Anytime you get a book from Kelly you know you are going to enjoy it, especially if it is about hot hockey players at least to me anyway..I hate when her series ends so I was excited that we started a new series with the Wyn family and my friends have fun trying to keep all of them on track. So we meet Theo who unfortunately for him, his hockey career ended but he has a new venture to follow, the LA Condors, he now working for his colorful grandpa who I personally enjoyed. Anyhoo he meets Lacey who is struggling with her gambling addict of a brother (but she still loves him and wants to help him) Theo and Lacey get together for a make believe marriage but as you and I know those are the best and never stay make believe..Enjoy!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher, for this free eARC.

Kelly Jamieson is my favorite hockey romance author. Her books are so hard to put down, and I always enjoy them.

Play to Win is the first in a new series. And I am so excited for it! 🙌 This is going to be such a great series, full of family drama!

Theo Wynn is a workaholic, who is helping his grandpa manage a team. He meets Lacey in Vegas, and when they get to talking, they both agree to help each other, and quickly get married. This may be the best thing that happens to them both!

I loved the start of this series and can't wait to read the second book!

This is the first of a new series and what a way to introduce it! The Wynn family is a hockey family/dynasty but it's not all loving familial moments. Theo is hired by his grandfather to take over the losing team is owns as general manager. On Theo's last night in Vegas, he meets Lacey, his waitress at the bar his current team has taken him to send him off in style. Through a series of misfortunes, Lacey ends up fired and Theo is intrigued enough to invite her to join them. From there it is a wild night that ends up with the two married and Lacey moving to CA with Theo. It's a great story of developing friendship and romance. I loved the interactions between the two and cannot wait to see what happens with the rest of the family.

The Wynn family is going to be one wild ride of a series and I am absolutely loving it already. Theo is just...damn, and Lacey is exactly what he didn’t know he needs. Their story had me smiling, crying a little, and swooning a whole lot. A great way to kick off something new, from an author who is one of my absolute favorites!

I can always count on Kelly Jamieson to write a great hockey romance. This one is a little different as we meet Theo, a previous player as he is taking on a new job as the team GM. This is the start of a new series involving the Wynn family and this story is an introduction to that family. Needless to say, they have some issues. I really enjoyed this book. It was entertaining, the characters were likeable and it kept my interest throughout. It is a great beginning to a new series and I look forward to reading the rest of the series.

Lacey and Theo knows they have trouble with relationships and they manage to make this marriage to work even when it start as a lie. The understand each other necessity and try to help with it.

This book is a great introduction to the Wynn family - and boy do they have drama! I am very excited to see where the series will go! I loved that bringing Lacey in seemed to be a galvanizing factor to help start repairs to some pretty damaged family ties.

Although Lacey and Theo had a bumpy and pretty crazy start to their relationship - they were a good match. Lacey is free and a self-described former "wild child" (although at 24 I would say she still has a wild side). Theo is only 27 but seems older - he is a numbers whiz and workaholic, They've both had their ups and downs - but are still very young. It was lovely to see both of them grow throughout the book - and find their way together.

The main thing I keep thinking about this book is how young Lacey seemed. Maybe I'm just getting old - but she is definitely still in party girl mode at age 24. Although even her internal dialogue described her as not as smart as Theo - to be honest, I thought she was very intelligent and had a very high emotional intelligence. Book smarts aren't everything people. I wished Kelly Jamieson had stayed away from those asides about her intelligence - both from Theo and Lacey. Especially because, for as book smart as Theo clearly is - he was dumb as rocks about people. He learned his lesson - but still..And Lacey's behavior at the end of the book solidified just how young she is- <spoiler> running back to Vegas, leaving her classes and job behind was really immature. Even if she was (rightfully) furious with Theo, she should have let him know she was leaving him and she should have kept to her commitments in LA).

All in all - I really enjoyed the book and the introduction of the Wynn family. I can say tho - and this is rare for me in this genre, I am not sure that Theo and Lacey will go the distance. It might be because I just am not convinced either of them was mature enough for their relationship at this point in their lives. I'll be rooting for them though!

I read this as an ARC from NetGalley - but the opinions are all mine.

Also - PS - Kelly thank you for the shout-out to the Heller family!!! I love that you are writing in the expanded University of their family and the Chicago Aces!

Theo always has a plan for everything. There is no plan when it comes to Lacey. I guess opposites really do attract in, Play To Win.
I really hope we'll get to read more of the Wynn family drama in future books. They are so crazy.

4.5 Stars!
I love a Kelly Jamieson hockey romance, and I was so excited to get to read the first book in this new series. It had everything I love about Jamieson's books: gripping writing, two amazing characters, a fun plot, and a love story to swoon over. The only thing that bothered me at times were the myriad of new characters. The Wynn dynasty is a large on and keeping everyone straight was tough. There was a helpful family tree at the beginning, but that's kind of a pain to flip to on a Kindle version. I'm sure as the series goes on I'll get to know everyone better. I also wasn't sure by the end of the book who the next one was going to be about. There were kind of two options. I would be fine with either, though. Overall, I loved reading this book and I'm happy Jamieson is giving us more hockey.

