Brenda Novak has once again created a wonderful tale of second chance romance. Her talent for character development is amazing. I was privileged to return to Silver Springs for this fifth book in the series.

After the death of her father, Jada Brooks returned to Silver Springs with her daughter, Maya, to help her mother whose health is failing. Atticus, her brother, is confined to a wheelchair after being tragically shot when he was only eleven years old. Jada feels responsible for his being at the party where the tragedy occurred.

Maddox Richardson is the principal of the new girls’ school at New Horizons. Jada and Maddox have a past history that is very complicated. Needless to say, things get interesting when Jada and Maddox discover that they are both once again living in the town where they fell in love as teenagers.

I really enjoyed this book and I highly recommend it and the entire series to anyone who likes second chance, small town romances.

I received a copy of Unforgettable You from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

They were high school sweethearts that a terrible accident tore them apart thirteen years ago and changed their families lives forever. Both have just moved back to Silver Springs, California. They love and attraction are as strong as ever. Will her guilt and lies come between them? Can they over come the past to find the true love and passion that they had all those years ago?

Jada Brooks has been keeping her feelings in check because of wanting her family to accept and forgive her for the past. Her relationship with her mother was never a close one but her involvement in the accident to her brother just made it worse. Her life is complicated by the fact that besides her social media business she's helping in her mother's cookie shop because of the woman's lupus. While at the farmer's market with her disabled brother she thinks she sees the man she can't forget, Maddox Richardson. Maddox recently moved back to Silver Spring to be principal of the girl's school at the troubled teen ranch he attended for awhile before the accident happened. When they realize both had moved back to town they try to ignore each other. Maddox apologizes to her about the past. Jada can't stop thinking about him and hasn't over the last thirteen years. Maddox has the same feelings and when anonymously Jada starts to text him very sexy texts, he is very intrigued. His life is complicated by his drug addict mother and his younger brother who's about to be released from prison. When he figures out that Jada is texting him and reveals it during a very sexy set of texts, she backs off hoping he'll get in contact but when he doesn't she makes contact again. They have a one night stand and then another passionate night together. When Jada's starts looking into finding information about her dead father it scares Jada especially after Maddox meets her. An opportunity arrives for her daughter to attend the school Maddox works at and Jada at first says no but with encouragement from her family she lets her go. The owner of the school realizes Jada's secret. After Maddox picks up his brother from prison and takes him to his girlfriend's place he keeps in contact to help him out. His mother's problems have him bailing her out. His brother ends up in Silver Springs to stay, His arrival brings the past to the fore front and results in the Brooks family and the Richardson family facing long needed decisions. Jada must decide if she can leave her family behind and be with Maddox and to tell him and their daughter the truth. After a confrontation with Jada's mother both Maddox and his brother leave town. Jada decides that the truth is the best for everyone. A rift between her and her mother. A brother who realizes that forgiveness and letting go of the anger is the best thing for him. Their lives becomes the happiness that they've always wanted with a new addition along the way.

Brenda Novak writes a compelling, captivating story of pain, forgiveness and overcoming guilt to find the true love you always wanted. She even throws in a reference to another one of her characters and series and a nice surprise. I got hooked on Novak's books with the Dundee, Idaho series and love the Evelyn Talbot series as well. Her books are always an emotional and heartfelt read.

Unforgettable You is the story of Jada and Maddox. These two were high school sweethearts, but tragically, they couldn't stay together. Now, years later, both are back in town for different reasons. Jada has a secret involving Maddox. It's a second chance for love, but will they take it? Are they meant to be or not? It's a well written thoughtful story with heart and charm. Brenda Novak fans will love this new addition. It's everything you would expect and more. Thanks to NetGalley for an arc in exchange for an honest review.

This book snuck up on me. I've jumped around this series and when I saw this new addition to the series, I jumped right back in. This has everything I love, second chances, redemption AND A SECRET BABY. Brenda Novak handles second chance stories with such grace, you're able to see the good and the bad in all the characters. No person is one quality and Novak showcases the complexities of human nature in a sweet, profound way.

