and I like the main heroine, she pulled me into the story easily. The revolving POVs might get harder to deal with as the book goes on but for now they're intriguing. Overall this is shaping up to be a good book, I might just get it when it comes out now that I've gotten enough into it to be interested in the rest of the story.

I was lucky enough to read a sneak preview of Four Dead Queens. The preview included the first few chapters - enough to introduce you to the setting - a queendom with four very different lands and peoples. There is a queen for each land, one producing natural resource, one over producing science and tech, one focusing on fashion and toys, and the last regulating the trade in the other three. The four queens live in the Concord and rule the rest of the lands and their subjects. The story opens on Keralie, the city's best dipper (pickpocket), as she steals some important tech from a messenger. She brings it to Mackiel, who runs the auction house and rules the underworld. Back to the queens, where Queen Iris of Archia (the land producing natural resources) relaxes in the gardens that remind her of home. She feels a sting, spots an intruder and dies from having her throat cut, throwing the queendom into turmoil. All this in Part One!!
I love Astrid Schotte's storytelling. She put out a lot of information without bogging down in it, and set the stage for what looks to be a pretty amazing fantasy novel. I can't wait to read the rest!!!!

I'm sure this will be a fun fantasy story that many people will enjoy. Unfortunately I think it just isn't for me. The world seems fairly complex, and although the beginning seemed very info-dumpy, I still didn't feel like I was being given all the information I needed to really get a good feel for all the different people and places involved. Some of the concepts seemed slightly intriguing, however the writing and characters did nothing to keep me interested enough to want to keep going and understand more. I'm sure others will connect with this one more than I did. I'm very grateful for the chance to sample this book, but I don't think it'll be going on my TBR at the moment.

First of all, thank you netgalley for allowing me to read this sneak peak. It was so good, not once was i bored whilst reading. The story had me captivated and I loved all the different POV's we got. The plot of murder - Queen murders - intrigued me so much that I definitely see myself picking this up once it's released.

Even though it was just a few chapters I'm already hooked on the story and really need the rest!
I want to know more about the four queens and what's going to happen now after what happened to one of them, as well the past of what happened in the past with our main protagonist!

Her past with the king of the thieves there, as well as her past with her dad. And now the mystery of what she pick pocketed out of that Eonist.

The plot of the four continents being separated with the walls, all focused on one things, medicine, agriculture, and all is really fascinating and I want to see how it will go from there. I'm sensing a "let's destroy the walls of Constantinople thing" going on in the future and it's got me hooked!

We can see from Astrid just from this sneakpeak that her writing is very detailed and well writing, it besides the whole two plots going on, it's what got me hooked, really easy to read and smooth to follow. Really need the full book!

I enjoyed this short excerpt and am keen to read more when the novel comes out. The premise is quite interesting and it was fun to read a YA novel with more of a sci-fi slant. Can't really comment much on the characterisation as I didn't really get to know any of them very well yet but it seems interesting so far.

The book's world is very rich but not overdone (which is really hard to do with stand-alone fantasy books) and the mystery kept me on the edge of my seat! It has wonderful characters. It was vivid, fast-paced, suspenseful, has the perfect amount of humour and romance. Six point of views can be overwhelming but the way the author wrote it made it beneficial to teh story! It's a fast-paced murder mystery and it delivered well.