**I voluntarily read an early copy of this title courtesy of NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review**

Play to Win is the first book in Kelly Jamieson's new Wynn Hockey series and a great start it is! I can already tell this is going to be one heck of a series based on the family dynamics between all of the Wynn family members! They are an intriguing bunch for sure and watching it all unfold is going to be a treat!

Theo Wynn wishes he was still playing hockey, but an injury forced him into the front office, which he loves as well. He's a numbers geek and he loves his charts and figures. He's a very regimented guy who is a workaholic, likes order and he doesn't like to deviate from plans once he's got them set.

Lacey Olson is doing the best she can in life. She's lost her mother to cancer, her twin brother is in so deep with a gambling addiction that it's starting to affect Lacey's life as well and all she wants to do is help him. She's independent, but loves to have a good time, yet she doesn't have time for much fun or a love life due to all of the hours she's trying to put in with her jobs.

When Theo meets Lacey and realizes she's in trouble, all he wants to do is help. What he doesn't realize is this woman has the power to turn his entire world on its head. When he suggests a quickie marriage that will benefit them both, little does he realize that this temporary arrangement might be the best thing that's ever happened to him. Will he be able to step out of the office and realize that maybe work isn't the be all, end all?

I really liked the start to this series. The characters were great and there are some seriously complicated family dynamics! I can't wait to see what happens as this series rolls along because it has the makings of some really entertaining books! Kudos to Kelly Jamieson for another stellar hockey book!

Fell in love with Theo's grandpa right off, “I’m not blowing smoke up your ***.” Grandpa is known for his colorful language." Theo just can't help himself at times, “right. Okay. I’ll be out on the deck.” Yeah, I watch her walk out there because her *** in those little shorts is fucking hot and . . . those legs." Theo's girl sure has an interesting hobby, "he’s staring at all the cute knitted peens spread over my bed. “I made those.” He turns incredulous eyes on me. I gaze back at him, trying for an innocent expression. “I missed you.” I liked this book, I fell in love with Theo.

Another amazing hockey romance by Kelly Jamieson This one incorporates the Wynn family (which is big) and all their drama. They might not all be professional hockey players, but they are still hot and wealthy and super fun!

Théo Wynn kicks off the series with him taking over as GM for the Los Angeles Condors. His family owns them. They actually own 2 hockey teams! You know what this means?? LOTS of future hockey romances!!!

This is a brand new hockey series and I fell hard for the whole Wynn Hockey Family. I cannot wait for more in this super fun series.

Theo Wynn has been hired to run his grandfathers hockey team in LA, he is currently running a team in Vegas. On his last night in town he meets, marries and takes Lacey with him to LA. IN LA he introduces Lacey to his crazy family and they are totally dysfunctual but fun family. I loved them so much.

Lacey is perfect for Theo and she helps him fit in with his family and socially in his new town. They have a really sweet and great relationship and thats why I loved this story so much. This romance is sorta like the nerd and the social butterfly romance and it really worked for me.

I received an ARC of this book through #Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

It’s been about a year ago that I read my first Kelly Jamieson book and it still stands as one of my all time favorite, hot reads and one of my rare 5 ⭐️ ratings. Since then I’ve read several more, so I was so excited to get the opportunity for my first time ARC of one of her books and for it to be the first in a series. I am not usually a fan of series books, but Ms. Jamiesons books are complete, stand alone novels without a hint of cliffhangers, just memorable support characters that you will remember if you read more of the series. What I also love about this author and her team, the editing is spot on! Nothing kills a book faster for me than misspelling, grammar and situational mistakes. This was an ARC, normally there is unfinished editing which is cleaned up prior to publishing, but even at that, there were maybe only a handful of things needing edited through the whole book. A good book with great editing makes me swoon. 😁

Although most of the other books that I have read by this author are HOT, this one was more sweet. Don’t get me wrong, there was plenty of sexual tension, but it didn’t drag on forever and there was plenty of varied hot scenes, just with characters that started out in the relationship for something different and weren’t in a hurry to muddy the waters with sex, no matter their attraction to each other. True to this author’s style, every hot screen in the book is different. Location is different, position is different, words spoken are different, descriptive words are different. Super imagination that keeps the reader from reading the same scene repeatedly.

The story was a somewhat predictable HEA although this author always keeps things fresh by making the background story a little different from everyone else’s. I am not a hockey fan or non-fan for that matter. I just live in a part of the US where other sports are more prevalent so I am also usually not quick to read hockey based books, since I know nothing of the sport, but again, LOVE this author. Hockey did take a big role in the story, family background and life approach for Theo, but Lacey knew nothing of the sport so each thing that wasn’t known to someone like her or me, was explained simply, so that it was easily understood, not condescending and not drug out until the details made you want to skip over it.

This reader, who is not a hockey fan and not a book series fan is DYING for the next book already. How does this happen??? Oh right, spectacular writing. This book is definitely worth your time and a paid read or listen!