The MC's characters have known each other since high school but a major event throws them apart. And by throw them apart I mean I really thought there was no way there would be able to work it out. The event is catastrophic and highly emotional. There were so many hurdles to overcome and as each one is revealed, your emotions are tested. I had to see if some of the secondary characters involved would get a book because they had to!!! I'm so glad to see some of their stories will be told. The chemistry of the two mc’s can be felt through every interaction and HOLY ANGST! IT’s enough to melt the pages. I’m normally not into angsty books but this one punches you right in the feels.

Another book in Brenda's Silver Springs series. I am still not loving this series as much as I did Whiskey Creek. I love the setting of the town of Silver Springs and the way the author describes it I almost feel as if I am there. The characters are always well developed in Novak's books but I just cannot warm up to them like I have with other characters in her books. That being said this is not a "bad" book nor am I bashing the author, I just liked the Whiskey Creek series and characters better. It was a quick and easy read for me and I would recommend it to others.

Thank you NetGalley for an eARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. This is the story of Maddox, Jada, Atticus and Tobias and how and stupid mistake back when they were young changed each of their lives. Maddox and Jada were high school sweethearts, and because of an accident between their brothers the split apart, before Jada knew she was pregnant. They both wind up back in Silver Springs 13 years later and face their own challenges, Maddox showing up in a town that blames him for his brothers mistake and Jada trying to keep the secret that Maddox has a daughter. This is a journey of love, forgiveness, second chances and of new beginnings. This is part of the Silver Springs series, but I'd not read any of the others, and didn't feel lost at all. I highly recommend this book and this author! I will be reading more of the Silver Springs series..

I really liked this novel. I found myself feeling deeply for Jada and for her tumultuous relationship with her unforgiving, accusing mother and Jada’s desire to reunite with her lost love, Maddox. The pull on Jada to do what’s right for herself, for her daughter and for her relationship with her mother is well written, conveying Jada’s deep angst and doubts.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Jada Brooks life was changed one fateful night when she and her boyfriend Maddox went with her little brother to a party that he was shot at by Maddox's little brother. Later on come to finds that shes pregnant with Maddox's child to add to everything. Its been many years since then and Maddox and Jada are back in their hometown going through different things. Theres been a grudge between families but the attraction between the two is still around, not only that Maddox brother is finally out jail and emotions are running high.

I really enjoyed this book it was pretty good. It was well written and interesting and there was so much tension all around to keep things interesting. It was one after the other with problems arising and people trying to atone for past sins, trying to make something of themselves, working hard on second chances. Personally I was curious how the whole reveal of the child would be and that kinda fell flat, it actually felt rush and I was curious if there was going to be something more about it. I mean the child thought that her father was dead you'd think there would have been some type of tantrum teen angst kinda thing going on, I mean she was lied to for so many years, the trust should be shaken but when it was finaly reveals it was like.... I don't know just came out wierd to me. But other then that I loved that attraction between Jada and Maddox and seeing the conflicts and ups and downs, the family feuds and stuff. It was an entertaining read I enjoyed it.

I loved going back to Silver Springs to read the story of Jada and Maddox! In this small town, second chance love story, Maddox returns to Silver Springs to help run the New Horizons girls school…however, Jada also just returned home with their 13 year old daughter, Maya, a daughter Maddox never knew he had.

Maddox was involved with Jada’s brother, Atticus, being shot and put in a wheelchair almost 14 years ago. It wasn’t Maddox who pulled the trigger, but it was his brother, Tobias, and he is about to be released from prison. The story comes full circle in this 5th book in the Silver Springs series. I have loved all the characters in this series by the wonderful author, Brenda Novak.

This story was wonderful! It had all the feels…I had tears, felt love and heartbreak…just perfect! I am looking forward to the next book featuring Tobias!

