I usually really enjoy Brenda Novak. Her books tend to be a great escape, and take very little effort to read.

This one was no exception, HOWEVER, the female lead does do something that was forgiven much easier than what I find realistic. I’ve never been in the position, so I can’t say how I would have handled her situation, but I can say that I feel the main lead was far more forgiving, far quicker than what felt believable.

Probably the most impactful story in the Silver Springs series. All the previous stories have done a great job of introducing success stories due to the efforts of the New Horizons Boys Ranch and there have been many thanks to Aiyana Turner. But in UNFORGETTABLE YOU Brenda Novak faces the reality of life, circumstances and events that fall beyond our control. Stuff happens. People make unwise decisions. People get hurt. Lives are forever altered. All this occurs between the covers of UNFORGETTABLE YOU and I think after reading this amazing book by Brenda Novak you will agree. Once again Brenda Novak has created characters that emote such feelings you think of them as alive.
So when Maddox and Jada were teenagers they fell in love. Not too out of the ordinary but these two were instantly star crossed lovers even as minors. Maddox never really had a chance to live a kid’s life. Father walked out. Mother addiction issues. And Maddox had a younger brother who had more problems coping with their life than he did and that’s saying a lot.
Events at a party totally changed the trajectory of Maddox, Jada and their younger brothers. And now as adults they are still reeling from the fall out.
Have I got your attention yet? Well reading UNFORGETTABLE YOU will have you switching teams page by page. Sure there is the issue of sadness and regret and sympathy. And Brenda Novak makes sure you understand the lives these people are saddled with now as adults.
Maddox has with much luck and support matured into a responsible man, educated and has a worthwhile career working with young adults. Maddox has been offered the job of a life time. Aiyana hired Maddox as head of her new school. This school works with young girls with issues much like the young boys that have over two decades attended the boy’s ranch.
Coming back to Silver Springs means that Maddox will now have to face many who basically ran him out of town years ago. In particular Jada’s family. And add to the challenge is the fact that Jada has also just moved back home to help with her mother’s shop.
Now that’s not to say you won’t have some fun reading UNFORGETTABLE YOU. Brenda Novak managed to slip in some of her best humorous moments between Maddox and Jada. There is always the element of hope in any Brenda Novak work and even when life presents significant hurdles her stories remind you to keep the faith and soldier on. If you are already a fan of the Silver Springs series then you must add UNFORGETTABLE YOU to your reading wish list.

My Recommendation
This is a very well-written book about a second chance at love. As wilh. all Brenda Novak novels, it took me on an emotional roller-coaster and had me in tears on many occasions. To be honest, at times I was hoping that the couple would NOT get together. There were simply too many obstacles to be overcome, but ultimately I was happy with the inevitable HEA. This is a very good series but I think there is enough information that this book can be read as a standalone.

I voluntarily read an ARC of this book.. The thoughts and opinions expressed are honest and are all .my own.

Brenda Novak delivered a walking on glass tale about getting a second chance with your first (and only) true love. After a life-altering choice, the characters, both primary and secondary, are all struggling to find normal. This story acknowledges that families can fracture, rebuild, adapt, and reform.

It is possible to heal...

MIRA and NetGalley provided me with an electronic copy of Unforgettable You. I was under no obligation to review this book and my opinion is freely given.

Having read some of Brenda Novak's series featuring Dr. Evelyn Talbot, I was excited to try Unforgettable You. I was unaware that this novel was a romance, as it is not usually a genre in which I like to read. Unforgettable You is about a woman who comes home to Silver Springs to help her mother and brother, despite the misgivings and unresolved feelings that she has. A tragic night when Jada was just a teenager forever changed her path, but will she have a second chance to set things right?

It has been twelve years, but Jada is still paying for the mistakes of her past. There is nothing new regarding the plot, as I have read similar books before. I was hoping that the characterization would elevate the novel, but the author did not truly let the reader into Jada's inner thoughts and feelings. Parts of the plot, especially those regarding Maya, were unrealistic, as it would not have been possible to keep such a secret once they moved back to Jada's hometown. This should have been a compelling read, full of angst and broken dreams, but I just did not feel a connection to the novel as a whole. Readers who like second chance romances may like Unforgettable You.

