Another amazing novel from Brenda Novak. Though I love all of her books I’m absolutely in love with all these second chance romances in the Silver Springs series. Especially because it’s not always just a second chance for the main couple in the book but other characters get a second chance as well.

The characters and their flaws are so relatable (Brenda truly is a master at creating relatable characters) and the book truly pulls you in, makes you feel the ups and downs the characters feel and then leaves you craving more in the end.

A great story about young love that ends in heartbreak, but gets a second chance. Brenda Novak captured my attention from beginning to end, and highly recommend it. I have enoyed this series, but this book could be a stand alone, you do not need to read the others to understand the background. I received an #arc from #NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

5 Stars ... this story will break your heart!

When Jada and Maddox were teenagers they were madly in love, but that all came to an abrupt end one fateful night. Thirteen years later, Jada is back home in Silver Springs with her daughter to help her mother and crippled brother after the death of her father. She never dreamed she'd run into Maddox again ... let alone in Silver Springs. For the past 13 years Maddox has regretted taking Jada and her brother Atticus to that party because it not only forever changed his life, but also the lives of those he loved. Now he's back in Silver Springs to help the only woman who believed in him back then - Aiyana, the owner of New Horizons. The only reason he agreed to come was when Aiyana assured him that Jada still lived in LA ... so when he sees her in town, he's second guessing this move. But Jada and Maddox still burn for each other and it doesn't take long for them to realize that.

This book put me through an emotional wringer ... actually most of Ms. Novak's books do. I laughed, cried and got mad ... and these characters won't leave my head for quite some time. Not only did I love Jada and Maddox, there was Maya (their daughter), Atticus (Jada's brother) and Tobias (Maddox's brother). But Jada's mom ... well I just wanted to give her a swift kick and say "they were kids and she's your daughter". That's the sign of a good book when you want to throw it across the room.

I received an early copy courtesy of Harlequin - Mira through NetGalley in exchange for a honest review.

A sad story that slowly showing the characters getting and showing forgiveness. Jada life change forever when she was seventeen years old never to be the same again. One night while sneaking out of her parents house and and taking her younger brother to a party to meet up with her boyfriend. A fate she never thought would happened did. Her boyfriend Maddox brother Tobias in a drunken state shot Jada's brother accidentally. She was forbidden by her parents never to speak to Maddox and his brother ever again. Fast forward thirteen years later and she has moved back to Silver Springs after moving after the incident. Ms. Novak's latest book to the Silver Springs series is filled with angst sadness anger frustration and eventually triumph overcoming and redemption. Although this is labeled a romance Ms. Novak show the realistic view of what can happened when families are torn apart by one family member decision that impacts the other family. Brenda Novak did not hold any punches showing the grittiness and depiction of jail life and showing and writing about characters with heavily deep flaws. I dare say this may be the best of the series by far. Review on goodreads and amazon.

The Silver Springs series by Brenda Novak has been enjoyable and the latest book in the series was no exception. Ms Novak always manages to capture the essence of her characters and the setting perfectly. You understand the actions and feelings of everyone involved. She transports you on location and engulfs you in the story.

I empathized with Jada's mother for all she had lost. Her son is in a wheelchair, and her daughter and granddaughter moved away from her all because of an accidental shooting at a party they attended when teenagers. Jada and Maddox have paid dearly for the incident at the party 13 years ago and they have a chance for a do-0ver. Maddox's mother has her own feelings of guilt dealing with her addictions.

This is a coming of age story for all characters: Jada and Maddox, their daughter Maya, along with Atticus, and Tobias. Revenge and redemption are powerful emotions that this story deals with accurately. Both mother's have had to deal with the ramifications of that night and the fateful party which altered all their lives. As usual Ms Novak excelled and I would recommend this to all readers. It can be read as a standalone story, although part of a series.

I was provided a free ARC eBook from the Publisher Harlequin and Net Galley in exchange for my honest comments.

Unforgettable You by Brenda Novak

Oh, so good. Contemporary romance packed with emotional scenes.
Empathy caused tears with this one. In public! Three times!
It’s not a death or anything devastating. Yeah, maybe I’m an easy cryer, but the writing in this really got to me. Happily. Sure, there were a couple of times I was mad at a character and wanted to say “just talk...” but it worked out well in the end. And without spoilers, we know whose story is next and I’m so glad because....

