I read the previous book in this series and only gave it an OK. I had a much better experience with this story. I enjoyed the cooking competition set up as a fan of cooking/baking shows in real life.

While I had some issues with of the B&B details (the cat being allowed to roam at will and seemingly waiting on the guests continuously) they were easy to ignore since more of the action was at the show or while investigating. In the second book, I was not fond of Aunt Ginny. Yes, the character is still over the top, but there was just once in this story where I thought the envelope was really pushed to the brink for me.

There is a love triangle too, which I'm not a fan of. I have the next few books to read so I hope it is resolved soon.

I received a copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

Restaurant Weeks Are Murder is so much fun. Poppy has always had dreams of becoming a chef so when she is asked by Tim, an old boyfriend/fiancé to help out during the Restaurant Week challenge she accepts the invitation. She is working as his pastry chef while Gigi, a condescending women, works as his sous-chef. She is obviously in love with Tim, but he only has eyes for Poppy. As the show is sabotaged, Tim is singled out as the person who is cheating to win the competition. The danger ratchets up when a fryer explodes and then one of the judges is poisoned. The cast are all staying at Poppy's and Aunt Ginny's B&B, when the original hotel as a problem, so it is easy for Poppy to investigate when they are all in one place. Tim's restaurant is having financial difficulties and he is hoping that exposure on this television show will bring in more customers, but it seems like all the contestants are in similar situations. Being suspected of all the sabotage, both Tim and Poppy are suspects and the victims of vandalism.

This was another fun and enjoyable outing with Poppy, Aunt Ginny and friends. I have to say Aunt Ginny steals the show when she is invited to be a judge after the death of the original one. She makes me laugh out loud. As well, all her friends are in the audience making side bets on whatever they can think of and passing money back and forth. The more Poppy investigates, the more dirt she finds on the various contestants and even members of the production scene. There are so many suspects and she has to sort through all the evidence to find out who the possible killer could be. I loved the final reveal and how it came about. I knew there was something going on with the actual killer, but the motive was perfect and I loved the final takedown. My one complaint is the love triangle and it looks like it is done, which I definitely hope is the case. A great addition to this series, that I highly recommend.

Another wonderful book in the series by Libby Klein. Poppy is participating in a restaurant week challenge in order to help Tim, her ex-fiancée, win the prize. Unfortunately that also means spending time with Gigi, who we the readers love to hate, and the cast of judges. Poppy is a fun and relatable character, and the cherry on top of the desserts in this book is Aunt Ginny and her crew. I can’t wait to read each entry in this series! Thanks to Netgalley and Kensington Publishing for allowing me to read this book and give my honest review.

This book is a wonderful addition to the Poppy McAllister Mystery series. I think it is the best yet! If you watch Chopped or any of the timed cooking competitions on TV you will love this book. There is a cooking competition between six local chefs and Poppy is on Tim's team as his pastry chef in this book. Not only are there surprises in the baskets, but there are many mishaps in the kitchens during the week long competition. The way that the murder takes places really left me wondering who the killer was and I was surprised by the ending and the reason behind it. I like how Poppy has grown over the course of the series so far and I love Aunt Ginny and Figaro. You could read this book as a stand alone but I think it is much more enjoyable if you read the series in order to really get to know the characters. I am looking forward to many more great books in this series.

I received a complimentary copy of this ebook from Kensington through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

One of Poppy’s lifelong dreams was to become a chef but events in her past derailed those dreams. Making gluten-free pastries for Gia’s coffeeshop has filled some of the void but when her ex, Tim, asks for help winning a cooking show contest, Poppy is all in for the event. Upon arrival of day one disaster strikes, Poppy is disrespected by a member of her own baking team, and accusations are tossed around. Things manage to get worse with each day the cooking show continues adding impromptu lodging accommodations, increased sabotage, and even murder. When the death of one of the judges occurs just after tasting Poppy’s dessert, her head is now on the chopping block the contestants turn on her and the police implicate her. Knowing she didn’t kill anyone, Poppy is, yet again, on a mission to find out who’s responsible for the catastrophe that is Restaurant Week.