I read the next book in this series before this one, but wanted to find out the full story behind Maddox and Jada's relationship. I recommend reading this series in order though, reading the next one definitely spoiled a lot of the surprises for me in this book. Having said that, I am glad I read this one. I enjoyed the characters and relationship development of Jada and Maddox. Both of these characters were damaged by an incident from their past and they were forced to abandon the relationship they were developing. They both moved away from Silver Springs to begin new lives, but were drawn back for different reasons. Jada returned when her father died and she was needed to help her mother, Maddox came back for job, neither knew the other had returned. Jada, has a twelve year old daughter, which everyone assumes is from her ex-husband, but family and one close friend know the truth. Will Jada finally tell Maddox he is a father? Will the truth destroy the mother-daughter relationship? Can forgiveness mend relationships?

I enjoyed this contemporary romance with a happily ever after. The trope of hidden paternity can be frustrating and seem selfish, but as we learn about the tragic accident that occured thirteen years earlier and the fallout, Brenda Novak had me understanding Jada's decision and feeling bad for her, Maddox and her daughter Maya. They have all missed out on so much. I loved the characters in this story as they were all trying to do what they thought was best and were trying hard to forgive and move forward, all except Susan Brooks, Jada's mother. She was stuck, mean, bitter and totally unwilling to forgive. She refused to listen to anyone and I did not like her one bit. No wonder Jada's brother has also wallowed in self-pity for years and made no attempt to move forward in his life until Jada returns and gives him the push he needs. The setting is wonderful, the school to give youth a second chance in life a great idea, the secondary characters interesting and the story well-written. Everything I look for in a contemporary romance story. There are a lot of issues within this story, such as drug use and addiction, dealing with handicaps, second chances in life, and forgiveness that make it real and relatable to many. I definitely recommend this one, in fact, I recommend this series. I will be going back and reading those I missed before reading any upcoming ones in this series.

This book was another amazing, sweet read! After all, a story about a couple who were split up because of one horrible night-and the fact that she had their daughter and didn't tell him, yeah, that's quite a story!

There was a bit of this story where she anonymously contacted him, and yeah, that was pretty hilarious to read, because they both let their guards down, as well as some flirtations. That he wants to know who she is, and she knows that can't work, well, it was an interesting dynamic!

I kinda really didn't like her parents. Well, her father died, but given that he seemed to be of the same opinion as his wife, well, I don't think I'd like him either. I mean, they favored their son, and while Jada made a mistake going to the party, it's not like she pulled the trigger. Her mom acted horribly.

There were a few fears in this book. That Maddox would take Maya away from Jada. That Maya would hate her for not telling her about her dad. And I just had to read more, to see how they found their happy ending!

Really enjoyed reading this book, and can't wait to read his brother's story in the next book!

Maddox and Jada have a complicated relationship. Not only did Jada get pregnant at 17, but after taking her little brother to a party they shouldn't have been at, the poor little guy is shot by Maddox's brother and is paralyzed for life.

Fast forward thirteen years and Maddox and Jada have both come home to Silver Springs. Maddox has no idea he's a father and Jada is trying to help her sick mother keep her cookie store afloat. When they see each other again, they realize the sparks are still there, but Brenda Novak stokes the flames with so many obstacles, including a brother who finally gets out of prison, a drug-addicted mother, and a little girl's search for her dad, that readers will be hooked to the very last page.

This story will make you a believer in the power of love and that love truly does conquer all.

I love Brenda Novak and I love her books. This one missed the mark a little bit for me. I love strong women in books or at least turn strong sooner than 3/4th the way of the book. Or if the character can't be made strong make her extremely weak and show me the struggles so I feel emotions for her and I couldn't do that with Jada. I did love Maddox and how he tried to be everything for everyone and how he stood up for what he believed. The book was a quick read and it was good, just not the best I have read from Ms. Novak. Received this book for free and I give my feedback voluntarily.

A thrilling and heartfelt story; draws you in very quickly and doesn't let go. Excellent character development. Highly recommended!

Another great addition to the Silver Springs line.

Jada and Maddox must overcome years of pain and distrust to find their way. Is their love enough to survive the ups and downs of their lives?