Jada Brooks couldn’t have known how her life would change when she fell for bad boy Maddox Richardson back in high school. She couldn’t have known his troubled brother would leave hers forever crippled. Or that she’d be forced to shun Maddox completely—only to discover she was carrying his child.

Unfortunately this was a DNF for me... 🥺 I just couldn’t connect with Jada. What mother would hide her child from the father unless he was a threat to the child’s welfare which wasn’t the case. Maybe I’m being harsh but I couldn’t get my head around it or the reasons or rationale behind it and couldn’t read much further into the book. I get making mistakes when you’re younger, making decisions you’d later regret I’ve read a number of books that have covered this — in all honestly I just didn’t like Jada’s character.

Jada Brooks couldn’t have known how her life would change when she fell for bad boy Maddox Richardson back in high school. She couldn’t have known his troubled brother would leave hers forever crippled. Or that she’d be forced to shun Maddox completely—only to discover she was carrying his child.

Although Maddox was devastated by the events that transpired that fateful night, losing Jada was the worst of it. He’s back in Silver Springs, ready to make amends and provide the kind of youth outreach that once saved him. If he’d known Jada was in town, too, he would never have come.

Jada has returned to Silver Springs to be with family after her father’s death. But when she sees Maddox, every tough decision she’s made concerning their now twelve-year-old daughter begins to haunt her. Falling for him again is so tempting, but not only does she stand to alienate her family—if he finds out about Maya, she could lose what matters most.

A great story about redemption and forgiveness. When they were teens, Jada and Maddox were in love but were torn apart by tragedy. Thirteen years later, they are both back in their hometown and no that their love is still strong but there are too many reasons for them not to be together. Jada's family is very bitter and she has a big secret that could tear them all apart. Maddox only has his drug addict mother and his ex-con brother, but he will do anything to help them. As dysfunctional as they are, they are all he has. If they are together it could hurt so many people, but they just can't stay away from each other. How can they be together when it will hurt so many people?

This book was an easy read and keeps you rooting them on! A story of second chances and fighting for what is right! Loved this book and can't wait to read the others! Well written by the author and very relatable !

Unforgettable You – Brenda Novak

I was fortunate to receive this book as an Advance Reader Copy from Netgalley, in exchange for an objective review.

Jada Brooks & Maddox Richardson were a sweet teen-aged couple, when the events of a weekend party shattered their lives and separated them forever. Unbeknownst to either of them at the time, Jada was pregnant.

Now, 13 years later, Jada and 12-year-old Maya have returned home to Silver Springs, California after a divorce, and the death of her father. Home primarily to assist her mother with running the family business, and to help with her handicapped brother Atticus, Jada was assured that Maddox was no longer in town. But at a farmer’s market one weekend, she spots Maddox in the crowd…

Maddox Richardson lost the love of his life, and his brother Tobias to prison on that fateful night so long ago. Now 13 years later, he has returned home to Silver Springs after accepting a position as principal to a school for troubled youths. Not wanting to cause further heartbreak to the girl he once loved, he returned with the understanding that Jada was married and living elsewhere. But at that same farmers market – he spots Jada…

As both Maddox & Jada struggle with old feelings, and attempt to stay out of each other’s way, Maya is searching for information on her father, who was reportedly deceased in an accident before she was born. The spitting image of her father, Jada fears it’s only a matter of time before Maddox learns the truth. Can Maddox and Jada leave the past behind, and find their way back to one another??

I just love every word that Brenda Novak writes, and cannot get enough of her! Whether it’s the darker Talbot series, or a sweet read such as this, I’ve never read a Novak novel that I didn’t adore! Read this in a day because I just couldn’t put it down! And I LOVED the reference to Dr. Talbot! Bonus is, there’ll be more to come in Silver Springs, CA! I already cannot wait for the next book!!

I love second chance love stories and Brenda Novak writes them quite well! Jada and Maddox were a captivating couple that had to endure several things to get to where they needed to be. It was a great weekend read. Nothing makes me happier than having a good book to read on the weekend. I was happy to spend my weekend reading this book!