Book three is just as wonderful as the rest of the books in the series. Restaurant Weeks are Murder pulled me in and kept me engaged from the very beginning. The author put a lot of thought into this book concerning Restaurant Week and the all of the events that occur, Aunt Ginny and her friends, and the romantic entanglements of Poppy. Poppy is a wonderful main character. She’s not perfect, not supermodel thin, yet has a personality that is awesome. She’s a very realistic character and funny. This book is full of wit, snark, and humor. Poppy’s Aunt Ginny is a such a quirky character, too. I love her antics and they are just amplified even more in Restaurant Weeks are Murder.

The strong character development and world building continues in Restaurant Weeks are Murder. The book is written with realism that I could feel. I love how the author continues to develop Poppy and Aunt Ginny. She uprooted herself from where she lived with her late husband and took on the caretaker role for Aunt Ginny – who is healthy and spry but needs a little bit of looking after. She changes her diet, meets a new flame and reunites with an old flame, and begins new business ventures. The author takes these themes and combines them into fantastic books in a terrific series. I have devoured every book in the Poppy McAllister series.

I was provided a copy of this book to read.

I received this book via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. I really enjoyed this cozy mystery set in South New Jersey in Cape May. I don't live to far from there so it's nice to have a place like that be the setting. I also really liked Poppy McAllister, one of the MCs in the book. She is working to open a B&B with her aunt and her orange cat. In this story, she is working with her high-school sweetheart and ex-fiancé Tim in a Chef competition. Her other love interest, Gia, also turns up there to help his mother in the kitchen when her sous chef gets caught on fire in one of the sabotages.

The characters feel real, the drama and killings were well done, and there were enough red herrings to please any cozy mystery buff. Great story.

The third book in the Poppy McAllister Mystery series by Libby Klein is Restaurant Weeks are Murder. Poppy finds herself as the assistant chef on a restaurant challenge cooking show along with her ex-fiance. In addition her bed and breakfast is hosting the judges for the challenge. Someone is out to ruin the challenge by sabotaging the contestants and then murdering one of the judges. The mystery is a strong one and kept me guessing until the end. I look froward to the next book in this series.

This is the 3rd book in the Poppy McAllister Mystery series. I really enjoyed this book. Poppy is such a fun character and I loved the cooking competition format of the mystery.
Poppy is opening a B&B but has always wanted to be a "real" chef. When she helps her ex-boyfriend at a cooking competition, she finds being a chef is harder than she thought. She also discovers she's pretty good at it! Unfortunately, there are mysterious pranks being played on the competitors and the judges, and when one of them dies Poppy wants to find out who did it.

A fun book that's well-written and easy to read.

Thanks to Kensington Publishing Corporation and NetGalley for the ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I love this series. Poppy and Aunt Ginny make me laugh out loud. In this one Poppy and Aunt Ginny are getting ready to open their Bed and Breakfast. Poppy is taking part in a Restaurant Week challenge with her high school sweetheart, Tim and Gigi, a nemesis. When a local hotel is flooded Poppy offers her BB to house the judges. From the start things go wrong. When a judge dies Poppy sets out to try and salvage the competition and clear Tim of suspicion of sabotage. I really like the characters and the humor in this series. The mystery was good and the solution made sense. There were enough suspects and motives to make it interesting. The romantic triangle between Poppy, Gia and Tim continues and I hope it resolves itself soon. I am looking for word to reading the next book in the series. Enjoy

If you want a series of shenanigans, this is the series for you. There are several Laugh Out Loud moments.

In this series, a widowed Poppy McAllister returns to her home town to attend her high school reunion. While there and staying with her whimsical Aunt Ginny, she learns that social services is investigating Aunt Ginny for more than just being a little whimsical. After reconnecting with her high school best friend and realizing Aunt Ginny really can't be on her own anymore, Poppy decides to stay.

In this installment of the series, Poppy joins a team with her ex boyfriend's restaurant to compete in a cooking competition similar to Chopped on the Food Network. Immediately on day one, ingredients and equipment seem to be deliberately sabotaged. When someone involved in the competition meets their death, Poppy is on the case to find the culprit. Many of the contestants are not what they seem. With so many suspects with so many motives, Poppy knows she has to figure out whats going on but can she do it before its too late?

I received this advanced digital copy from NetGalley in return for my honest review.

Book 4, Theater Nights Are Murder , is scheduled to be released 12/31/19.