5th book in the series.
Can be read as a standalone.

Author insider reference - if you’ve read the Hanover House series by the same author, you’ll find a paragraph where the owner of the troubled boys school talks about the research that Evelyn Talbot is doing in Alaska. Very cool.

I received a copy of this book from NetGalley. This is an auto buy author for me so also purchased a copy to keep.

Filled with emotional turmoil and heartfelt redemption! With the next book in her beloved Silver Springs series, Brenda Novak is taking us back to where it all began and bringing Aiyana's school into the forefront again. We meet a couple who were doomed by one impetuous decision that spiraled out of control. He's trying to reconnect and though she wants to as well, she can't figure out how to broach the fact that she's kept such a huge secret for all of these years. It's a very emotionally riveting read and pulls at our heartstrings heavily. Really loved this book and am looking forward to more of Tobias in the next book in the series!

One teenage mistake led to a changed world for Jada Brooks. Her little brother's life changed irrevocably at the hands of another, and she was never let to forget that it was all her fault. She was forced to never speak to the boy she loved ... not even to tell him she was carrying their baby. Now more than a dozen years have passed and Jada is coming home to Silver Springs. Had she known he would turn up in town around the same time, she would have never endangered the secret she holds dear ... their 12 year old daughter Maya.

Maddox Richardson lives with his own regrets, but chances given to him over the years have led him to redeem himself and become the man he always wanted to be. He's thrilled that Aiyana is giving him this opportunity at the new girls school she's starting, and hopes returning to Silver Spring won't come back to bite him. It doesn't take long for news to reach him that she's back. The only girl he ever loved. The one he's never been able to forget. He knows he has to reach out and hope for forgiveness for the wrongs he helped cause, but he doesn't know how hard it will be for them to be so close to each other, but yet so far.

Unforgettable You returns the reader to Silver Springs. Home of Horizons School for Boys, Aiyana Turner and her boys, including Maddox Richardson. Jada Brooks, who left Silver Springs immediately after high school graduation, returns with her daughter Maya and a secret. Newly divorced, she comes back to help her mother run the cookie shop after the sudden death of Jada's father. What she didn't know was that bad boy Maddox, her high school boyfriend, was also returning to Silver Springs as the principal of the new school for girls that Aiyana is starting. Let the conflicts, avoiding, and twists of fate begin.

While there were some scenes that I found slightly implausible, overall I truly enjoyed the book. I have read the entire Silver Springs series and was glad it was not finished. Jada and Maddox deserved another chance to right a wrong from twelve years ago. We meet Maya and her best friend Annie. We also learn about how long-festering resentment and anger can change a person's life and way of looking at things. I liked the fact that the author did not "neatly wrap things up" at the end of the novel but rather, chose an ending that is realistic yet wrenching.

This newest book in the Silver Spring Series is a winner. Ms. Novak writes with such feeling and heart that the reader can feel the characters as they read. This book has all of what a reader wants in a novel. It has tragedy, angst, so many feelings from heartbreak and pain of leaving a first love, to the misery and guilt of thinking that you caused someone else’s bad choices that led to their worst choice. And hence loss of what life could have been for so many people. This book is also about rediscovering, and acceptance. Discovering that sometimes first love never goes away and accepting that life after tragedy can go on and be lived to the fullest of what we make it. Lastly, this book has heart, lots of feelings of love, of rebuilding what was taken away, of discovering that real love never dies, and with work, life can go on, families can come together and start anew.

This is a very emotional read. To say that Jada and Maddox's romance is complicated is simply a gross understatement. I like this series and was happy to return to Silver Springs once again. This author can be counted on to deliver books that contain characters that have made mistakes and offers them a second chance at love and redemption. There is so much going on here; guilt, anger, secrets, drama, angst and heartache all get a chance play their part. While all the while forgiveness and love linger, waiting for their turn in the spotlight. I liked Jada and Maddox, felt bad for them and thought that the hand they were dealt was incredibly unfair, but alas life doesn't always play that way. I was very happy to see these two get their second chance at a HEA and I really enjoyed reading it.

