Jada Brooks is back living in her mother’s house, with her wheelchair-bound brother, and her twelve-year old daughter. She is trying to deal with her father’s death, her mother’s illness, and her brother’s inability to move beyond the horrific incident that paralysed him years ago when they were both teenagers.

Maddox Richardson was there the night that Atticus, Jada’s brother, was shot. His own brother, Tobias, did the deed. With Tobias’s prison release coming soon, Maddox is trying to settle in to Silver Springs as the new headmaster at the New Horizon’s girls’ school.

It was inevitable that Jada and Maddox run into each other in the small town. Jada is keeping a huge secret from Maddox and she isn’t sure whether she should invite him back into her life or not. And for his part, Maddox isn’t sure that it is wise at all to become involved with Jada again. But neither one of them seem to be able to help it. Soon they are drawn together again and trying to connect despite Jada’s family’s resentments and Maddox’s family issues.

I liked the way in which Maddox and Jada started talking again. They had a lot to forgive between them and the story flowed really well in regards to this. Their conflicting interest in each other and reservations with each other were very well done. The animosity from Jada’s brother and mother towards Maddox and Tobias is completely understandable. Atticus probably underwent the most growth in the story. Maya, Jada’s daughter, was a cute addition to the story. I don’t feel like she was completely necessary to the story. Jada and Maddox would have gotten together without her presence in their lives and the history between all of them was a big enough hurdle to overcome, without throwing Maya into the mix. But she did provide an interesting perspective. Tobias was an intriguing character.

I’ve enjoyed this entire series so far and will continue reading any more books that follow. I like the idea of redemption – that someone whose life seemed to have no positive outlook can break free and become something more.

This was a great read. Well written story, well developed characters. A high school romance, a tragedy, several years go by and that long ago romance is reignited. Family dynamics play a big part in how this story plays out and you won’t be disappointed when you pick up this book.

The fifth book in the Silver Springs series, Unforgettable You could stand alone. Brenda Novak's characters will have to wade through some rough waters on their way to forgiveness. They are real people who've had some tough breaks in life - putting it mildly. For years Maddox has shouldered the responsibility of one horrible night that changed the lives of his girl friend and her younger brother. His own brother went to prison for his actions that night and, thirteen years later, is dealing with being outside of prison and finding his place in the world. Jada, Maddox's girlfriend, moved on with her life after that night. Her parents made sure she'd never see Maddox again, at least that's what they hoped. Fate has other ideas and everyone ends up back in Silver Springs. Secrets will be revealed and relationships are up in the air but the possibilities are endless when characters open themselves to forgiveness. I look forward to the next book in the series!

SILVER SPRINGS has been a strong series but TBH I was a bit worried when I started UNFORGETTABLE YOU because I found it hard to agree with some things that Jada did both in the past and present. But true to the series, it’s all about redemption. Not to take anything away from Jada and Maddox’s story but the whole time I was reading about Tobias, I was wishing he’d get his own book. I was very happy to read the note from the author at the end confirming my hopes. I can’t wait for CHRISTMAS IN SILVER SPRINGS!

One of the better Silver Springs books that I've read. I stayed up way too late trying to get this one done. My favorite thing about Brenda Novak books, is that she makes her characters, so utterly relatable. More than once I found myself thinking, "oh I'd be saying this..." and then the character would say it. A tough topic to delve into, in typical Novak fashion, Brenda tackled it with grace and awareness.

I love Brenda Novak's Silver Springs Series! Book five is no exception. She really knows how to write an amazing love story. I could go on and on about Jada and Maddox's story in "Unforgettable You." Jada and Maddox were high school sweethearts ripped apart by tragedy when Maddox's brother shoots Jada's brother putting him in a wheelchair. It changed everything between them. Forced to choose her family over her love of Maddox she leaves him even though she is pregnant. Now thirteen years later they are both back in Silver Springs. Neither can deny the heat and chemistry between them, but with will the long-kept secrets rip these two apart forever or will they be able to work past them and find their happily ever after. I really loved this book. Like all her other ones in the series, it's very well written and captured my attention from beginning to end. I can't wait for the next book!

“I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.”

I've always looked forward to books by this author - especially this series. The characters are well developed and the story line is enjoyable. The way that the author weaves characters from prior books into the current, keeps the entertainment level high, though not "forcing" the reader to have completed the prior books. I anticipate upcoming books in the series.

Wow! Amazing!

What would you do if you were given a second chance with the one who got away? Jada and Maddox were young and in love, however, their love was torn apart by a devastating accident. Now, after 13 years of being separated they are both back in Silver Springs. Will they be able to leave the past in the past and move forward, or will Jada's secret be too much?
This is by far my favorite book of this series. I absolutely loved Jada and Maddox, their story kept me on the edge of my seat. I cant wait for the next book in the series!

3.5 stars

I’m a fan of Brenda Novak, partly because she doesn’t shy away from difficult topics. I’ve found that this series, in particular, has characters with a lot of flaws and heartbreak in their pasts. In most cases, the most flawed of the characters in each book is one of the former students from New Horizons. In this story, although Maddox has had a rough life, I felt Jada was much more flawed.

Maddox seemed to carry the weight of the world on his shoulders. Not just because he’s the type of guy who will stand beside those he loves and has a strong moral compass. He also took on a lot of blame for things he wasn’t responsible for, having people judge him by his mom and not for himself.