I'm a Catholic and one of the things we are supposed to do is forgive. We aren't supposed to hold on to wounds, pick at scabs and generally stay mad at people. This book is about people who don't follow that rule, and what it does to their lives.

Yes, Jada's family had plenty of reason to be angry with Maddox, but by choosing to live in the past and to hang on to hurt, the main people they were hurting were themselves.

The story is set at the same school for troubled kids that the other books in this series are. The head of the school sees the good in both Jada and Maddox, and in another major character and it is through her and each other that these characters learn to forgive and move on with life.

As with many of Novak's book's the characters are the strong point.

I'd like to thank the publisher for making a review copy available via NetGalley. Grade: B+

Unforgettable You is the fifth title in the Silver Springs series, a small town contemporary romance. I love a secret baby romance, so was quite eager to read this title but I struggled to connect with the story line, in particular the heroine.

Maddox and Jada’s were childhood sweethearts and I so wanted this pair to have a happy ever after. I was intrigued by the concept of this story line, but it just didn’t work for me. Jada was so spirited and strong in some ways, but her guilt lasted for thirteen years, and continued to pander to her family, in particular her mother, in an effort to be forgiven. Events of the past left Jada feeling guilty, and I struggled with how she was used and abused by her family. The guilt she felt ended up feeling contrived, rather than genuine, and her family came across as quite heartless, self-centered and manipulative.

I quite liked Maddox’s character. He’s kind, and has worked hard to leave his upbringing and bad choices of the past behind him.

Always love second chance romance. Jafa and Maddox returning to Silver Springs after way to many years, Going their separate way after a horrible accident that happened when they were teenagers. Their chemistry was still there, Jada hiding a big secret from Maddox. They need to put their past behind and move forward.

Both character are very flawed. Am in love with Maddox. I highly recommend this book.

Due to family emergency it took me awhile to review this book. Am very sorry!@

I received this arc from NetGalley for an honest review. Unforgettable is a great new beachy contemporary fiction read for the upcoming summer. It's a story about love and forgiveness. It was a nice and quick read, but there was also a negative thing after negative thing that kept happening and that was exhausting.

Great read. I loved the plot. The characters were all viable. Novak always delivers a good story. Her series books are good, but so are her stand alone reads.

So far I liked these books the characters are complex and while it has the small town feel not everyone is as progressive but colorful personalities. Brenda Novak creates scenearios which can be applicable to real life and have human emotions and more complex. Maddox and Jada have a complicated history. Even if he was he firsts it also comes with a dose of heartache. Maddox brother Tobias was a troubled youth they both were from a bad home life. But Maddox was a good one but of course sometimes that can't be helped.

Tobias was responsible for how Maddox and Jada broke apart. After being shooting her brother Atticus and making him crippled her family is devastated and still holds it against Maddox from association. Thing is Maddox and Jada have a daughter Maya only Maddox doesn't know yet vice versa. I don't think that was fair to keep from him cause of the what her mom and brother feels plus the kid secret but I get it she stills likes him though well more of torn. Her mother was a downer, enabling her brother and very close minded I get why she was reluctant to do anything. But I wasn't a fan of how she dealt with everything after. I guess I just didn't get why couldn't tell Maddox about Maya, even if she knows the fsllout will be bad, still they both deserve to know.

I wasn't too keen on how Jada didn't want any contact with Maddox but pretends via secret text to be someone else. I wish they were more upfront sure that was a cute honest way to get to let him know stuff but it would be better in person. It just felt awkward the way things unfolded, the physical relationship went first before anything was solved. I can see Maddox tries to be better move forward, his loyalty and care for others shows a lot. Overall a good guy just unfortunate how things happened and how people judge. His brother also deserves the second chance to change. Just so many confused feelings all around, it's a grey situation but I just wish they would deal with it than keep tiptoeing around.

So overall I liked the plot but I felt the kid secret was kept too long and it was wrapped up too easily. Well not easy before all that drama it felt dragged. Maddox and Jada were ok together not as smooth but lots to figure out still. This was not my favorite of the series but I'm still looking forward to Tobias' story plus it's a Christmas story.