Jada Brooks has moved back home to Silver Springs after 12 years and her father's death to help out with her ailing mother, brother who is in a wheelchair and her mother's business. To say she's stressed out is an understatement. Not only does she have all that she also has a 12 year old daughter and her own business to attend to. She has stayed away from her hometown for a reason. In high school she fell in love with Maddox Richardson, a boy her parents never approved of. While out to a party that she wasn't supposed to go to, Maddox's brother shot Jada's little brother while high on drugs. That night changed everyone's lives. Jada ends up pregnant with Maddox's child and her parents pressured her to give up her child and they also got Maddox ran out of town.
Now he's back in town to run a all girls school and he doesn't know that his child is right under his nose.

Great story but I was soooo disappointed in the end. Like they fought so hard to get together and it's like What? That's it.

This is a romeo and juliet type fof story and a 2nd chance at love in the authors Silver Springs series. Each book features a different couple yet we do not see a lot of characters from other books. I have not read the other books so it easilt stands alone.

13 years before Maddox and Jada were in love. Until one horrorific night changed everything. Jada's brother Atticus was injured and crippled by a bullet shot by Tobias, Maddox's brother. At the time Jada was a pregnant 17 year old and her famly got rid of Maddox.

Now 13 years have passed, Jada is divorced and back in town to help her mother iut and Maddox has moved back tp town. And well the fireworks begin as soon as they see each other,

This was a very well written and interestng story. However it is not a fun story, very angysty and it deals with some very serious subjects.

In spite of the somewhat predictable conclusion, it was a nice ride to get there. The characters were rich and real, you lived them and got angry with them and felt their pain. It actually all wrapped up a little bit too easily for my taste, but I got what I wanted in the end. Now I am sufficiently ready for the sequel which was teased at the end.

Unforgettable You brought me right back to the midst of Silver Springs. I really enjoyed Maddox and Jada - they so deserved a second chance. And even now, everything seemed to go against them.
I kind of missed the feeling I usually get when I read a Silver Springs novel, though, as few characters from prior books showed up. And those who did only showed up for a very short while.

Unforgettable You is a second chance story about forgiveness. The story begins thirteen years later with both characters returning to their home town. Maya ran away when she was eighteen without saying goodbye.

Story:
A past mistake lingered for thirteen years. It’s time to forgive and move forward.
Maddox was a reformed man back to prove he was a valuable citizen.
Healing was a better means of recovery than living a life blaming and hating individuals.

Overall:
I struggled to connect with Maddox and Maya. The love shared from thirteen years ago needed a better backstory. Where it stands, in the present, thirteen years later, I can’t process these two characters being in the same type of love. Too much time had passed. Not to mention neither character sought out the other in those thirteen years. I understood the forgiveness part, but I couldn’t get onboard with the love interest.

The transitions between chapters was disappointing. The point of views changed midway between chapters reading like a run on sentence. There should have been a symbol indicating the switch from Maddox to Jada.

The text messages should have used a different format or font to illustrate a conversation was taking place.

This story had a beautiful message about forgiveness and moving forward, yet the execution of details lagged the story. Sadly, I had to skim good portions of it due to the subject material.

A controversial topic with a heavy emphasis on family and the influence a parent has on their children lives. A forbidden romance with a second chance to forgive the wrongdoings of the past. Change is a factor layered throughout the story. While Maya and Maddox were the main characters I felt this still was a character driven story.

This was a lengthy wordy story that didn’t necessarily need the prolonged details of each individual character. I did want to see how it all came together, yet I struggled with all the characters worrying about what others thought. The ending was rushed. With the grand effort to build a story about forgiveness it seemed anticlimactic at how easily some characters forgave.

Thank you NetGalley and Brenda Novak for the ARC of Unforgettable You by Brenda Novak that I read and reviewed.
This was a very good romance book that was an excellent second chance romance novel. I really enjoyed this book and I read it in on day. It was one of those books about a couple that get a second chance at romance and you have no choice to cheer for them even though people and circumstances are working against them.
Unforgettable You is a great read if you are looking for a great feel romance book that is going to make you walk away feeling good about people. I am giving this book five out of five stars.