Jada also carried a lot of guilt with her. A large portion of that guilt is not deserved. Her parents were absolutely wrong in how they handled a terrible tragedy that happened to her family when she was a teen, in the process they piled blame on her where it did not belong. On the other hand, I felt she did deserve some of the guilt she carried. I can understand her being scared and unsure of how to proceed with her life when she was young. The decisions she made to keep secrets once she found out that Maddox was back in town made me so angry that I often had a hard time reading this story. I’d find myself sympathizing with Jada and rooting for her and Maddox to find their way back to each other, then she’d make another bonehead decision and I’d lose all faith in her and get upset again.

There is almost a charming element to the chemistry between Jada and Maddox. They’re both trying so hard not to hurt anyone around them, including each other. Yet they cannot deny the pull they have toward each other.

There were some surprising favorites for me in this story; Tobias was a pleasant surprise and Atticus eventual wormed his way into my heart. There were also some extreme disappointments such as Jada’s mom. Even her best friend, although super supportive, didn’t really think through her advise in my opinion.

Since Tobias found a solid fan in me, I’m excited the next story will feature him. His story is really quite tragic and it will be wonderful to see him get his life turned around.

Engaging second chance at romance story. Maddox and Jada share a past. Past regrets with communication being key helps to provide for a future

Unforgettable you is a book that gave me mixed feelings. On one hand, I liked the pace and how Maddox and Jada found their way back to each other and on the other I kept wishing that Maddox would find out about his daughter before the final chapter, so they could have the time to bond. And that was really bugging me because, in the end, I didn't buy what we got when it came to Maddox and Maya's interactions because I found it too easy. I just wanted to see that pair clicking together and bonding over ice scream and not get the "Maya, I am your father" speech and be done with it. It was the reason it took me a while to finish the book. I couldn't get over Jada's refusal to tell her daughter and the father of her daughter the truth.

The book is about forgiveness and learning to move on past a mistake someone made in the past. I liked that part of the book. I wasn't sure what to make of Tobias and Atticus in the beginning, but both of them won me over and now I want to see them get a happy ending. Tobias' book is next and I am looking forward to getting that book in my hands. I hope that his woman will be Tiffany.

The romantic aspect of Maddox and Jada's story was good and the thing that won me over the most. Their timeline was a good one and things felt natural between them. It's hard to reconnect with someone after 13 years and all that hatred that run on her side of the family and guilt on his. Maddox took the blame for something that he had no power over and I hated Jada's mother for that ,since she was the one with the venom.

It seems like I have an issue with when the author chooses to end some plotlines, which makes me wonder what will bother me when I read book 6. Until then, I would recommend this book.

This second chance love story will hit readers right in the chest, especially those who would love a second change to put past mistakes in the past, find forgiveness, and begin to heal towards a happily-ever-after. Brenda Novak pens a tale of what happens when two people are willing to stand up for their love. You get a realistic story of heartache, guilt, and fear turned into forgiveness, loyalty, and finally joy. And although it’s not a complete tied-up-in-a-bow happily-ever-after, it is a satifying and realistic one.

Unforgettable You by Brenda Novak is the fifth book in her Silver Springs series, but the first I have read. I have to say I love this author’s writing and her characters so much. She has a way of giving us stories that can be heartbreaking and heartwarming and completely spellbinding.

Jada Brooks and Maddox Richardson were once in love, but his brother changed all that and shattered so many lives in the process. Driven apart, years later Jada and Maddox find themselves back in their hometown. Maddox wants to make a difference in others’ lives and Jada is back to be with her family after a tragedy. But Jada has a secret. Once they come face-to-face, will they be able to put what happened aside and find their second chance or will pressure from the outside drive them apart again?

Unforgettable You by Brenda Novak was both an emotional and heartwarming read about second chances, love and family. I loved Jada and Maddox so much.

Happy reading!

This book was harder for me to get in to as I had trouble remembering the character names. Jada and Maya are mother and daughter and then Aiyana was introduced, and my brain cells were tired just from processing names. By the halfway point of the book, I was more in to the story as Jada and Maddox re-explore their relationship and balance out all of the events that happened many years earlier in their lives.

Unforgettable You was an beautiful story about young love, heartbreak and tragedy, but also about second chances in love. The author trapped me from the first page, and built enough tension to transform it into a real page-turner. The characters were great, both principal and secondary. The background story was intriguing, and as all the secrets were revealed, everything fell into place. Would be awesome love if the author has taken more time in that ending, but it was satisfactory all the same.

Note: This book is part of a series, but you can read it as a standalone since you don't need the others to understand this particular story.

Oh my gosh. I really really liked this book. Maddox and Jada were high school sweethearts torn apart by one incident at a party. Maddox’s younger brother Tobias was tripping and shot Jadas younger brother paralyzing him for life. Jada was forbidden from seeing Maddox, even though she was pregnant with their daughter.

Flash forward to 13 years later: jada is back in Silver Springs after her divorce. Maddox is also back as the principal of the new Girls rehabilitation school for New Horizons, and Tobias is being released from prison. Whew! So much.

Jada and Maddox rekindle their romance. Maya is searching for info about her birth father. Atticus, whom has been babied by his mother for 13 years, finally tries to get a job and let go of his anger. I loved Uriah. Tobias is trying to civilian life.

I hated Susan. Yeah, we can understand her hate for the brothers but let it go, lady! Jill was the worst.

I’m super looking forward to Tobias’s book!