I absolutely LOVE this series! Libby's characters are sometines quirky but are certainly loveable and relatable. This is the first series I've seen with a character that is gluten-free and I believe that is a niche that hasn't had a series up until now.

I can't wait for the next book in the series!

If you want a book that makes you giggle, gasp and occasionally groan then look no further than this one! Libby Klein has crafted a book and series with the same skill as a top chef crafts their signature dish.

Poppy has agreed to team up with Tim (and Gigi) in order to take part in the inaugural Restaurant Week competition being run by a local television company. Initially she is disappointed as Tim and Gigi want her to be the Gofer for the week, and then the rules are clarified, each member of the team has to do one section of the three course meal, this means that Poppy can showcase her dessert making. From the start though there are problems, ingredients are mixed up, equipment doesn't work, a member of one of the teams is badly injured and then one of the judges dies.

Now if Tim (and Gigi) are going to keep their restaurants open Poppy needs to get to the bottom of what is going on, before someone decides that her days on this challenge are well and truly over.

This series became of favorite of mine after the very first book and this one did not disappoint. I love Poppy and her attitude and wouldn't mind staying at her B&B. Aunt Ginny and her friends are great at providing some fun as the competition continues.

It is well-written and the mystery has enough twists and turns that kept me turning pages late into the night. I know who I want Poppy to pick for her love life, so I'm already to read the next in the series.

AH! I love this series and I love Poppy! She is such an every-woman who deals with her weight, confidence, love life, etc...like everyone else.

Poppy is helping her old flame, Tim and his flirtatious chef-friend in a competition that heats up quickly. The first day of the competition all of the ingredients are mislabeled and wrong! Then Poppy agrees to put up the judges in her and Aunt Ginny's almost-complete bed and breakfast, but Figaro (the naughty kitty) keeps bothering the one person in the house who is allergic. Murder eventually follows and the killer is a surprise - at least it was to me.

Libby Klein's writing is honest and entertaining. Aunt Ginny is a hoot and so are her friends, the biddies. Poppy has a huge decision to make about Gia, the handsome Italian, and Tim, her high school sweetheart. *SPOILER* She doesn't make a decision in this book, but I am #teamgia all the way! Hear that Libby?! :)

4.9 stars.

I voluntarily reviewed this book on Netgalley. #libbyklein #restaurantweeksaremurder

Poppy is working on getting the B&B open and is excited to be partnered with her ex-Tim for a cooking competition . There are some pranks being played during the Restaurant week challenges but murder takes over the fun and games. This is book 3 in the Poppy McAllister series set at the Jersey Shore. The series is cut and cozy and this book can be read as a stand alone. I received a copy of this ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Poppy and her Aunt Ginny are finishing details on their Butterfly Wings Bed and Breakfast. Tim, Poppy's one-time fiancé, has asked her to team with him and Gigi in the Restaurant Week Challenge. The competition comprises three stages that include a "mystery basket" of ingredients and is judged by well-known celebrity local judges.

One of the six teams is comprised of Gia, a steamy, mcDreamy Italian for whom Poppy has been supplying some of her pastries for him and his mother's Italian restaurant. Teams include a head chef, a sous chef, and a pastry chef per each restaurant team. Each team is vying for a prize of $10,000. Unfortunately, few of the team members get along and the judges are brutal. So, this being a cozy is not too difficult to guess who will be a victim.

Before the mics are on and the cameras are rolling, there is sabotage and bickering. The author's sense of humor sparks off the characters, including her Aunt Ginny who is up to her usual antics and her kitty Figaro who figures out which judge housed in their B&B is allergic to felines. The dialogue ranges between snarky, hilarious, and believable. The secondary characters work well providing that tension you'd find in a real kitchen competition atmosphere.

The main characters have been developed in previous series entries and there is little further fleshing here, although with the plot focus on food could still work as a stand alone. It is a well-paced plot, albeit slow to deliver a victim as the focus is food. Red herrings, twists, and new discoveries every chapter lead to a conclusion you may have guessed, but it's been fun.

I had two problems. Her aunt and aunt's friends are seniors and they were constantly referred to as the "biddies and cronies." (Ouch) And, the dreaded romantic triangle. Groan.

I received this ebook download from the publisher and NetGalley and appreciated the opportunity to read and review. The author has a writing style I enjoy, characters that engage, and I'm looking forward to Book 4.
